When you think of a golf club restaurant, do you think of an excellent Chinese restaurant with some interesting Malaysian and nonya touches? No? Well, that's exactly what you get at the Nepean Country Club Chinese Restaurant. In the most unlikely of places, you will find excellent Chinese food. Everything here is house made by the chef and co-owner, who is Singaporean-Chinese (hence the presence of dishes such as laksa and cha kuey teow on the menu). I could not fault any of the dishes we enjoyed with the crispy skin duck being a standout. I read negative comments on this forum about the service. That was not our experience. The people we dealt with were efficient and friendly. Drinks were incredibly cheap ($7 for a glass of perfectly fine riesling) and the whole meal, with drinks, cost us $60 each, and we left full. The room is large, light, and spacious and the tables are very well spaced. We will definitely be returning. This is some of the best Asian food on the Peninsula. Just note that they are open for dinner only from Wednesday to Saturday, and lunch Sunday only. read more
