Beautiful sunrise. Growing up on the beach, my whole life it brought me back home. Nothing like a beach sunrise to cleanse the mind, body, and soul.

We stopped at a nearby restaurant and then wandered down to Neptune Beach to find a geocache. Yes, I'm a nerd. The beach was very clean and easy to walk barefoot on. I got done great pictures here. Pretty place.

Went here on a whim. Haven't been to this beach in a bit, and was happy to make a return. Parking can be a bit gnarly, but there are some pay to park lots, that way you're not wasting your whole day looking for a spot. We went to the beach access where Lemon Bar is located. We walked along the little walkway and voila, there's the beach. If you haven't been to this beach before or haven't been there in a while, you'll notice that the dunes are built up SUPER high. While not that aesthetically pleasing, it's there for a purpose and I can get behind that. We came when it was high tide, so there wasn't a ton of space to sprawl out. The beach was clean, the sand is soft, and the views are breathtaking. Accessibility-wise, I'd say this isn't the most friendly and I'd recommend finding another beach access. The drop from the walkway wasn't huge, but not conducive and the walk up the walkway was a bit trying. Pros: -Clean beach -Beautiful location -Great location near shops and restaurants Cons: -Dunes are built up Tips: If you don't want to spend your day looking for parking bite the bullet and pay at a pay lot.

Excellent beach to relax on. Family friendly, and lots of friendly people. Atmosphere is a little touristy (which I was ) but it wasn't overly crowded at the time. Beach was clean and waves were crisp. It's not the clearest water you'll ever run into but this beach is a winner if you don't want to go too far into Florida. At the time, I was living in Georgia and this was a short drive for a fun time! Definitely recommend.

About 11 years ago was my first time to Neptune Beach- John and I had made the 4 hour drive up from the Tampa Bay Area to visit his parents. They live right on the other side of the intercoastal- so this was the closest beach to their house and one of the first places I got to explore in Jacksonville. I've seen numerous sunrises here, played in the water, or just sat in the sand enjoying the life around me. Kids playing, gulls crying, people riding bikes or walking dogs or just sitting back and enjoying the beach like me. This beach is great because of the proximity to restaurants- but that is also a curse for finding parking. It is one of those perfect little beach town beaches, right in our own backyard.

One of the most relaxing beaches to visit in January. Perfect weather and not crowded at all. Will review more when I get home. Enjoying my toes in the sand now...

I came here for one reason only. Sunrise. So my opinion of the beach is based purely on that as I have never visited any other time of the day but when I got there, for a Sunrise, there were already of ton of people there which generally I do not find the case for the early mornings. It was clean, wide open and delivered an amazing sunrise while visiting the Jacksonville area. So exactly what I wanted. I can imagine this area gets super busy since it is located next to all the shopping and restaurants so I can imagine this wouldn't be a beach I would go to often if I lived here to avoid crowds but for the morning sunrise, it was perfect!

Wonderful beach in N Florida east of Jacksonville. I visited in February to relax and visit a few sites. The beach was clean and wasn't overcrowded and I felt safe the entire time. The water was a bit cold so I had no desire to swim at the time. Winter is a great time to visit and get some much need Vitamin D and exercise at the same time! Beautiful sun rises also! I would recommend them any time of the yr, just make sure you pay the parkin meters and have your tag number handy. Lots of shopping and foodie spots to try out!

What a beautiful beach! It's located just north of Jacksonville Beach and on the border of Atlantic Beach. It has the same wide, deep layout. The water was a comfortable temperature in late May, with huge powerful waves. There is no pier, restroom, or change rooms, but it's beautiful and fun, nonetheless. Quite a bit of reasonably priced parking near this beach is located at the end of Atlantic Avenue; it's cost us just over $5 for 3 hours. There's also lots of restaurants nearby to grab a bite in the Marketplace (casual to fine dining).

Best slice of classic ocean imho. So peaceful. Ok for dogs after 5 or before 9am. Service animals in vests and leash welcome. Hit the lemon bar!

Neptune Beach is my favorite local beach. I can usually find parking without much of a problem and just walk down to the shore either before or after dining at one of the many restaurants in the town center there. This area is never overcrowded and is the perfect place to find peace and serenity when needed. My sons love it as well!

