From our first tour through our wedding, the Nestldown team was phenomenal. This is a beautiful and well maintained property run by a team that is dedicated to making your event dreams come true. We worked primarily with Diana who is now lovingly known as princess diana in my entire family because she was so phenomenal. She was perfect for this couple, keeping anxiety low and excitement high. While I initially had sticker shock over the pricing, it was absolutely worth every penny and the most spectacular and well executed wedding we could have hoped for. We loved how detailed and organized the team was and it allowed us to prepare and then enjoy instead of worrying day of. If I have one complaint it is that it was too magical and perfect. I wrote a review years ago when I got married at Nestldown. This past weekend, we went apple picking at Nestldown. Since getting married we welcomed twin boys and it was so fun to take them back to where we said I do and show them around. This venue is the absolute most gorgeous venue I have ever seen and just when you think it can't get any better they add something new and it gets better. If you are in the market for a wedding venue or an event venue look no further, Nestldown is where you want to be! Pictures do not capture the absolute magical atmosphere that Nestldown offers, you have to see it in person. Beyond the absolute breath taking scenery is the owners and the staff. It has been almost 6 years since my husband and I got married at Nestldown, I walked up to the owners daughter to introduce myself and was greeted with a huge hug and a "hi Jennica, my December bride" I have no idea how Diana keeps track of everyone's name and wedding date but she does. I didn't need to introduce myself she knew who I was! This incredible personal touch that Nestldown offers is unmatched in the bay area. Diana is and always has been a Rockstar! My husband and I held a big, fat Indian wedding at Nestldown in July 2025 -- we weren't the simplest operation to put together given our guest count and multiple moving pieces. The whole Nestldown team was so diligent about the details and genuinely cared about making it work. We worked with Brigette, Diana, Barbara and others at ND -- all were professional, thoughtful, and creative. Brigette especially was so professional, patient, and on top of it day-of. It was such a relief having her by our side on our big day. Everyone in our wedding party who interacted with her had something nice to say. All the other ND staff I interacted with were the same. All of our guests couldn't stop gushing about the magical, fairytale venue that is ND. It's truly the most gorgeous place I've ever been and our photos turned out INCREDIBLE. Only pieces of feedback: for big, cultural weddings ND isn't a perfect fit -- consider making it easier to host larger events (parking, capacity in certain locations). Would also be helpful to have more rooms for changing (Indian weddings especially tend to have outfit changes). That being said, it's still worth sacrificing on some of those nuances to make it work. read more

I was helping my son and his fiancee look for the perfect venue for their wedding. She wanted a redwood forrest setting and after touring Nestldown, I knew that this was the place. We had looked at a number of different options and venues and Nestldown was just so magical and beautiful. I booked a tour for the couple and they too fell in love with Nestldown. So off we go..... From the first email correspondence with Jo Ann Yore to schedule the couple's tour and ask our initial questions to the actual wedding day, everything was seamless and well organized. We got lucky and had Jo Ann assigned as our SEM (Special Events Manager) and all of us worked well with her. I was especially appreciative of her experience and sage advice with some of the planning ideas. We visited Nestldown many times as we honed in on the specifics of the wedding and Jo Ann was very patient and answered all of our questions and then some! We also got to meet other members of the staff and all were such a delight to work with. Even had Diana reply to some of my emails when Jo Ann was out on vacation! I didn't ever feel that we were ignored or left hanging. While they had a list of vendors to pick from for all the essential services, we ended up with a few from the list and also other vendors not on the list. Everyone worked well together and Jo Ann made sure that they all were aware of the timeline for the wedding. Day of the wedding: I am so appreciative of Jo Ann and her staff as they worked to make the wedding event seamless from the wedding in the chapel to the cocktail hour at the Koi Pond/Fantasy cottage, dinner on the main lawn and the final transition to the Apple Knoll for dessert and dancing. We (the couple and I) were able to fully enjoy the wedding without any worry of schedules and timelines. Jo Ann even made sure that my husband and I were well taken care of in drinks department! My son and his wife had the time of their lives and