I ordered 6 boxes of Dreamfields lasagna noodles from them for the holidays & paid $10 shipping. The boxes of noodles were just thrown in a box without any protective wrapping. All of the noodles were broken into pieces & 2 of the boxes windows were torn open. I sent an email to them with pictures & they responded by saying that they state on their site that they cannot guarantee the noodles will arrive in perfect condition & will only refund for the 2 boxes that were open. While I didn't expect them to arrive in perfect condition. I was expecting them to be in good enough condition that I could actually make a lasagna out of them. Funny thing is that I was hesitant to order from them because they ask for tips for the staff that pack the boxes. Ordered two items to try the company out. I live in an area where mail is not delivered so I only have a PO Box (yes some of us are that far out of town). The company did contact me for a street address however, the only ones that deliver to my place are UPS. They do not use UPS. FedEx and UPS have a deal with the post offices in these areas to deliver to the post office the PO Box is located. Most companies know this. In a rather strange twist, FedEx employees often don't. In another email they offered to send it Priority Mail to the box. That's cost prohibitive for those items, first class mail would have been fine. I requested a cancelation. I found the products elsewhere. While the cost was a bit higher, it didn't exceed the amount priority mail would have cost me. It was good customer service and I always try to review that. This review is for Netirion.com as well as the low carb board they operate, moderate and run (Low Carb Friends). In 2- words...Stay Away! Some of the prices at Netrition.com are OK and competitive with other low carb stores (such as Viva low Carb - who rocks!) but the shipping is slow-slow-SLOW on Netirion.com! I no longer shop here and I'll tell you why. I would place my order. Two days later, I would then receive an e-mail that my order was "fulfilled". That day or the day after (3 days now) it would finally ship. After that, it would be 7 to 9 days before we actually received the box of low carb food - with many items broken and tossed about during the shipping process! Low Carb Friends is an Internet Board what you don't know at first, is that they are supported and controlled by Netrition.com. LCF claims to be a "community" for those who prefer a low carb lifestyle. It is a user-board where one can post and review recipes, comments, etc. What one quickly learns is that "community" members are discouraged from discussing products which Netrition.com does not sell! I actually learned this the hard way by asking about a low carb bread which their store didn't sell (and let's face it, most LC users WANT information on low carb bread, right?). Well, it would have been just fine if Netirition.com SOLD the bread, but because they didn't, my hands were spanked and my posts were deleted without explanation. This has happened to many, many others as well. When Netrition.com and Low Carb Friends was confronted with this by me, (How come you will not allow me to discuss or post information about other Low Carb products...I thought this was a "community"?) I was again spanked and told, "Well of course you cannot discuss products which we don't sell...that would be the case with any store or board." Huh? Again, Low Carb Friends is connected to the Internet shopping store, Netrition.com. Low Carb Friends has several board moderators. The concern of the board moderators is more like parental control than it is, "community". I know if many, many former and some current LCF members who honestly cannot tolerate the nit-picking, controlling and policing manner of the moderators. For example, hands are slapped and posts are commonly deleted if a low carb member posts a product review and a link or picture of a low carb product which their Internet store, Netrition.com, does not sell. Moderators randomly lie, delete posts and cover it up. I wrote a letter to the CEO expressing my dissatisfaction along with copies of unprofessional e-mails one of the moderators sent, and the CEO needed to "investigate" . After close to 2-months, it wasn't worth my time any longer. The forum of users is wonderful. Many of the LCF posters have a wealth of information in eating and preparing low carb meals. The over-zealous moderators really bring havoc though and discourage many posters - and many have left because of them. Of course when complaints are made, the old excuse is always given, "We HAVE to have rules that are ENFORCED." Yes, but such a big difference between leading by example, being gracious and caring, and treating long-standing board members as though they are in Communist China. This is a five-star shopping and fulfillment experience. It is also a three-star shipping experience. I don't consider Netrition guilty of a bad shipping experience, but I do hold them responsible for the end to end experience. I've been using Netrition for low-carb stuff mostly. The bread options are okay, but I've started moving away from their bread options because of how heavy they feel. It makes sense, they're dense - protein heavy and fiber heavy. But it also kinda made me feel sick to my stomach, so I switched to Sola. Higher net carbs, tastes more like bread - but it can bust the carb budget if you're not careful. But the buns, bagels, etc. are quite fine from Netrition. I like the desserts as well - anything peanut butter and chocolate is a win. The shipping experience is crap. It's just crap. I live outside of Seattle and see delays in Troutdale, Oregon on nearly every shipment. Delays happen, right? No big deal. Except this is perishable food - it's not in the fridge, it goes bad fast. And the delays aren't a day or even TWO, I've had FOUR DAY DELAYS. I have to ask for thermal packs on every order now. FedEx is a problem for your Washington customers, Netrition. That should piss you off. That should bother you a lot. I have to not just pay $6 shipping, but also $4 for thermal packs on everything now, making my just receiving anything an extra $10. I'm being upcharged because your shipping provider is crap. My purchases are on time roughly 20% of the time. That's absurd. read more

I am SO happy to have found Netrition! After the whole "low carb" diet fad passed (as all diets do eventually) I found it extremely difficult to find any stores who sell low-carb foods. However, I will be a low-carb eater for life because carbs cause me to gain weight and feel sick. I originally ordered from Netrition to purchase Special K's High Protein cereal, but quickly found that they offer hundreds of other low-carb foods that you can't find in supermarkets. I've ordered twice, and each time the shipping has been very fast, and very cheap too. I'm not sure what this other reviewer is talking about - the box took about 5 days to arrive, which seems pretty quick to me. I haven't participated in any of their online blogs or Q/A forums, so I don't know whether or not they have issues with people posting comments on products they don't sell. I ordered with a German billing address and a US American shipping address - the internet shop allowed this option. All data I provided was 100% correct! My credit card account was accessed by Netrition, the money taken out. But instead of sending off the goods, they wrote me an email wanting me to confirm that I had not stolen the credit card by providing them with a list of my credit card transactions! Or a scan of the card itself *rolls eyes* Not only that these measures would in no way prove that the card isn't stolen, my transactions are highly personal information. So, after some back and forth, including an unsolicited call on an American phone number they suddenly required, too ... supposedly to check the facts, they cancelled the order. Nobody ever bothered to call me on my German phone number which I had given! That in itself is just extremely bad business manners. But to KEEP 60 European cents is downright theft. I have been waiting for weeks now for them to fully refund me. Instead, they feed me a line that the money was lost due to the exchange. I don't see why that is my problem. I ordered in good conscience, providing correct and honest information and not only am I being accused of being a thief and liar, I am also losing money due to Netrition. If - as Netrition claims - this was all in order to establish the validity of my data why not, for crying out loud, send a post card to the German billing address and see what happens? I have been using netrition for years (10 plus I guess) and never, ever had a problem. Shipping is cheap and the box usually arrives in two business days, maybe three at the very latest. Everything arrives properly packed and in good condition. I order low carb items. Much cheaper than the store (if you can even find these products). I always order my staples (thick it up, atkins, eden black soy beans, instant mashers, breadcrumbs, soy/flaxseed chips, crackers) but always end up ordering fun things like bread mixes, cookies, etc. When I get the box, it's almost like Christmas.
