As a part of our home improvement journey this year, we finally got around to installing a new…read moredining area light, sconces and a new fan. The Doctor has a history with this business and did all of the initial legwork of going to the store several times to take photos of different fixtures for me to review as I do not like spending a lot of time in stores wandering around. I want what I want and need to move on. Once I narrowed down what I was looking for, it was time for me to visit the store. Cindy Goldstein was the person working with The Doctor and I met her. She was very nice and again, a sales person who was not pushing me on a purchase. Again in my mind's eye, I had an idea of what I wanted on the wall and ceiling and was looking around until I saw that items that caught my eye. Cindy was very helpful and even suggested that for the ceiling fixture, we could purchase the floor display at a considerably lower price, but we got the sconces new. I figured since the ceiling fixture was only hanging, there was no risk in purchasing it as there was minimum handling/touching the fixture. In addition to the light fixtures, The Doctor found the fan of his dreams and we purchased that as well. I gotta say I love the fan as much as the light fixtures as it really cools off the room and the breeze is nice. Cindy was cool and gave The Doctor a discount on the price of the fan as well. Delivery of the items was painless and we were also able to purchase additional globes to have on hand in case one broke (not that I hope we have to use them). What I didn't realize until after we had left was that this particular business was all women owned. I love supporting women and minority owned businesses, especially when they have great products and customer service. I will be back here to look for new fixtures for the kitchen in the near future.

We recently had our bathrooms remodeled, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The scope of our project included a full renovation of primary, kids and guest bathrooms, and the quality of craftsmanship really shows in every space. From the tile work to the fixtures and overall layout, everything feels high-quality and thoughtfully done. We especially appreciated the unique elements incorporated into the design, like the wall-mounted faucets, recessed vanities, heated floors, and heated bidets--features that truly elevated both the look and comfort of our bathrooms. The team was excellent to work with from start to finish. Elizabeth, our designer, and Eric, our project manager, were both fantastic and communicated clearly throughout the entire process. Elizabeth helped bring our vision to life with thoughtful design choices and a great eye for the overall look and feel, while Eric kept everything running smoothly and on schedule. Our contractor, also named Eric, did very high-quality work, and it really shows in the finished product. Everyone we interacted with was professional, respectful, and clearly took pride in their work. Communication was consistent, and we always felt informed about what was happening next. The team's level of care and precision really stood out--they made sure everything was done right. The entire process, from design to construction to the final finishing touches, was smooth and well-managed. They helped guide us through design decisions without pressure, kept the project moving on schedule, and made sure the final result matched (and even exceeded) our expectations. The end result is a set of bathrooms that not only look amazing but feel built to last. We're extremely happy with the quality of work and the overall experience, and we would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering a remodel.

I was working with a more junior designer, and replies were sometimes delayed. Once we got into build phase, the process ran really smoothly. I worked primarily with Daniel who was coordinating everything, and he was very communicative. Everyone who worked on the project (tiling, plumbing, electrical) was prompt and attentive. There was a small snag at the end where my heated floors weren't heating. Daniel made sure to get the electrician, tiling professional, and heated floor professional on site to quickly identify the problem and remedy. The whole process from signing contract to completed bathroom was about six months. Longer than I was expecting, but happy to have had Chi Renovation coordinating all the moving pieces.

I truly wish I had nicer things to say. Crest has been a Chicago staple and when I finally was…read moreready to upgrade my lighting again I went back to the place that had been tried and true for me years ago. But it seems that era has ended. I came in a hot mess, I have no design skills. I relied on the sales person to help me and I thought she was amazing. She was kind, patient and seemed to really get me and my condo style - benig "vintage" and wanting to modernize was beyond me. She was super helpful and made me feel like she knew exactly what I needed. That was until I left the showroom. I ordered two ceiling fans from her that day, it wasn't cheap. I also ordered one I'd found on my own online. I hired someone reputable to install them for me and I was all set. But then they left and within days the two I purchased from Crest (different manufacturers) were both on the fritz. Hard to believe for sure, but both manufacturers agreed this was a fluke and they both had inherent issues requiring replacement. And then I had to replace them, which meant I had to pay for the labor again. One of the fixtures is in a room I hadn't needed the fan for in the first year. But then I did, and it didn't work. At that same time I noticed the on/off switch wasn't working properly either. I called the manufacturer and they agreed it was a warranty claim and to call Crest to replace the wall switch. Not something I feel comfortable doing on my own. When I talked to Crest, they said they'd order me a part and well... they did but never called to tell me it had come in. I called on my own three weeks later and they said it was there waiting for me. I verified I could wait for the weekend to get it. Of course they are closed on Sundays so It had to be during the short Saturday hours. I raced to get there in the window only to find a lot of confusion. It wasn't waiting for me at all. The woman who said she'd call me was there and surprised I was asking questions. She said she hadn't heard back from the manufacturer to answer my question about paying for labor, and they all just threw their hands up and said they couldn't help me because the manager wasn't there. Let's just say it's the end of an era and I won't be back for business in the future. Good luck with your purchases after you leave the store.