their guests still continue to talk about their wedding at Nestldown. It was a truly magical event End of the day: The staff worked fast and efficiently to clear the area and made sure our guests were safely on the bus or in their cars. They loaded our van with all the props and extra items we brought to the venue and we were on our way within 30 minutes of the end time. I have gotten to know a number of the Nestldown staff relatively well and love the warmth and friendliness extended to us and our guests. I'm not sure my review truly conveyed how much fun we had planning the wedding at Nestldown and how much all of our guests enjoyed the evening. Nestldown was perfect in our experience. We wanted an outdoor setting, and my wife really wanted a fairy tale like experience. Nestldown fit the bill perfectly, and is an absolutely gorgeous destination in Northern California. Every single spot is an instant photo gem from the chapel with the redwood backdrop to the iconic lake, fairy tale cottage, and beautiful barn. The location speaks for itself, and every single one of our guests were blown away by the beauty and complimented us profusely. The gorgeous location is just part of the experience. Nestldown also provides a day of coordinator, and ours was Brigette, and she couldn't have been better. We literally got to sit back and enjoy every part of our wedding, because Brigette and her team took care of the rest. There's not doubt that Nestldown costs, but in terms of value in comparisons to the dozen other wedding venues we looked at, it provides surprising bang for your buck. Nothings cheap when it comes to weddings, and Nestldown proves you get what you pay for in the best possible terms. The sound system is also worth calling out. The inconspicuous layout in the trees allows for amazing sound of processional music as well as our miced vows. The barn is stunning with its amazing chandelier, but the sound system was absolutely amazing with depth to every note during dancing. We had our wedding at Nestldown a month ago, and it was an unforgettable experience. All of our friends and family could not stop commenting on how gorgeous the grounds are, and it was nice to be able to keep decorations super simple because of all the existing natural beauty. Most importantly though, I want to call out what an amazing team they have running everything. We were so lucky to have Ashley as our Special Events Manager - she went above and beyond to make sure that our day happened the way we wanted. On the wedding day, the weather decided to start pouring rain, so Ashley proactively called us with suggestions of indoor locations we could relocate to. I had previously had my heart set on having the ceremony in the chapel area, but agreed that it would be a better experience for everyone to move to the barn instead. Miraculously, the rain cleared up minutes before our ceremony was about to start, and at the last minute I approached Ashley about switching back to the chapel. It would have been completely reasonable to say no at that point, but Ashley and her team behind the scenes managed to execute some insane last-minute changes to make it happen, and she was so gracious despite my indecisiveness putting her in a tough spot. I've been lucky enough to have my wedding at Nestldown and it was quite literally one of the best days of my life!!! From beginning to end -- when we had our first tour of Nestldown to our actual wedding day, we've been absolutely blown away by the venue and the team. The Nestldown team is incredibly professional, well-organized, and warm and personable and our family and friends agree that this is one of the most magical venues and our wedding day ran so smoothly because of the incredible staff. While we ended up having to switch Nestldown coordinators a few times one month leading up to our wedding, I was never once concerned about the day of logistics since I had complete faith in the team pulling through. Diana ended up coordinating our event the day of and she absolutely delivered!!! She went above and beyond to making sure everything was running smoothly, giving incredibly clear and thoughtful directions to my family and wedding party to ensure a beautiful ceremony, and even made sure that my two little nieces were taken care of and entertained. My husband and I had such a memorable day thanks to her and the team. Beyond the team, the location itself is something to be admired. The weather is fantastic - not too warm and not too cool. The scenery and foliage provides such an unforgettable backdrop and there's always more to discover! Truly a location that my family and friends will still be raving about in the years to follow. Twilight inspired wedding? This is it! I attending a wedding here recently as a guest and wow, this place is beautiful! There was a lot of walking and I'm glad I didn't wear high heels. They do provide shuttles but probably won't be able to accommodate every single guests. The venue feels very private. We were they only wedding party there and each