Found a good one here. With its swanky decorating and diverse menu you should be able to find yourself having a nice lunch or dinner at Neoteca. With Peroni on tap the Fennel sausage pizza we had with side dishes went down perfectly. The Salumi plater was fresh and very tasty, it could of had more bread. The bruschetta selection we made was done well with a great blend of flavors, I don't think you can miss on any that they offer. I asked my besties to be my bridesmaids for my wedding at Neoteca. Even though it was quite a drive for me to get there I still don't regret my choice. My boyfriend and I ended up here late Monday night. The interior is very trendy, mostly modern dark decor complimented by pops of color through its artworks and lighting. It's beautiful, they brought Chicago downtown to Barrington's downtown. I also love that they have a wine vault and a brick pizza oven. The night started off rocky and frustrating, after being seated on the patio by the bartender... 25 minutes pass and not a single person came to our table to take our drink/food order or even drop off glasses of water. I felt invisible. There were only 5 parties dinning that evening with 3 waiters staffed. We were seated in plain sight, I made eye contact with 2 different waitresses and I saw one watching the tv at some point. There was no reasonable explanation as to why no one would approached our table or even checked in to see if we've been helped. I made it painfully obvious that we were looking for a waitress. Needless to say we were very frustrated with the situation. My bf ended up having to go inside to address this. They were very apologetic and we honestly would've left to another restaurant but it was already late in the evening and we were hungry! The manager, Nick ended up serving us. Let me just take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate him, he really saved the night and our dinning experience! He was super nice, friendly, and well informed. He went above and beyond! Now to the good stuff: food and drinks! Spoiler alert, it did not disappoint. DRINKS: I loved how the beers and craft cocktails came out in frosted and chilled glasses - yuuum! The cocktails were pretty good, I ordered the Elderflower Spritz and the Limoncello. I look forward to trying other cocktails next time. Despite being a wine bar, I did not any wine options on the menu, maybe there was a separate wine menu that they did not give us. FOOD: We defiantly ordered the whole menu, like I said we were hungry! The bruschettas were delicious, they have an assortment of options, we chose eggplant, artichoke and traditional. All 3 are worth a try! We also ordered a cheese platter with a side of zucchini and veggies, I liked that they have a decent selection of salami and cheeses to compliment your wine. The standout cheeses for us were the white cheddar and truffle cheese! Arrancini balls were just okay nothing memorable or outstanding. I wouldn't order it again. The Bianca was amazing!! Solid place with flavorful food. I visited here on a Thursday night around 7 pm. There were plenty of tables available which allowed for quick seating. There are multiple menus presented, including a bruschetta menu. The bruschetta choices looked good, but I didn't order. You get to pick three varieties for $12, but only get 1 piece of each. The pieces were large, but this format doesn't really allow for sharing. Lots of wine choices, but there seemed to be some choices available on the wine flight menu that were missing from the full drink menu (not sure if that was intentional). Calamari was good. It comes with marinara, lemons and fried banana peppers. It had a good crisp to it, but no burnt flavor. The margarita pizza was decent, but not great. It's Neapolitan style but the crust was super wet and sloppy as you got towards the middle of the pizza. It was lacking basil as well; I counted 5 tiny leaves. Other than the sloppiness and lack of basil, the flavors were solid. Server was attentive and prices were moderate. Bathroom was clean and well maintained, but only cold water available to wash hands. With a few adjustments, they can go from a 3 to a low 4 star rating. read more

I've bern here a few times now. Good neopolitan styled pizzas, but not true ones. They have a good chewy crust that holds up well. Maybe a hair thicker than a Neopolitan. Loved the carne pizza. Nearly room temperature pizza, mozzarella cheese that is stick to itself in a chunky way that makes it slide right off the underdone, soggy crust. The only thing about this place I would consider fine dining is the prices. Whilst a pizza will only set you back $11-15, keep in mind it is the size of a large dinner plate. Had the Margherita pizza for an early dinner today, since I'd been ready to try this place for the past couple of months. The good news: the crust was tasty, crispy, and done almost perfectly. The pizza also had more than enough mozzarella on it and the sauce was freshly made (or at least tasted like it) and had just the right-sized bits of tomato in it--not full slices or huge cubes. The bad news: a Margherita pizza is supposed to present its three main colors and flavors equally...the basil was relegated to a deep third place. As summer ends, one really wants to be reminded of the fresh produce we have available to us. Let us taste the produce, Neoteca! Some may worry that the price is a little Chicago-like instead of suburban, but they are mainly catering to the Barrington wine-drinking crowd. I'll give them another try in the future for sure, but I may pass on the same pizza. At least there are a lot to try. We ordered three pizzas and I had the bruschetta sampler. The pizza had a brick fired crust that was so fluffy with the right amount of crispiness. The bread for the bruschetta was on par with the pizza crust. If you're in the Barrington area or near it I would highly recommend this place for a seemingly authentic Italian fare.