We had a wonderful time the beach was clean the lifeguards were attentive. The water was much more clean than expected. Lots of things to do along the strip. Parking was available close by with a short walking distance for just $20. We had a great time.

Lovely beach located in Duval County. Nicely kept and clean with plenty of public access. There is parking to be had, but you must search for it. The "Beaches Town Center" is located here and is a nice little area with many restaurants, bars, and stores. It is pedestrian friendly, with traffic lights and cross walks at every intersection, designed to slow automobile traffic to a crawl. Many people ride their bikes here too, but that appeared quite awkward to me because it doesn't seem to be as bike friendly. People kept having to jump on and off their bike to cross streets and avoid pedestrians.

Can anyone tell me can i bring my dog, we were tossed off jax beach and told we could go to this beach by the jax beach police but by the looks of the sign in the photo they have the same rules no dogs 9 to 5?

At this time of year you can walk your dog on a leash on the beach before 9am and after 5pm.

Is it easy to find parking in neptune beach? What is the closest parking lot?

No it is not easy to find parking. The city has implemented a paid parking program for almost ALL parking spots in Neptune Beach. You can park for free along A1A.

First off, the free parking deserves its own standing ovation. Pull in, park, no stress, no drama, no circling like you are hunting for buried treasure. That alone already put everyone in a good mood. But the real star of the day was the ocean. The Atlantic Ocean was doing its thing like it always does, loud, endless, and a little dramatic in the best way. The waves would roll in all calm and pretty, and then suddenly act like they had something to prove when they hit the shore. My family spent half the time just watching the water like it was a live show we all agreed to attend. The kids were running in and out of the surf like the ocean was a game level they were trying to beat. Meanwhile the adults were pretending to be chill but really just trying not to get knocked over by surprise waves or lose a sandal to the sea forever. There was something about standing there with salt air, wind blowing, and that huge stretch of ocean in front of us that made everything feel simple in the best way. No schedules, no rush, just waves, laughs, and somebody always saying "don't go too far!" We ate, we laughed, we got sandy in places we will not discuss in public, and we loved every minute of it. Five stars. Great KY family day, perfect Atlantic Ocean views, and free parking that should honestly be illegal for how convenient it was.

Recently, I had brunch, and then we hit up several shops on First Street. So many options, a book store, several unique boutiques and a reasonably priced souvenir shop. And many restaurants choices, seafood, Italian, Asian, plus a few taverns. You can usually catch live music at a few spots on the weekend. If you are not hungry and do not want to shop, you can try the cigar bar, or stop in for a drink at the oldest bar at the beach, Pete's, established in 1933. Lemon Bar is beside the beach and offers light fair and drinks. There is one high end hotel, One Ocean. Even if you're not staying there, I suggest stopping by their lounge for a drink. It is gorgeous and they offer unique cocktails, plus a nice patio. Or for a little less, stay at the Seahorse Inn, which has access to the Lemon Bar near the pool. I'm a huge fan of Atlantic Beach. But the one downside is parking. There used to be free street parking but now you must pay the parking machine for nearly every spot. There is one parking lot in the heart of it all, but be prepared to pay between $10-$20, depending on the time of year. There is one other city owned lot between First and Second Street.

This area of Jax Beach is residential, so there isn't a parking lot full of spaces, but they did have on street parking. I found a spot that was in front of a house and behind my sister's car and opted to park there. Parking was easy and it's not super busy in this area, due to it being residential. After parking, Nugget and I had about a block walk, which isn't bad. Beware, if you have a toddler they'll want to help lug some of your stuff to the beach, but after about a minute exclaim "Mommy, can you carry this?". Luckily I traveled pretty light. There's a small walkway that leads to the beach, which is half wood and half sand. The beach is pristine, with a ton of places to sit. We came on a cooler and cloudier day, so our experience may not be the typical experience. When the tide is out, there are long stretches to walk, so you can get your exercise in, or take a leisurely walk. The beach was clean and equipped with garbage cans. I would most certainly come back to this location. Pros: -On street parking only a block away from the beach -Clean beach -Long stretches of beach to walk/exercise -Quiet Cons: -No bathrooms Tips: Make sure you park in a designated on street parking spot and don't block someone's driveway.
