This is my second favorite NetCost location in Brooklyn. The selection here is large and that's probably because of the vast Russian population in the area. So many options for fruits and vegetables, bakery items, cold cuts and cheeses, hot prepared foods, fermented foods, fish items, frozen goods, meats, dairy, candy and cookies, teas and coffees, sauces and condiments and so many other things. They also have a rooftop parking garage which makes shopping convenient. The parking fee is waived if you spend $50+ at the store and provide the parking ticket to the attendant at the desk when you're leaving the cashiers area. Overall, the large selection and the parking convenience makes this a wonderful location. read more

I was thrilled when this place opened, replacing the previous place. They have an amazing selection of hot food, breads meats cheeses cured meats and fishes everything! If you aren;t familiar with Russian or Easter European cuisine this is definitely the place to get your start with samples of everything. Highly recommend the soups, especially the Green Borscht! read more

So overpriced compare to other places but the worse part is a lot of prices different from listed on shelves and when they ring them up. Today I had 2 items that were 30 cents more expensive than the listing price. The clerk told me that it is possibly because I don't have membership but no, I pay attention to prices, she went to check with me and what do you know, I was right! The guy then came up to her saying that the office probably changed the price. Really? Not on my watch! So be vigilant and pay attention... read more

I frequently shop at this location but last night I was racially profiled by the security guard and I will never shop here again. I normally shop during the day time and have never had an issue, but I decided to pick up groceries at 10pm and I couldn't believe how I was being treated. I had a cart full of groceries and he still felt it necessary to follow me around like a criminal. Before checking out I stopped by the door to pick up flowers, the security guard looked at me and then came and stood in front of me. He pretended to fix something but it was very obvious he was watching me. I got to the register and he went up to the cashier, looked at me and whispered something in the cashiers ear. As I was leaving and waiting for my car, he followed me outside and stood there watching me, to the point where I finally had to say something because I was so uncomfortable. Imagine spending your hard earned money, on overpriced groceries to be treated like a CRIMINAL! I spent almost $200 and was followed around like a suspect. I took a look at their reviews from other locations and I am not the only Black/brown person who has been racially profiled at their stores. If you are a minority I would not recommend shopping here or at any of their locations. read more

Every time I come to buy smoked lox at this store, they give the fish tail part, and they charge $24.99 per pound. Those parts shouldn't be sold at this high price. read more

Was accused of stealing 8:00 2/10/25 Of course -- I hadn't stolen from the supermarket. Was just embarrassed and security asked to check my shopping bag (from another store) in front of other patrons. Don't worry, they don't have to worry about me "stealing" from this dump -- the bakery section here is filled to the brim with stale items that are sitting out (sometimes covered w gnats). read more

Netcost appears to cater to Russian and other Eastern European cuisines. The produce section is fairly large. If you're looking for more selection with other ethnic foods (i.e., Indian, Asian, latin) I wouldn't shop here. They are open 24 hours which is great for someone like me who likes to go early morning or late at night. The prices are higher than the average grocery store. read more

Netcost Market is huge in size at the Neptune Ave location. I enjoy looking at all the different ethnic groceries as well as the regular stuff. To save some bucks, look for sales throughout the stores and grab a flyer! I enjoyed the prepared foods section as I uncovered many types of pierogies and some savory and some sweet. Some of the pierogies look like buns and bread too! The Apple pierogie was delish! Diced apples were stuffed in a soft, bready outside and not very sweet. It was very fresh. I had a chicken stuffed pierogie that looked like a bun. The meat was really ground and it was okay. I prefer the meat to not be so mushy but having texture. There are even extremely thick yogurts in glass jars. Lots of candies by the pound but don't mix them as each have a different price per pound! Produce was abundant but prices are only good on the sale items. I got a package of blackberries for $2.99 and it was the 12 oz size! Place looks like a food warehouse with cement floors. The bread area is huge. You can grab what you need too. There is also a tiny cafe serving pastries and macarons. I spied several small tables and chairs. Lots of Russian specialties here including the prepared food section and candies! read more

