The alterations requested were basic: take four brand new shirts and shorten the sleeves by exactly two inches while also moving the gauntlets. An alteration I have paid for at countless other back street seamsters across the country before. Yet in contrast to the work I have seen previously, this gentleman's needlework leaves a lot to be desired. My shirtsleeves are now replete with loose threads, incomplete stitching, and a generally shoddy standard of work. They than told me that I needed to talk to their boss in order to get a suit made. And he wasn't around to speak to me. Now, what kind of tailors are they?!!! And who runs a business like that?! They couldn't even give me an answer when asked why I hadn't been told this when I phoned them before coming. If they can't get this right, how can I have confidence in their abilities as a tailor? My advice, don't go near them with your fabric.
