We initially ended up at the Hermitage campground (after dark pulling a 38' fifth wheel) and couldn't find out spot. There was a park ranger that was driving around and lead us to the Pittsburg site and we were thankful for his assistance. Filling the fifth wheel with water was easy as the water supply was located in a large area near the entry. Check in was a breeze as it was done with your mobile. I do wish the campsite itself was longer and had more parking. The site barely fit the fifth wheel and truck on the paved area and there's no parking in the grass, so we had to park our second vehicle near the entrance with available parking. Backing in a fifth wheel in a pitch-black campsite is always fun, but thankfully it only took 1 try. The site had a covered picnic table and lots of shade which was nice. Out site was a bit far from the bathhouse so it was a trek to shower/use facilities. We used the camper most of the time, but without water hookup, tried to use the water in the tank more sparingly for dishes and cooking. There was a nice little playground area with equipment for the kiddos. The beach was nice sized and some had trees so you didn't burn up in the sun. If you hit the beach, bring water shoes because it's very rocky and they are sharp. For $25 a night, I was satisfied with the campground and enjoyed the time with my family.

It was always difficult to get a spot to park your RV, it was kept immaculately clean, Bob always went out of his way to make you feel at home. When he decided to retire, he sold the lease to Betty Sue Roberts, who hired managers that has allowed the property to go into disrepair, much of the lake around the property is now inaccessible, The rental facilities are almost uninhabitable. Three years ago we sold our RV and decided to start staying in the cabins out there. We could not use the hot water. Every time you would start the hot water, the Cabin would fill with the smell of sulfur which anyone knows smells exactly like rotten eggs. During checkout, we reported the issue and they assured us they would fix the problem. Before checking in last year, we asked and where told the issue had been resolved, and that we would not encounter that problem again. We were lied to, and the smell was much worse, and when we asked to switch cabins, they told us the other cabins were under repair and we could not get a refund. Me and my family sadly will never stay here again. This year we ended up staying at Nemo Bridge resorts, I am thankful that we found a new place to stay, it is so much nicer and a lot more clean and had roughly 6 times the amount of lake accessibility with a beach. I also want to mention that we are not the only ones that have watched this resort fall to disrepair, every year since the lease transferred to Ms. Roberts less and less people stay at this resort. I do not recommend anybody to stay here! This place is great if you have an emergency with your boat, but if you're looking for lodging whole on a vacation or just a getaway, you don't want to feel like you're slumming it in an alley somewhere. And every time we went to the pool, our kids got asked, or we got asked what cabin we were staying in by the owner and that got annoying learn your guest.. Been coming for years and this was a big letdown.

There are rivets on the bottom of the boat that we stubbed our toes on. Worst of all the drivers SEAT was completely unstable. My husband had to stand most of the time pulling tubes all week, he's 75 and has been boating and skiing all his life. The door that held vests continued to swing open the whole time we were on the water. We finally spent 2 hours going back to Montego Bay Marina. They put a lock on the door so it would not fly open. Supposedly fixed the seat, but they did not. It was set back and you could not sit in it...very wobbly!!! Then on the returned accused my husband of stealing a bumper and was going to charge him. They gave us 3 and they said there were 4. They found the forth bumper in the compartment with all the life vests...said they were sorry!!! It was terrible. Very stressful!!

We've dealt with both Sales (Lucas R) and Service. We have also had interactions with Kyle Kelly. All of it has been really outstanding. They clearly understand the concept of customer service and priority. Recently hauled our boat down for a special repair - Monday AM - left here early - got there at 8:30 - and their service techs were waiting on me. Literally 46 minutes later - I was OUT of there - with FIXED BOAT in tow and headed back to Kansas City - and home by 12:30. Sometimes you run into an operation that "gets it" when it comes to customer service - and they certainly do! They get my highest recommendation and have earned me as a long term customer.