session is hosted in a different room. Space for ceremony, dinner, cocktail hours and dance floor. The staffs are friendly and everything went smoothly. We got married in October 2024, and booked the venue a year in advance. I'll start by saying it is a beautiful venue. However, if you have a fusion wedding (in our case Indian/secular), I would choose a different venue because management can be difficult to work with and you will be charged substantial incremental fees for any deviations from the "base" rental rate (which for our wedding was $35,000). For example, if you want more than 6 hours for wedding/reception, 151-200 guests etc.) In fairness, these incremental fees are disclosed during the contract review meeting (but not at the tour), so something to keep in mind depending on the circumstances of your wedding. Nestldown also had a very strict list of vendors that you could use (everything from caterer to wedding planner). These may be typical industry practices but it limited our options quite a bit. At that time, there was only one Indian caterer they would allow, and of course, vendors know you don't have any other options, which makes it difficult to get competitive pricing, and management was very inflexible on providing any exceptions. My fiancé also had to get ready at a nearby hotel because they did not have any place onsite to get ready the day of (aside closing down the restrooms for a 30 minute window). That was fine for me, but for a bride, that might be something to think about. I also found it odd that they would accept payment for the rental by ACH or Zelle, but when it came to returning the security deposit, they would only mail a check (which in my case, they mailed to my old address despite having confirmed in writing that the check would be mailed to my current address). As an aside, in November 2023, (about 3 weeks after had booked the venue) Nestldown offered a 10% sale that would have applied to our 2024 wedding date. They refused to credit us the discount (granted, they weren't obligated to do so, but it would have been a demonstration of good will). read more

I did not want to even read the response she posted on Yelp because I felt I had heard it all before & it seemed pointless. However, I keep getting notifications about this review, so I finally did read it & this is my response. To me it sounds so insincere for Barbara to say that her staff knew she was familiar with our organization & thought she may want to "gift us" the site. How do you go from considering wanting to possibly "gift" a site to someone, to ignoring them completely? My gut instinct is that it is all about business with Nestldown and if you fall into the non-profit area, it is a grey zone. Barbara's initial tone when she did not know which organization I represented, struck me. She asked me if I represented Stanford Children's Hospital (I believe) and said they had already done a lot for them! I reiterate that I had no prior knowledge of Barbara's prior arrangements with our organization & I was not looking for any special "deals" or arrangements. I was merely making an inquiry about 11 MONTHS in advance of our event date. I believe it was Nestldown who was uncomfortable with hosting our organization or believed we were looking for a discount of some sort. I am sorry that the family was going through a family emergency, but I doubt that other customers holding weddings at the venue were ignored like we were. read more

We cannot recommend Nestldown more highly. There were two things that guests commented on after the wedding: firstly, that this was the most beautiful venue they have ever been too and, secondly, that this was an incredibly well organized event. To start, the venue speaks for itself in terms of sheer beauty. I do not have words to describe how gorgeous it is which reflects the effort on part of the venue to continually improve its grounds every year. It was somehow even more beautiful this year than when we toured it first last year. Secondly, I have nothing but the highest praise for Brigette and the rest of the Nestldown team. We did not feel like we could take credit for most of our guest's perception that this event was well organized because this was entirely because of the dedication of Brigette and her staff. Brigette was one of the most competent and professional people I have worked with either personally or even professionally (as a physician). She was incredibly thoughtful in her suggestions and her advice during planning was invaluable. She managed to navigate a few uncomfortable family dynamics with absolutely incredible skill and poise. Her and her staff were prepared down to the minute with every detail of the plan and executed it with finesse, learned the names and faces of 20+ people that they needed to corral for different parts of the event within a day, and constantly checked in to ensure everything was running smoothly. When my husband was upset with an issue with the caterer, he came to Brigette and she was able to talk him down and