Think of this not as a winery as you would in the California style. It's a liqueur tasting that enhances the finer agriculture of Vermont. Ginger liqueur is wonderful- sweet with strong flavors and I already knew it would make wonderful mixed drinks. The chocolate liqueur was delicious as was the apple maple wine. All sweet so go with the perspective of how to enrich a wine based cocktail or a champagne cocktail. If you're a dessert wine lover it's definitely for you. We ended up buying ginger and apple maple. Go try out the tasting and decide for yourself!

Kim walked us through each sip and went further in recommending a stellar restaurant in nearby Brattleboro. Kim was so friendly and kind to all five of us, even though she was in the midst of a tasting with another group. This didn't effect the attention she showed us in the slightest. We will be ordering their cranberry wine two months from due to how lovely the experience and the taste was. If you're in the area and would like a variety of dry to sweet fruit wines and liqueurs, please stop by and tell Kim hello for us!

The owners, who are multi generational farmers work the land, share story behind how their wines came to be and some of what you can expect to taste. It's unpretentious, and feels like you're visiting a family, friend or cousin. Their tastings allow you to try whatever your palate is drawn to, or you can sample all of their offerings. Feel free to bring your own food including cheese and crackers, or sweet confections to pair with the wines. Our three favorites were the maple wine, the St. Croix, and the ruby red. The apple and peach wines are also very unique and flavorful. The winery specializes in cold-weather varietals, and whether you are a fan of sweet or dry wines you will likely find something that hits the spot.

We tried about 8 different wines varying in flavors (peach, honey, apple, sweet and dry red) and they're all made by the lovely couple who run the vineyard. Truly felt like "eating/drinking locally". They have a beautiful front porch overlooking their vineyard and barn. The best part was Mark and Pepper, their cat and dog who hung out with us while tasting! Thank you Amy!

It was my companion's first ever wine…read moretasting; I fear that the Charlotte Village Winery experience has spoiled him and now no other tasting room will live up to this one. Wine tasting is $3 per person for the full menu of wines. The wines are GOOD - just as delicious as they are unique. The wines are unique, too; nearly all of the grape wines utilize imported grapes, so a majority of the wines grown on site are made from berries. All of the wines are very good, but I have no words for how beautiful the dry blueberry wine is - you'll have to pay the three dollars for the tasting and see what I mean. It is BEYOND. Our wine guide was charismatic, knowledgeable, and a delight to chat with. We only spoke with one staff member and I sadly did not catch her name but the summer staff is so kind and knowledgeable about the business that I'm sure the entire team is a treasure to the Charlotte community. My only regret is that I didn't pick up more of the blueberry wine. Oh well. I am not from this area but will certainly be ordering more wine online for years to come. Thank you, Charlotte Village Winery!
