While my husband's death was expected, it is never easy when it actually occurs. Perhaps 2 years ago, I was in touch with Neptune Society in Florida where I live, and I had a basic understanding of the service being offered, did not take a contract at the time, and the actual death occurred New Jersey. Alvin Chan was a blessing! From the moment I reached him, we were able to communicate easily, he understood everything I was trying to achieve overall, and he worked with me seamlessly to make it happen. There were many moving parts, but on his end he achieved everything ahead of schedule, was patient when I had delays, and especially the delay of our chosen urn being shipped up from home in Florida, but he was steadfast in supporting our wishes and everything went without a moment of anxiety. I am proud of the work that Neptune does, and so grateful for the kindness, compassion, and professionalism shown by Alvin to my family. He happened to be a great guy, extremely warm and caring. It was a pleasure to have him available to us, and he went out of his way to accommodate me including meeting with me in my lobby when necessary. I couldn't have asked for more! Alvin Chan is absolutely amazing at what he does! Let's start with I called him 5 weeks before my father died and walked me through the process of what would be done (wasn't sure at the time what my fathers wishes were but needed to start some kind of process) so being busy spending my last moments with my father I waited until the last minute and had to call Alvin at 3am on a Saturday (with hospice you MUST have funeral arrangements made prior to your loved one passing otherwise you will be forced to make them at whatever time your loved one passes no matter the time) anyways even being away on a weekend getaway he answered my call and started the process with me, he called the guys for them to pick up my father and that Monday I was in his office making my arrangements, Alvin is so professional, compassionate and he bent over backwards for all of our request and very patient with us. My family was very happy with him as well and couldn't stop saying how wonderful he was. Can't thank him enough for everything! A couple of months ago, I was faced with the unexpected loss of a childhood friend and the sudden reality that I would be responsible for her funeral arrangements. As she wished to be cremated I had the task of quickly finding an organization that would help us under these difficult circumstances. Neptune Cremation Society turned out to be a godsend. My father had been in declining health for one year when I contacted Neptune to preplan his desire to be cremated. I met with a member of the team who walked me through what Neptune offered as well as all of the paperwork to make sure that when the time came, Neptune would take care of everything. When Dad did pass recently, Alvin Chin called and actually came to my home to finalize the details and explain what the timeline would be for me to take possession of Dad's remains. 6 days later, Mr. Chin once again came to my home with Dad's remains and offered any additional assistance I may need. I have a unique situation where we needed to prepay for cremation services, have a letter written to verify purchase for Medicaid, as well as send the ashes to Slovakia.