bring him back to being present in the moment. We both could fully relax and enjoy the day because I knew in her hands that the event would go off without a hitch. We had fewer interactions with Megan, Tracy and Nate but we wanted to give them a shoutout because they were also wonderful. I first became aware of Nestldown in 2007 and visited it in 2016; I instantly was smitten. When my husband and I got engaged, it was at the top of my list for venues. We toured the property and booked our minimony there immediately afterward, without even looking anywhere else. It's hard for anything to live up to what you've built it up to be in your memory, especially after such a long period of time, and yet, somehow Nestldown ended up far exceeding my sky-high expectations. First of all, Nestldown is absolutely breathtaking. There are so many whimsical and special touches everywhere you look. Our guests loved walking around the grounds and taking it all in. The ceremony site is gorgeous. But even more importantly, the owners and staff are what truly make Nestldown stand out for me. Every staff member we interacted with there was professional, responsive, and genuinely kind. Once we had booked, Barbara Beck, the owner, was assigned to be our Special Events Manager. She guided us through the planning process, and was consistently thorough, organized, and invested in making our wedding day visions come to life. She was phenomenal, and an absolute delight to work with. It is apparent she loves what she does, and that was seen in every interaction we had with her. On our wedding day, Barbara was the calming force throughout, keeping us on schedule and everything running smoothly. Nestldown is truly the most magical place. Not only is it physically beautiful with the scenery, but there is a real sense of magic in the air that makes you feel like you're in a fairytale. My husband and I toured Nestldown shortly after getting engaged, and didn't need to tour any other venue after because we knew it was the one. We booked a minimony due to wanting a very intimate ceremony of 20 guests and it was absolutely perfect. We were so lucky to have Diana as our SEM, and she is a rockstar!! Her communication was consistent and she was always friendly and responded to questions quickly. Nestldown knows how to run any event seamlessly, and Diana ensured our day was absolutely perfect and ran smoother than I could have dreamed of! My only concern with a minimony was that it might feel rushed due to a shorter rental timeframe, but it couldn't be further from the truth. It was the perfect length to have a first look, a 30 minute ceremony, family photos, additional photos of just the bride and groom, and all the special moments such as toasts and a Father of the Bride dance! Our guests and I felt it was a smooth schedule with ample time to socialize and take candid photos in the reception area! No one felt rushed at all and just kept commenting on how beautiful the venue was and how amazing Diana was! Diana not only made sure our wedding day was perfect and ran smoothly, but she also made our families feel special and cared for! She helped our family members with accessibility issues get to all areas of the wedding events and went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable. We attended a wedding here last year and I was blown away by the space and staff. Everything was incredibly efficient and the variety of indoor/outdoor spaces that the wedding took place in made it feel incredibly unique. I personally loved the more rustic and forest-y feel, but that may not be everyone's jam. I'm rushing to write this review just days after my wedding at Nestldown because they are responsible for creating the best day of my entire life. How can you thank a SEM and venue enough for the joy and responsibility of creating such cherished memories? First off, Jo Ann is the true MVP. She gave our tour, signed our booking, and became our Special Event Manager. She helps run Nestldown like an unbelievably well oiled machine. She was also so personable and supportive each step of the way. We will truly treasure her for the rest of our lives. Nestldown is the most breathtaking venue you'll ever see. When we first visited, we all joked "...aww man, they got us" as we knew we had no choice but to get married here. There is no other wedding space quite like it. It's absolutely stunning, enchanting, romantic, and storybook-like. This is the true epitome of a "fairytale wedding." At first, their contract seemed overwhelming, along with the guest expectations. In reality, we quickly learned that they know what works and have everything down to an absolute science. We were hyper vigilant to follow the rules of the venue and quickly learned that they are truly there to make sure you have the wedding of your dreams. Their detailed contract was extremely clear in expectations and helped us share that out to other vendors and guests. Follow their guidance and you have a guaranteed beautiful wedding. It is an expensive venue, but