Neoteca lives up to expectations time and time again! I tried the hot honey pizza and the vodka sauce pizza--both were incredible. The crust was perfectly charred, the flavors were bold, and everything tasted super fresh. The vibe is relaxed, the wine list is great, and it's the kind of place you'll want to come back to. The new ownership (summer 2025) has been making numerous improvements and I'm excited to see what they have planned.

Everything about our dinner was incredible. We started with the Gamberi -- head-on blue prawns with Italian salsa verde -- perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Chicken Parmesan was crispy, tender, and beautifully balanced, and the Honey Brioche Toast for dessert was a show-stopper. We paired it all with a stunning Barbaresco from De Forville, an amazing wine and great value. Fantastic food, warm atmosphere, and friendly service -- Neoteca is a true gem!

Really enjoyed our first dine in experience at Neoteca. It's been recommended to us a few times, so we finally tried it. The restaurant has an open and modern aesthetic, with a mix of tables and hi-tops. There's a good size outdoor patio as well with a lot of tables with umbrellas. The menu has a mix of appetizers, salads, pizzas and pastas. Enough options that we'll plan to go back a few more times to try more items from the menu. On this first visit we ordered the grilled chicken salad and the hot honey pepperoni pizza. The grilled chicken on the salad was grilled to perfection and had a lot of flavor. The hot honey pizza was good, crisp crust, and a good balance of savory with a hint of spicy honey. Honestly, I wouldn't mind more of the honey flavor. We enjoyed our first trip to Neoteca and will be back to try out more of the menu.

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile so I'm glad I was able to finally check it out. Upon arrival I opted for patio seating since our dog was with us. It was pretty hot out but the patio seating was in the shade so that helped. We didn't wait long to order or for the food to come out so that was nice. Dog friendly - Yay! It's not easy to find dog friendly restaurants in the suburbs (ie. Schaumburg area) so I'm happy when I can find one that is! -Our waiter didn't provide a dog water bowl but another waitress saw our dog towards the end of our meal and provided us with one. Parking - plenty of free parking available Food Chicken Parmesan Panini ($15 lunch special) - the panini comes with a side salad (a good deal). The panini was okay, a little too salty for my taste buds. The salad was okay as well, complements the panini) Truffle fries ($11) - comes with aioli dipping sauce, overall it was okay. Seasoning was just right. Burrata wood fired pizza ($19) - the pizza was okay (not the best I've had). It was hard eating the burrata cheese (that's in the center of the 'za) with the pizza. Overall, the food was okay. I'd like to try other food items from their menu next time. I'll be back when I'm in the area.

New ownership is making small but important changes. I'm obsessed with the truffle fries, they are crispy, delicious and enhanced by the aioli. I was surprised by the arancini, I don't usually like peas, but they were bright and fresh and complimented with a hint of red pepper. The caprese pizza was incredible, my favorite thing I've tried so far. The French toast dessert was new and a great finish, very well balanced. The service was great and I really like the modern but welcoming feel of the space. Overall I had an excellent experience at Neoteca and will be back!

Casual Italian is a good description of this restaurant in the middle of downtown Barrington. It has kind of high prices, but it's good quality drinks and food. Neoteca isn't the only Italian restaurant in town, but it's the best one I think. Main items include the pizza, and there's plenty of shareable appetizers. There's also a happy hour for cheaper wines as well as small bites and plates. A few things are pretty expensive but some are more affordable. It has Italian beer such as Peroni for $6 in a big glass. There's also a happy hour on weekdays. It has a lot of pizzas that are pricy. These are about $18 each or so, which sucks but these are pretty nice though. Salads are a little more affordable. There's a good looking Kale Salad that's one of the few vegetarian items. For sure it's one of the healthier choices. This comes with apples, arugula, and walnuts. Big salad, helping with the kind of high cost. This is good for a lunch. For sure it's kind of expensive. It makes up for it kind of with good quality. They're also pretty fast at getting food out and there wasn't a long wait like many Italian restaurants.

We wanted to give Neoteca an out as I heard some chatter about them. Parking was easy in the back of the restaurant and was nicely greeted when we walked in. The restaurant was not very busy in the back of the bar right next to the kitchen doors. Not a very desirable spot but just went with it. We waited 5 to 10 minutes and no one came to check on us or ask us what we wanted to drink. We finally asked one of the staff walking i to the kitchen and he found who was there our server...who was sitting at the bar talking to one of his peers. We got started and got drinks ordered. The diet coke my wife ordered was not diet coke and could not find him. We finally got the bus staff to get a replacement. We ordered bruschetta and our main dishes. The bruschetta was not very good... had raw onions which overpower the bruschetta... not happy strike two as we couldn't find our server again and our drinks were empty. Our main dishes came out from the kitchen staff and noticed my wife's salad was drowning in a lot of dressing. There was a pool on the bottom of the bowl. The margarita pizza was okay... but had way to much sauce ... flavor was mmmeeh. Service remains poor and we find some to complain to and then found our server / bar tender. He took the salad off the bill and at this time we are done. The experience was poor. Food was not very good ... service was very poor and surprised since it was slow in the restaurant. My two cents ... take a pass on try Neoteca. It's not at the level of service and quality I would come to expect being in downtown barrington. We just wanted a nice night out with our two sons and it was a flop.

