Call me old fashioned but I just cannot succumb to the download everything mantra. Video Busters in Prahran is my all time favourite store mainly because it always has good deals throughout the week. In this day and age, $1 doesn't get you much. At Video Busters however, the $1 movie deal on tight-arse Tuesdays will get you any movie (including new releases) for just 1 buck! Other great deals include five 7-day DVDs (You can have a Gossip Girl extended marathon) for just $5. Besides that, I love that they sell their old DVDs off for a fraction of the cost compared to some other chain stores. My verdict is, rent it, love it, buy it. And Video Busters gives me that choice, all in one store.

Video Busters is your one stop shop. The Prahran location always had deals going and they are always so convenient. The store is a decent size and is always fully stocked with a wide range to choose from. Be sure to avoid the giant family size block of Cadbury's chocolate strategically placed between the latest release DVD's, gets me every time. They also have a set of computers at the back of the store and for a small fee you can browse the web or use Wi-Fi.

If your love of music extends beyond listening to everything on your phone or computer, you'll be thrilled that stores like Title still exist. Geared towards music collectors, they have a wide range of vinyl available for those that still own record players. Or if you were considering going lo-fi and buying a record player, at least you know you can still get both classic and up to date records for it. Great for gifts if you have a music loving friend or relative. They also stock films and books. I don't even own a DVD player so I typically have no interest in browsing hard copies, but the movie collection at Title is geared more to the cult classics and documentaries, the kind of interesting films that you won't find in those weird vending machines near the supermarket (seriously do people use those?) The book collection is similar - lots of classics and non-fiction books. Again, awesome for gifts. The kind of store you'll likely 'just have a look' and wind up leaving with something unexpectedly awesome.

It's so pleasant in here that I quite deliberately take my time flicking through the CDs, vinyl, DVDs and books, carefully pondering each one and enjoying the sense of peace that comes over me. Title has an excellent collection of hard-to-find film titles on DVD so if there's something you can't find anywhere else, it's likely to be here. If not, just ask the really nice guys who work here and they'll probably be more than happy to have a chat about it with you, and if at all possible, I'm sure they'll order it in for you.

Okay, I don't get to go down to Prahran a huge amount, and it had been a while since I stepped in here (especially since I have way too many books to read anyway), but I decided that when I was here I would duck in and look around. I also remembered that there was a cat here, and I wanted to say hello. Well, like any good second-hand bookshop there are plenty of books to browse through, including my favourites - old and dusty hardcovers. However it is the cat (and the fact that the owner is lovely and more than happy to help you out) that makes me want to give it five stars.

Im not anti technology just happy knowing I can throw a book in my bag and not stress about recharging or breaking it. Sybers Secondhand books has an extensive 'Bernard Black' like collection. There is a large science fiction/fantasy selection as well as general non/fiction. Prices are above op shop prices and vary depending upon the quality/antiquity/rarity of the book. The average price for a book is around $7 though you can pick up some cheaper generic novels. I went through an illustrated bird book phase and Sybers stocked a nice range of old "Australiana" books. If you are wandering along the Windsor end of Chapel and appreciate a pre read book drop in and pat one of the store owners cats while you browse.

Its your local family friendly video store!…read more Ok on Tuesday they have $2 Tuesday which is really the only times I come here, call me cheap I don't care. I miss living near a Video Busters where DVD's are always cheap but this is the next best thing. Videoland has a surprisingly decent range; nostalgia, art-house, Australian, cult etc. They also stocked the majority of films I needed for a cinema studies class which was also a bonus. They also have cheap internet access and sell caramel popcorn, which if not careful can be devoured in one sitting. Yep its my local video store that I will be able to patron as soon as my housemate pays off the late fee he owes on my card!

Unlike some other shops they have a conveniently located new arrivals section so you're not wasting your time combing through all the moldy old stuff every time you stop in. This one however misses the mark completely. It's like they've forgotten they're a charity store, providing for the poor. And they get everything for FREE! My husband and I saw two old leather armchairs for sale there once. Granted they were in good condition and absolutely gorgeous, but for the grand price of $880 we felt we'd be best to go to Plush and get two brand new ones. A lot of the furnishings are overpriced this way; to the point where you could set up house cheaper with a Fantastic Furniture package then go here. And you won't find any vintage or designer bargains here, the clothing they have is tacky and again, overpriced.