hopefully the following piece of insight can help sway your decision. You can cut costs by finding off season times or week days to get married and the venue is so gorgeous that you don't even need to spend much money on decor or florals. Plus, assuming all SEMs are as incredible as Jo Ann, you truly have a wedding planner embedded in your contract. As teachers, we also really appreciated our discount. It will still be pricey, but it was worth every single cent we spent. In addition, Nestldown values their vendors. We mostly followed their recommended vendors and were equally impressed with their professionalism and talent. It takes a village! All our guests were absolutely blown away. We fell in love with Nestldown's magic the first time we toured the venue. We booked the date ~1 year in advance and held our wedding here in August. The beauty of the venue speaks for itself, but the team that works there also deserves to be recognized. Ashley was our event coordinator and was very communicative and supportive throughout the whole process. On the day of the wedding, there ended up being a 2-hour delay due to an accident on highway 17 causing terrible traffic. The competency and professionalism of Ashley and the Nestldown team became really apparent in the face of challenge (calling highway patrol constantly for updates, being flexible and creative with the timeline, coordinating with all of our vendors the last-minute changes, etc). We still ended up having a great time despite the delays, and the wedding day was memorable and special in its own way. We had our wedding in November at Nestldown, and it couldn't have been more magical! Courtney, our coordinator, and the rest of the venue's staff were so amazing. Everyone worked so hard to make our day flow seamlessly. The location is so beautiful that it's not an exaggeration to say I fell in love with it as soon as we walked out of the parking lot. I didn't have a full vision of what I wanted our wedding to look like, but I knew I wanted it to feel magical and whimsical and I don't know if we could've found a better place. The trees and gardens are gorgeous any time of the year and everywhere you look there's some hidden treasure tucked away around a corner. Aside from how visually stunning the grounds are, their staff and our coordinator really made it very easy for us to be able to plan everything without needing to hire a professional wedding planner. I was very overwhelmed with the idea of needing to find so many different vendors so I was really pleased to see that they had a required and recommended vendors list to choose from. It made it very easy to narrow down the search and we knew that if a vendor was on their list, it meant they had to be good so it felt like we couldn't go wrong! A lot of the vendors on their lists have also worked tons of weddings together at Nestldown so they already knew each other and how to work well as a team. We worked very closely with our coordinator throughout the year so when our wedding day finally arrived, we knew there wasn't a single thing we had to worry about. Our coordinator took charge as soon as we arrived at the venue and made sure to get us from place to place on time and efficiently. Everything ran smoothly and every detail was seen to so all we had to do was enjoy ourselves and be present. Came here for a retreat. This place is magical to the point of being unreal. They have such beautifully maintained grounds. Dream venue. Fairytale. Our guests can't stop talking about it! From the initial tour with Joann to the exit in the London taxi, everything was perfect AND easy. Chatting with Joann about our story during the tour was so enjoyable. Wedding planning can be chaotic but Nestldown's staff keeps everything on track. This brings me to Ashley. She takes charge and makes it happen. But, she's also very calming and you know your day is going to go perfectly! She answered emails quickly which I always appreciate. The rest of the staff was helpful too and the close relationship each of them have with the vendors we chose from their list was really great to see. Makes a bride feel like they're in good hands. I don't know if the venue needs my recommendation because it truly is a dream and as a guest told me, "This is every girl's dream venue." This is more of a kudos to Ashley and team. Writing this as a former Nestldown bride and a guest! Overall experience my husband and I give as a bridal couple: 9.5/10 VENUE: We've visited at different times of the year, and Nestldown's beauty shone through each of them. The guesthouse is also beautiful, and my bridesmaids and I enjoyed getting ready there. The chapel is so cool and several of our guests, even those from regions of the world where it snows all the time, felt like they had escaped the heat when they were under the shade of the redwoods. It's also very hard to not be relaxed here :) COMMUNICATION: Communication was prompt, clear, and professional at various points in our wedding planning journey. It was easy to schedule a tour