I have TMJ so I am very careful about who I see for cleanings and dental work, as some dentists aren't gentle enough and don't understand the pain that TMJ sufferers have when having work done for too long. Dr. Tepedino has always been gentle and knowledgeable - always checking that I'm okay every couple of minutes and patient enough to give me a break when I need it. He also adjusts my bite guard as needed which is really helpful. For those who don't have TMJ and just need a quick cleaning, no worries - you can make an appointment to just see a dental hygienist instead. You'll probably get an appointment much quicker as well (I usually call to make an appointment for my cleaning about a month in advance). Hours are fairly flexible and I think that Dr. Tep is in the office every other Saturday for those who can't make it during the week. The front-desk service is always friendly too and I haven't had a problem making an appointment or rescheduling. If you're in Bay Ridge or have access to the R train, I'd definitely recommend seeing Dr. Tepedino.

At our first meeting, he introduced himself with his first name and a handshake. He reviewed the X-rays with me and answered all questions I had thoroughly. I needed no work, except a cleaning, which Dr. Settecase did himself. The dental hygienist was busy, so rather than have me wait he did my cleaning. I was very impressed by this and with the care he took while doing it. Other dentists have wanted to pull out old cavities and put in crowns as 'preventative measures', Dr. Settecase doesn't believe in 'fixing ' things unnecessarily. This is the most important reason I will be returning to see Dr. Settecase. I was equally impressed with the staff, they were welcoming and each person I encountered seemed to do their job impeccably. Oh and he takes my insurance, bonus!