Very large, well stocked grocery store with lox and excellent fruit and produce section with parking. The personal were very accommodating as well. They \offer free parking with membership and a $50.00 purchase. They carry kosher salami as well. It's easier if you're an eastern European person because you can avoid the mistake of thinking the people are rude because most of the time they just push and don't show much emotion. The attitude is just resting face versus emoting all the time. If you want a specific item it's best to ask and get a direct answer. read more

Typical Net Cost store - very similar to all the other ones. They have a good selection of ethnic soviet food and have everything you need for a supermarket. Lines can be very long in this location and the worst part is there is no parking. If there was more parking, it would be more convenient. Like other Netcosts - the pierogi have too much dough in them and not enough substance. read more

Fairly new location. Its open 24 hours. Just across the street from the F train at the Neptune stop. They got Redbull and sushi to go. Bring your own bag and use the express lanes on the far end. The place is big and clean. A good place to pick up some snacks and walk to the beach. They also have lots of different kinds of Russian food, fresh fruit, veggies, cheeses, breads and a big selection of Kvass. There is a hot buffet in the back. They also have home goods like shampoo, soaps, cleaning supplies and other toiletries. They take EBT too. read more

Garage parking makes the place even more attractive, especially, considering that you don't have to pay for it if you shop for over $50. Bring your purchase receipt to guys in the farthest corner to stick a bar code over your parking ticket and you won't pay nothing at exit read more

Today we have purchased a cake in net cost with a valid expiration date on it, came home to find out that it was all over mold, came back to the store, approached a customer service desk and were refused with an exchange or a refund claiming that we had no recipes even though we paid with the credit card. The answer was: " it is out policy". No one cared to check for the products conditions or took any further actions. We have asked for a manager and unfortunately there was no such present. We further went to investigate for the cakes conditions in the store, most of which turned out to be in the mold as well. Not recommending this store for a good food quality shopping as well as health precautions. read more

Popped in here to grab a snack to hold us over until we could get to Spumoni Gardens and uncovered a veritable gold mine of Russian and eastern European foods. They even had my favorite Lithuanian beer, Švyturys Baltas as well as many other Slavic and imported craft beers. The hot food bar was fresh and looked delicious but turned out to be just OK. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single fork to be found in the entire store so I ended up running to McDonald's to grab one but still worth it to get treats like Georgian tarragon soda, Ajvar pepper spread, fresh-baked Russian black bread, spicy Chumak ketchup, and Russian chocolates on our way out. Honestly, I must've looked like a crazy person running around all giddy grabbing things off the shelf but I felt like a kid in a candy store. I only wish that I had brought a drag-along grocery cart so we could've grabbed even more. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the Russian ketchup chips I wanted, but that just gives me an excuse to come back. As for the lack of smiling, any other way, and it wouldn't be a true Russian grocery store. Also, stop telling women to smile. read more

ALERT! THIS BUSINESS IS IN VIOLATION OF THE GENEVA CONVENTION AND NATIONAL CONVENTION AGAINST TORTURE! First I'd like to preface by saying the staff here are some of the most helpful and respectful workers I've seen in a market like this and this review in no way is directed at them. In fact is is the upper management and ownership that seeds the true issues here. I have witnessed abuse of these workers first hand. Management seems to treat their employees worse than animals and subjects the staff to forms of torture that are literally considered war crimes. They force their staff to stand up all day in the freezing cold, next to the doors which remain open most of the day, when they could easily be given seats and heaters. This is physical torture and it's abhorrent that this could be allowed in a modern society. There is also music played on a loop over and over and over through the day. The same mind numbing jingle blasting loudly in infinitum. As a customer I find it abusive being subjected to this even for the short time I spend there but to be held hostage there day in and day while having to endure this is a punishment no human deserves. I will be contacting the press and authorities regarding these egregious affronts to our society unless something is done to address these easily fixable atrocities. read more