Space is great and service was attentive. I wanted to enjoy this place due to its previous reviews. There were three specific sour points to the F&B. The iced tea was bad, probably batch brewed and did not taste well (ie over-steeped) Thankfully, the waiter swapped immediately with a soda when I asked. Second were the parmesan chicken wing appetizer. The wings were seasoned and cooked well; there was a nice acid touch. However, there was a hair on one wing and we didn't finish. Lastly, I ordered the grape salad with salmon. The salmon was smoked and mildly luke warm. Albeit, I should have asked how it was prepared prior to ordering; I would have assumed our server would have shared its preparation. The Smokey salmon did not pair well with the components of the salad. Overall, neoTeca "can be good" if you stick to their hits (ie pizza, pasta, etc). Maybe I should have done that. But I would advise to not be too adventurous with the menu. read more

Owner needs a reality check. If you're a PIZZA place, it shouldn't be an issue if I ask for a pizza box to go when I didn't finish my pizza. Our waiter told us the owner doesn't like giving pizza boxes for leftovers-- only the plastic tray boxes. If im paying $22 for my 12 inch pizza and I don't finish it, I don't want to stack it up in a tiny plastic to go container. I also noticed a carry out fee if you pick up. You already raised your menu prices, why are we nickel and diming every little thing? read more

Had a lovely dinner and time at Neoteca for my birthday dinner with girlfriends. Very relaxing atmosphere and good service. We ordered several dishes and shared them. This place is perfect for the area. Great atmosphere, good food, and the prices are reasonable, which we can all appreciate. The pizzas are very good, so you don't have to go big on an entree if you aren't in the mood. The first time here, we sat at a table. Service was good, and the pizza we split was very good. The second time was a couple weeks later, and we sat at the bar and ordered food and drinks. Even better. The bartender was personable and he really knew his drinks, craft beer, and wine. Overall, an excellent value for a place with good food and drinks, and a shade on the casual side, so no need to get dressed up unless you want to. read more

This was the first time I have been to this restaurant. The ambience is very nice and the waitress Patricija was very attentive, professional and nice too. However the beef ravioli and artichoke appetizer was just ok (The mushroom ravioli was instead recommend). The sangria was very good though. I will definitely be back though for happy hour and try their pizza that was recommended. read more

I decided to give this place a chance to get out on a Saturday night. The ambiance was nice and the drink I was made was great but the customer service wasn't there. I mean I wasn't asked if I needed a second drink or if I wanted to order food. I just finished my drink and left. I wish I had a better experience. read more

Nice area/ outdoor seating! First tried the gnocchi, beef ravioli and bruschetta. Portion size - pretty small- not filling and we are not big portion eaters- but the pasta was well made . Bruschetta- bacon was almost non existent on most pieces. It did taste good . Service, idk if this was an "off night" Server was at best - adequate. The restaurant was not full . Basically got the food and then ignored. Suggestion; if the pasta portion are small provide bread platter or small vegetables. Nothing came with our dinner. read more

If you are a foodie this place is for you. Everything we ordered was amazing! Some suggestions are the lemon garlic wings with Parmesan-best wings we have ever had. The wood fire pizza was amazing with dollops of ricotta cheese on top. The beet salad with goat cheese and blueberry vinaigrette was so tasty, I added grilled chicken. The raspberry mojitos are a house specialty and delicious. This place is a 5 out of 5. Service was great too! Check it out! read more

Firstly, the menu is quite limited. Not a lot of choices, very few if you are vegetarian/vegan. Half the menu is not available for dinner. The pizzas are very bready, lack flavor and are just plain "boring". Pastas are dry and pretty much nothing to pay $20 for. Secondly, today our waiter had such a poor attitude, barely made an effort to get everyone's order ( we were a large group). He looked like he didn't want to be there. Poor service combined with a limited menu makes this a "not going back again" place for sure! read more

We have been trying to get to Neoteca for quite some time and finally got to try it out. Food here was delicious. Their truffle fries with garlic dip was amazing but the the Brussel sprout were overdone/burned. The warm olives were different. The fennel pizza is a nice treat for sausage lovers with chunky pieces on top. Oliva pizza was unique and good to try. The spinach and ricotta pizza was delicious. Their desserts were "melt in your mouth" good. The chocolate cookie with ice cream was just finger licking good, while tiramisu was very satisfying. Overall we left filled and satisfied with food. I would rate their food as 5 star. They have a nice big outdoor patio which is pet friendly. However the service outside was really slow. We asked for red peppers and got it when we were done with food. As the evening went it got cold but majority of the outdoor warmers were out of gas. The service definitely made the overall experience not so great. Would recommend going here for food during non peak time. read more

Like Neo in St. Charles or the late Neo in Naperville, Neoteca is a good place to eat. Pizzas are great, while appetizers (Meatballs in particular!) are good as well. Quiet and comfortable atmosphere and a team-based service approach works well. read more

