That's all very well, but it's not what makes this place really interesting. In one end of the park you'll find the restaurant De Kas in their grand greenhouse and ordered kitchen garden. In the other end you'll find a long range of very different small private gardens and plots seperated by small gravel paths and canals. In this area there's also a larger area reserved for school gardens. The childrens very small plots all look more or less the same, except for the very creative name signs that they have created for their small kitchen gardens.

Fantastic Park for little kids!…read more This park is great! We visited Amsterdam with our 7 year old son, and we saw a lot of history and culture. It was good to go to Amstelpark on a warm day and do all the little kid things. We biked to and through the park. We splashed in the big wadding pool, rode the small train through the park, tried to go to the petting zoo but it closes at 3pm (but we still saw some animals), my son played in the playgrounds, and rode on the little rides. He was so happy. (I would say 7 or 8 years old would be the oldest ages that would really enjoy this. Ideal for 3-6 year olds).

On the southeast corner there is a kids farm with pigs, donkeys, all kinds of chickens, deers, goats and peacocks. I would love to play in the farm land if I could disguise as a kid. Even saw people playing quidditch once(you know the thing in harry potter)! Bad there was not a nice coffee inside.
