My massage at Lily Spa was one of the best I have ever had. The room itself was a calm and…read morerelaxing environment, with soft music playing. Although I had asked for a deep tissue massage, Lily was still careful to ask occasionally if the pressure she was using was alright. Her technique is definitely a mix of Chinese, Thai and other deep tissue techniques. She also used hot stones over a soft towel on my back, working on my arms while my back relaxed further, so she could then work more deeply on the problem areas. Lily Spa is a tiny storefront that you might not otherwise notice, but the door opens into a lovely, quiet, and peaceful place - perfectly clean and private. This place only accepts appointments and if you have a Groupon deal, definitely mention it. My appointment was for 10AM and right now they have construction out front so it was hard to tell where it was located thank goodness, I read on Yelp that it was in a strip mall. It's clean and looks like the owner and wife works here. They barely speak English but as long as you tell them who you are and they should have you down. They started right away. I had the guy name William and he showed me into a room. This is one of those places where they want you to strip down to your under garments. I'm not really too comfortable and it helps that there a sheer blanket and towel to cover you up and you will face down first 45 mins and the last 15 mins facing up with a bigger blanket. The Groupon I had was just ONE hour massage. So when he started it was weird like he just went for it and I just wanted to tell him my concern cause I have tensions in my neck, shoulders and upper back. But he just pressed my spine and went down and the whole time it was DRY HANDS. It was not a typical massage I'm used to. He barely massage but more pressure points all over the body. I couldn't stand the dry hands against my back and skin. Finally I heard him got lotion and it was COLD and massage that on my back. After that, it was a VERY HOT TOWEL on my back. This is like a rollar coaster ride, couldn't tell what's going to help next. When I finally faced upward, he untied my hair and started massaging my forehead, ear and then my scalp. Ummm, not really a fan of that... felt like it was scratching my head. and then massage the limbs and when he was done he would lift my left and drop 3 times. I was so glad it was over. I'm not sure this massage is for me. I did tip them after the massage. They gave me a tiny cup of water to drink so I can get rid of toxins after the massage. Then the lady walked out from another room and asked if i tipped before I reach the door out of there, I was like yes. Her husband looked at her and she apologized. I felt like I shouldn't be asked to tipped. Felt very odd now. If you don't care and want to try a massage that is different this is a place for you. I more of a person who like the deep tissue or Sweden type where they work the muscles more than the points.

I was thrilled to get one the same day I called! I didn't detail the issues I was having for her, but as someone else mentioned, she was readily able to tell and worked the right areas hard. That bit was not relaxing of course, but it was definitely what was needed, as I am already experiencing increased mobility and less pain compared to when I went in. I appreciated that she did some stretching as well. As someone else mentioned, she did (very apologetically) run out to answer the phone a couple of times during my 90-minute session, so if that's a problem for you, this may not be your place. It's a single-person operation and to stay in business, they need to get & keep their appointment books full, and the rates are lower than a lot of other places. I 100% felt I got my money's worth in time and treatment and would have taken time to schedule my next appointment on the spot if the next person hadn't been there ready for their turn. :)
