I recently went to South Africa and Zimbabwe…read more Prior to traveling, I had to see a medical professional to determine what medications and vaccinations to take. I would up at Tallahassee Primary Associates as my current PCP's office is incompetent and gave me another clinic that never called me back. Upon further research, my companion gave me this place as he sees his PCP here, and additionally and more importantly for me, they have a travel clinic where they specialize specifically for my type of scenario. I filled out their form online with my travel itinerary, and within two days, I was called to set up an appointment. The week after I saw Marcia and she set me up for success with my travels, providing medications, vaccinations, and plenty of health information as well. Needless to say, given this entire experience, I am seriously debating changing PCP. I have nothing against my current PCP, but the office staff there has proven time and time again to be inefficient. Regardless, I'm sure I'll be back here again at some point. I'm not aware of another travel clinic in the city.

Turned paperwork in, May, Now August. Don't put down you are accepting new patients when you are not. Also, schedule an appointment when paperwork gets turned in, even though you don't tell anyone you need it until you try to schedule an appointment. Your staff is rude and does not want to help anyone either.

The only reasons I don't rate her higher is her office staff. They are not good at following up with your test results. It truly is spotty or hit or miss with them, so you have to make sure you call them when they are dropping the ball. Despite the office short comings everyone is very nice and friendly. I have recommended her to several friends, who were informed about the office lack of follow up, & and all but one are still going to her as well as some of their family members too. She is a very good doctor!

However, the poor communication and unprofessional nature of her support staff led me to find another doctor. When I first contacted Dr. Thompson's office to set up a new patient appointment, I had to reach out three times over the course of several weeks in order to have the new patient paperwork sent to me. This should have been a red flag. Several months later I needed to have an immunization verification form signed in order to sign up for a class at FSU. What should have been a quick signature turned into a drawn out ordeal in which my emails inquiring about the status of the form went unanswered, and I ultimately had to show up to the office when it opened in the morning to obtain the form. While the receptionist apologized and chalked it up to the office being short staffed, the fact that I reached out on five separate occasions to remind her about the form before coming into the office myself leads me to believe otherwise.

The phlebotomist could not find a vein and she was hurting so bad I had to tell her to stop and then I went to LabCorp to have them do the labs. It was a nightmare. Dr. Standridge by doing this puts the phlebotomist in an awkward situation and the patient In harm's way. Dr. Standridge is not experienced enough to be in charge of a medical facility. I was kept waiting while staff had Panera delivered in and ate their lunch as I waited an hour in the examining room. My blood pressure medication was too high and caused problems and should have been monitored every few months, but dr. Standridge did not see me for almost a year. Went in for pain and they did an x-ray and they would not call me with the results or give me the diagnosis. I was in pain and the diagnosis was significant enough where they should have prescribed relief and treatment. Fortunately, I have a specialist who I went to and they got the X-ray and gave me the diagnosis and treatment. This is the worst doctor I have ever seen and will be writing a complaint to the State Medical Board and also a complaint against the nurse who oversees complaints and attempts to cover up Dr Standridge's deplorable actions. Avoid this office at all costs.