Nice people for sure! My family and I like to make our own pizzas often so we buy our dough from all the pizza shops because that's the hardest/best part. Neoteca sells pizza kits for $10 (comes w dough, sauce, and something else... tray? I can't remember). I came in just to buy a bunch of dough and sauce but good tip for others. Uhm... seems like a nice place to eat pre/post quarantine. My least favorite dough we've used so far though. Sauce too. Theirs is a bit watery. To each their own preference. read more

I personally like this place. My wife and I we go there from time to time since opening. We pretty much tried everything they have to offer. I somewhat agree that pizza used to be better at the beginning and I do not know if it is the change of ingredients? Maybe? Regardless they still have a best Bruschetta options I have ever came across and you can have the cold or hot options so it can fulfill anybody taste. I am fond of their outside seating which is cool in the summertime. We visited Neoteca two weeks ago and noticed they have a change in the menu if it comes to lunch. They offer sandwiches which we tried, one of them was Eggplant Sandwich the other was Portobello Sandwich. I have to admit that portobello was one of the best I had in a long time and I love to find such promising changes to the menu. read more

This place was packed on Saturday as I drove by in the early evening. Decided to try the pizza Sunday night. Would not return here. A Barrington disappointment. We enjoyed the meatball appetizer, seasoned but not really savory, and the dish was cramped in a small, deep square bowl, making it difficult to serve. Tomato sauce was sparse. Caesar salad was dry and bland, not fully coated, could not detect anchovy, if present, unsavory, no seasoned crouton, which was a piece of grilled Italian bread. Zero flavor. The only flavor was from the sliced Parmesan and a hearty application of cracked pepper from the server. The Margherita pizza was skimpy on the basil. Not a fresh mozzarella on top.Crust was unremarkable. . read more

We had an early sunday dinner here recently. I ordered the fennel sausage pizza and my partner ordered the bianco pizza with garlic, oregano and pesto. Both pizzas were hot, melty, with wonderful fresh flavors. The hand pulled crust was perfectly crisp with those wonderfully crunchy air bubbles. This pizza I believe is very authentic to Italia. Their limoncello martini was delicious too and the perfect accompaniment to the pizza if you're not in the mood for wine. They do have an extensive wine list to please any palate and price. They even have some of my favorites from the amarone region. The interior is sleek and urban. I would soften the interior a bit with a few softer colors and soft artwork but that's just me. The service was perfect. Couldn't have been better. We will return. read more

I enjoyed my first-time visit to Neoteca! Cute, clean restaurant with a nice modern look. I had a margherita pizza that was thin, crispy, and delicious. My paloma was fabulous, and the cookie dessert was amazing. The cookie was cooked in a pan and served with a scoop of ice cream on top. The restaurant was pretty quiet when I went, but it was pretty close to closing time on a Friday night. I'm sure it's livelier during the day. Otherwise, this restaurant is a terrific fit in the downtown Barrington area and I would go back. read more

From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Jimmy, our butler/bartender, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The hospitality was warm without being stiff, and the service had a level of attentiveness you rarely find anymore. Chef Robert Gadsby personally came out to introduce himself and his team, and he remained hands‑on throughout the entire evening. Over the course of 12 beautifully crafted courses served across about 2 1/2 hours, he tailored each dish to our tastes. Before every course, they asked thoughtful questions about what we liked, what we didn't, and what we were curious to try. It truly felt like the menu was being created just for us. The only small downside -- and I mention this with appreciation for the chef's passion -- is that Chef Gadsby spent quite a bit of time sitting with us and talking during the meal. He's a wonderful man with fascinating stories, but at times I would have preferred to simply savor the flavors and enjoy the quiet moments between courses. Still, his enthusiasm for his craft is undeniable. Overall, the food, the service, and the level of personalization made this one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had. We will absolutely be back. I highly recommend Noe to anyone who considers themselves a foodie or loves a meal tailored to their tastes. My wife and I have dined at NeoTecca three times in the last few weeks and have had good experiences. We talked to friends before our first visit and knew what to expect for service and cuisine. We like Neapolitan style pizza, so the expectation of what was ordered was not a surprise to us when it landed at the table. The crust was fantastic because it was chewy, warm and cooked correctly. The sauce was good as was the fresh ingredients, but again, if you're not used to that style pizza, you're probably not going to be a fan. We've tried the bruschetta plates and they're great. The bread is good and prepared correctly. The multiple fresh ingredient choices for bruschetta gives the dish plenty of variety to the diner. If you like real meatballs and not the typical frozen type bought from Sysco, then you'll like NeoTecca's. The meatballs are fork tender because they don't brown them before adding them to the sauce (I could be wrong) which makes them delicious with just the right amount of added bread and parsley. The service is great in my opinion. Each visit we had very attentive servers, quick drink refills and the restaurant was spotless...clean clean clean. We didn't have a five star experience but it was good enough to earn repeat business from my family. read more

I have been here a couple times already with my husband. The service is great and the food is amazing. Each time I have been in, the owner Guy or manger Nick would check in to see how our meal was. This is not your typical American pizza. I have had the opportunity to travel to Italy and Neoteca has nailed it. I have to try everything on their menu!! read more
