This is a great little pub in a quiet, residential area just west-northwest of the Tonbridge train station. It is cozy indoors, with several little nooks and snugs, and some wingback chairs that are comfy and private. The service is friendly, and they have a nice selection of independent microbrews, as well as mass-market beers. The wine selection was small, but we enjoyed what we had. Food is tasty, with large serving quantities. You are strongly advised to book ahead for Sunday roast; they will fill up. On the subject of Sunday roasts, the pork option is particularly good. The brisket could have used an American-style long slow roast to soften it a bit more.
There is a patio outside that has tables and stools, and is partially covered. We had a great experience, and would recommend the Nelson Arms to everyone. read more