Today we first came to this Netcost Market, and we had to face manager Victoria, we were terrified of her rudeness and uncensorship, how can such a boor be a manager,?!? If someone described to me what actually happened in this store on Friday, August 16th I would simply not believe them. Or, I would think they were telling me about a sitcom episode. No need for many words: I went to the checkout line marked "express-10 items or less." It turned out I had 12 items. The checkout person adamantly refused to ring up my purchases. She actually called the store manager who told me that they "strictly enforce" the 10-item limit. I sincerely thought she was kidding, but she was as serious as Putin on a bad day. I left all my non-purchases at the register for the store to "express" return them all to the shelves. This really happened. I still have a hard time believing it. But go-they may provide you with an even more impossible to believe experience! read more

Russian food heaven. They have everything. Meats, cheeses, quality produce. Amazing selection. The caviar section is insane - they have a huge variety of types and different sizes. You can get a tub of caviar! The deli and hot foods bar are fantastic. Oh and I can't forget the fish. I can get my herring and "vobla" (dried Russian fish) fix here! They have a great imported beer selection - there is Russian beer, Belgian beer, Czech beer, German beer and so forth. I even bought an Italian IPA. You can buy individual bottles too. So many awesome desserts and various chocolates, pastries, snacks. Oh and if you're interested in this sort of thing - you can buy an entire frozen piglet. Eek. Prices are very reasonable. I was born in Russia and speak the language so the language barrier is not an issue for me. But fyi, the staff may not speak great English. Also, I noticed a few reviews pointed out that the workers were rude. Try going to Russia. Customer service isn't even a thing there. This isn't a place you go to for friendly smiles and chit chat. Although the last time I was here, the cashier told us to have a nice day. I was genuinely surprised. Anyway, if friendly smiles are what you are after, stick to Trader Joe's. I hate rudeness and unfriendliness too but I just know not to expect much. Just come here for the awesome Eastern Euro food selection. read more

The Net Cost market is known in the Russian community as "the baza." The word implies that you can find absolutely anything here, and it's not far from the truth. Hidden in a recess under the F train, peaking out from behind a McDonalds, this place is an absolute explosion of food, from raw to ready to eat, from pickles made by a local grandma to caviar straight from the Russian seas. The prices are great. You'll never find food as cheap as here. Of course if you don't speak Russian, you might have a hard time finding your way among the tall shelves laden with products, but most labels have at least some English on them, and if you look really hard, you will find somebody who speaks the language. For people with a sweet tooth, this place is a fairy land of dark chocolate, bisquits, nut concoction - and of course cakes! The salespeople can be a little brisk, but with the low prices and amazing selection, it's worth it. read more

This market is great... kinda like a Russian Whole Foods. I'm not at all Eastern European, though I do play a Soviet Spy on request, but it doesn't take an expert to recognize this is a big, bright, clean store with a huge selection and lots of inventory turnover. The produce section and dry goods areas are decent. The stars, however, are the prepared foods... tubed meats, breads, pasteries, entrees, sides, sushi, seafood. There's a lot of stuff you aren't going to find at a typical supermarket in NY, and stuff I'd be willing to try (or not), next time I go shopping. On this trip, I only picked up a few things, but the roasted chicken I got was 20% more meaty than the anorexic birds offered by my regular markets. Maybe the Russian chickens are on steroids. I don't care. read more

I actually like the netcoast chain, just not this one, and unfortunately its the closest one to me. Checking out at the cashier is a real bad experience, the express line is useless with people purchasing well over 10 items with people behind them yelling and cursing, cashiers should make those go into the regular check out line, few times I've spotted repeat offenders. On average checking out takes 10-15mins. Seen a lady put crab salad into her hand at the buffet area, real disgusting. Feels like they cater to elderly people on welfare, medicaid and social security. I hope when they move into the new location, it can be more organized and cleanser. Till then, I won't be returning. read more

