I said we had brought our own ammunition - told we had to use their ammunition in the rental gun. After firing one cylinder full (of their ammunition) I opened the gun to find the extractor would not work. Took it to counter and asked for assistance. Was told to hit the ejector rod on the counter! No more shooting of that gun for me. On signing out they could not find my drivers license (required as security when renting). Counter staff insisted I check my wallet multiple times. Then when they couldn't find my license simply faded from sight. I asked to speak to the manager who finally determined that they had given my license to a previous renter!! Manager called the other renter who generously returned and exchanged licenses. In my estimation these people could organize a sack race much less run a gun store/rental gun range.

I would not recommend this place simply on their customer service alone. These people aren't qualified to run a lemonade stand !!! We ended up going to straight shooters in the N.E. Was absolutely awesome, first class in everyway. Took us in with 30 mins notice. Joseph was patient intuitive and we all had a great time. Would strongly recommend

I have been to this club multiple times in a group or individually, and the staff and facilities…read moreoffered are excellent. However, the last time I went shooting there I was in a group shooting on the southernmost trap range, and had a gentleman run right past my group up along the hedges and out into the active trap field with a pair of large off leash dogs. When I reported this to the staff, I was told that the man is an investor, and that due to his contributions they allow him to run his dog along the edges of the trap field. They told me not to worry about it, that there was no danger of him getting hurt because the edges of the field are totally safe. Having spoken to some of the regulars, he apparently does this fairly often. Never in my life have I heard of any form of shooting range that allows people to go out past the firing line of an active shooting range, and I don't care how theoretically safe it is provided you stick to the edges, something unexpected could happen especially with multiple off leash animals involved. I do not want to be responsible for some guy or his dog(s) getting shot. That this is actively allowed by an organization that represents themselves as educators for hunting and shooting safety is baffling to me. Please do not walk your dogs on a live shooting range with dozens of shooters actively using the field at any given time. The shooting facilities themselves are outstanding. Half a dozen trap ranges, three skeet ranges, and a really awesome five stand range are all buckets of fun and great practice for sportsmen and anyone that wants to learn to shoot a shotgun well. The staff are excellent, and though I've had issues with the pay cards nearly every time I've been out there they put a great deal of effort into getting everything working for me. Without the safety concerns, I would give this location a four if not five star review.

Discovery had a brilliant plan that provided a bass guitar, amp and ten lessons, payable in ten instalments. I figured in a couple of weeks my son would move on to his next career choice and I would be out only two payments. Instead, my son became absolutely committed to learning how to play and continued playing and learning, eventually graduating from the Victoria Conservatory of Music. I credit this largely to the quality of instruction at Discovery and their commitment to their students and to making good music. Last week I took our grandson to Discovery for his guitar lesson. Nothing has changed. Same great staff, same commitment to music and to their students. In summary, I can't think of a better place in Calgary to learn about music and how to play.
