Passes serious faults onto the customer - Dishonest practices…read more I bought a car from Arnold Clark in 2016, I realized that the windscreen had a crack on it covered by pigeon poo. Trying to get this repaired was like pulling teeth but eventually they authorized the replacement of the windscreen. Not long after I noticed after the first bout of wet weather that the windscreen wiper was violently hitting the pillar, then soon after the car started losing power. My brother took the car in for repair, I asked him to make sure the wipers get fixed, he was told at the time "Thats common and nothing to worry about." I was not happy with this explanation though and told the Arnold Clark rep that I wanted it fixed. I was promised a call back (which never came). Fast forward to February 2017 and the car maintenance light comes on, I took the card to Arnold Clark as its still in warranty and amongst other problems they tell me that the wiper linkage is worn and needs replaced at a cost of £485 pounds. I tell them that I had already reported this and they have denied all knowledge that I had previously complained and because my 60 year warranty had expired then I would have to pay for it. I was told that I must have told the wrong person and they told me they have no record of this conversation. I even mentioned that a worn wiper linkage is mentioned on the advisory from 2014 but despite all this I am expected to beleive that the problem magically fixed itself between 2014 and June 2016 when they done another MOT just before selling it to me then in February 2017 its worn again? Its clear to me that Arnold Clark in are in the business of ignoring faults in order to pass the cost on to the customer. The complaints department were a waste of time and also told me this conversation where I complained about the wipers may or may not have happened but theres nothing that they would be willing to do. I was warned about Arnold Clark to be fair so more fool me but personally I would never ever deal with this company again and if asked I would advise others to steer clear.

Purchased from Arnold Clark Inverness - Peugeot…read more Since buying my car, I've had nothing but issues, from electrical faults, requiring a new ECU, damaged body work, loud noises from under the car and bonnet, and various other electrical faults. I've requested on numerous occasions for these issues to be inspected, they didn't so I then requested to return the vehicle but my request gets ignored. The car recently needed to go back in to Audi (3rd time) as there were further electrical issues. Upon further inspection from Audi, they found the cars rear sub frame was barely holding together and had been rotting away for years. Audi described this as the worst car they'd ever seen and said the car was dangerous and advised it should not to be driven. Upon further investigating, the MOT conducted independently in Mar 2023, highlighted the sub frame was rotting away. The MOT was carried out again in Oct 2023 by Arnold Clark and they neglected to add this to the MOT, or even repair it the faulty part. I have sent all the information including video footage of the frame falling away in the Audi technicians hands to Arnold Clark, I've contacted them via email and phone and no one will call me back. I requested a refund within the timescale specified and I have requested it again based on the finding from Audi stating this is a dangerous vehicle, however they're not responding to me. Unfortunately I'm unable to upload image in order for people to see how poor condition this vehicle is in. Arnold Clarks MOT centre should be investigated for malpractice. This is serious and Arnold Clark will not take this seriously.

Sadly I am having to write a really poor review for this branch, which having bought in the region…read moreof 12 cars over the years from Arnold Clark, this is the first I have had any problems. I had reguarly been told that once the sale is signed with Arnold, their aftersales care was awful - which to date I had disagreed with. But have to say, that on this occassion, I found out exactly what people were talking about. Although, I now have the various problems sorted (which by the way were not related to the car but the way in which the sale had been done, i.e. paperwork and transactions etc) it took me having to involve Arnold Clark's Head Office before I got to where I need to be. Despite promise after promise after promise after promise from my salesperson, nothing was materialising and Arnold Clark certainly wasnt meeting my expectations and it took 5 months to sort out issues that could have been sorted in a matter of minutes! This is why I have given them such a poor rating - so whilst I am not saying don't use Arnold Clark overall, just keep your eye on the ball with the aftersale service. Addition on 07/02/09 - I am adding further to this, as since I made further comments about the service, I have recieved further reimbursement for technically out of pocket - so at least the Company has continued to try to resolve the issues.