Net Cost has a large selection of high quality fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, and hot and cold foods. All are very reasonable in prices. Net Cost has three strong-points: 1) Selection; 2) Price; and 3) Selection. I have never seen such a large selection of Russian and Eastern European foods. There is a weighted, self-help salad and entree bar with at least four dozen Russian specialties. You'll find salads like shubu and olivie as well as entrees like ground fish patties and blintzes. The beet salad is one of my favorites! There are counters for both fresh and smoked fish. The smoked fish counter has many variations of caviar. This wouldn't be an Eastern European store without a smoked meats section, and Net Cost does not disappoint. There are so many variations of kielbasa! You can also pick up Eastern European style bread. And don't let me forget about the Russian candies; there's no shortage here! In addition to Russian specialties, Net Cost has all of the produce and basics you would expect at your grocery store. And Net Cost does not settle in regard to variations here either. There were so many types of eggs and yogurts. Moreover, Net Cost offers a decent beer aisle with several craft options. They even had Baltika one through nine. Net Cost is certainly worth a stop if you're having trouble finding a particular Eastern European beer. Lastly, Net Cost offers several pricing tiers for its food. It offers cheaper produce and products as well as pricier options for most of its goods. read more

Today was in the store on the west 6, one of my favorite stores and witnessed a terrible rudeness on the part of the buyer. As you know in the dressing slicer, each buyer takes a number, and on this number, employees serve customers. One young man missed his turn, and when he returned in five minutes. Workers asked him to take a new number on which he reacted very roughly, summoned the manager. A very nice woman came, calmly began to explain that he should take his number and the guys would gladly help him, to which the young man began to offend workers on the racial It's just outrageous. I normally do not like writing reviews but it's just got to the point that I had too. I shop in there regularly and constantly I come across the being overcharged for items on sale . It shows one price and when you get to cash register it's another price. Also every time at the cash registers not enough people and waiting for 30 to 40 minutes to check out. Manager could be passing by and just give a dirty look . To put the icing on cake when they do finally check you out they will charge you for bag . That's when I am done. There are other places to shop and get treated better than that. I don't expect to treated royally but simple thank you for your shopping and not throw stuff in the bags and than find it that everything is leaking. I go here pretty often for fresh produce and cheese. Havarti cheese here is probably the best. There are a lot of really interesting things here if you're not used to Russian food. Chicken feet, livers, cow/veal/pork tongues; brains; seaweed salads; lots of pickled products; fresh smoked fish and lox; keilbaska and all sorts of fresh-delivered breads. Most Russian people go here because it reminds them of their hometown bazaar to pick up everything from fresh filo dough, tea, egg noodles, to books, cosmetics and appliances. A little pricey for my taste, but the atmosphere is good (pretty much always crowded) and the boys working there are cute! read more

This Net Cost deserves nothing less than 5 stars. I actually do travel to Net Cost via the subway from Manhattan at least 4 to 5 times a year. It's when ever I get the urge to travel to Europe and I don't have the time and I want some authentic Eastern Euro treats. Hey, I don't even have to go through security or customs to get there! Oh, and yes, English is not spoken by all the employees, which kind of adds to the "travel experience", but they are not rude, they are simply Russians from Russia and they do try to communicate. Do remember, there are always going to be not-so-nice people in every crowd. I love the unique beer selection. The 16.9oz bottles and cans of .99c imported Russian, Czech and German beers are a total bargain! I mean come on! A buck for a delicious huge beer! I use a rolling suitcase to get them back to Manhattan. I pop them into the fridge until they are good and cold and PARTY! Gotta love that imported flava at a fraction of the cost of trendy NYC bars where similar beers can costs as much as $6 to $8 for a so-called pint (which, by the way is really not a 16oz pint but a 12oz pour) during a so-called Happy Hour. Then there is also a vast selection of Eastern European provisions. Kielbasa, bratwurst, salami, head cheese, all kinds of delicious bolognas and so much more. Many different varieties of tomatoes and other veggies at great prices. The smoked fish department is complete. I suggest the smoked whiting and salmon. The bakery is huge. The chocolate aisle is to die for. There are so many unique imported chocolates to choose from it could take a lifetime to try them all. The imported beers along with a little smoked fish, some kielbasa, nice hearty bread and a piece of European chocolate for desert makes for the perfect Euro foodie experience without the hassle or expense of traveling there. GO HOME PEOPLE! INVITE SOME FRIENDS! Happy hour awaits! Please do not listen to any negative reviews about this Net Cost. Trust me and go see for yourself.
