The Martin Luther Kingpark is a park located South of Amsterdam. It was initial named after an inspiring American clergy, activist and African-American Leader of the Civil Rights Movement. What makes this man so inspiring is that he was a great example for the symbol of humanity. The park is located between Amstel River and Amstelpark. One of my favorite activities to do at MLK every summer is to revisit the traveling theater festival De Parade. Every year there is a big festival party at this park in Amsterdam South. The Theater Festival Parade travels every summer to different parts of the Netherlands with a variety of performers, music, colorful tents, terraces, and various restaurants. It's a wonderful moment for me to revert back to being a child and jump on the carrousel. De Parade provides entertainment for all ages, so everyone feels included in this big festival. On any other sunny day, then feel free to grab a blanket and enjoy the breeze of spring and summer at MLK Park. read more