before we booked the venue. PEOPLE: We were so lucky to work with Diana and Danielle to help us plan our wedding. They were incredibly flexible when we had to move our wedding due to COVID, and they offered great advice at every step. They always relaxed us, and we consistently felt less stressed after meeting with them than we did earlier in the day. You are really lucky if you get either of them-we wouldn't have wanted any other SEMs! VENDORS: The vendors we chose were great, but we did find that some of the catering ones did not reply to us when we wanted to inquire about different menus and prices. In the end, this was something we almost forgot about, but it was a little stressful when we were planning and deciding if this was the venue for us. In the end, we went with Poetry in Motion who was on top of everything and cooked delicious food. She even accommodated a vegan main plate for some of our guests. DAY OF THE WEDDING: Nestldown is very organized, but the schedule is very tight and fast-paced (and we don't think this would be a fit for everyone, but this is just the reality of having a traditional and "big" wedding). At the same time, the day flew by. MISCELLANEOUS: -Lots of our guests got wonderful photos (some even for their Christmas card). -There's also a baby grand piano in the barn, which allowed my talented husband to play me a song before dinner in front of our guests. My uncle and brother-in-law, who are also musicians, were able to play along, too! This was definitely a highlight for everyone. -You can donate to Nestldown's equine therapy and in return have horses or ponies out during cocktail hour. Our guests absolutely loved this experience, as did we. -The London taxi makes for a great photo opp (and the driver was very friendly) CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK: While we would recommend Nestldown to others, we do have a little bit of feedback for improvement. First, they ask you to have some friends be greeters before the ceremony. This is not a difficult task, but it was unfortunately difficult to find friends we felt would have the personality (and clear English (many of our friends are not native English speakers)) for this be willing to commit. It caused us a ton of stress, and on the day of our wedding, Nestldown told us that one of their staff members could have just greeted. This would have been so nice to know earlier. Second, my mother and mother-in-law both noticed how, as if we were on a military schedule, cleaners came out to the dance floor the second our rental was over. We were already getting our things, but this awkward moment left my mother and mother-in-law baffled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OUR EXPERIENCE AS GUESTS: We were fortunate enough to celebrate my first mother's day at Nestldown's first annual Mother's Day brunch in 2023! We had a delightful time. Poetry in Motion catered and served delicious food. We especially liked the photos that we got in front of the little fantasy house from the professional photographer. Had a winter wedding this last year and it was the most magical day and it is all thanks to Nestldown! Brigette was our SEM and she was the best ! She was so patient and helpful with any questions we had about our special day. We had some last minute changes and she was on top of it and everything turned out perfect ! While this site is absolutely beautiful, I really want to recognize the staff that was very kind and helpful. There are many event options & the event we attended was very well run and managed for a large space. People make the difference! Disclaimer: I only attended a wedding here so I have nothing to say about price or anything. I just have thoughts about the location. Nestldown is hands down the most beautiful wedding venue I've visited and this is coming from someone who has been to many weddings. Every angle was picturesque and there were magical touches everywhere. You feel like you're truly transported from the busyness of the outside world. There were tons of redwood trees, a beautiful lake, a sweet treehouse, a barnyard, a fairytale-esque cottage, epic sand sculptures, and so much more. After in person visits to 13 venues from temecula to santa barbara, between vineyards, golf courses, and everything else in between, Nestldown is the most epic and special venue you will ever find. How do we know? We literally met in person with all 13 venues above. Nestldown is the most class act venue, with the most incredible staff. They will treat you like family. We got married 9/9/22. JoAnn, Tracy, Miles and every other person at Nesltdown who helped us make this the most special day, absolutely went out of their way, we're SO kind, and did everything they could to make our day seamless. I cannot express enough the gratitude we have for the entire team. it is a beautiful clean venue, they have horticulturists on site to ensure the property is well kept, and they just really truly care. We felt like family and are going to be in touch for life with Nestldown.
