Yum! This place was great! We came here on Monday for a belated Mother's Day dinner! It was good! It was really pretty and clean inside which is always a plus, and on Monday's it doesn't seem too busy. I would say check this place out on a weekday. We ordered the lamb appetizer to start! It was kind of like a tiny meal in itself. There were 4 lamb pieces and a bit of beans, potatoes and broccoli! All very very delicious! We shared it between 4 people and it was good! They gave us a loaf of bread and butter as well. I wasn't feeling like pasta that day so I decided on bocconcini salad with a side of chicken breast! I'm kind of weird in the way that I don't like tomato salad but I love bocconcini salad for some reason! Thankfully this was a great salad! I love crisp tomatoes! I hate when tomatoes are soggy and gross but this salad was cold with really crispy veggies and it was yummy. I really liked my salad! My boyfriend and his mom got pasta which they enjoyed! Huge portions! And my boyfriends dad got the meatballs which he said were good! For desert we had the tiramisu! It's not the best I've ever had but it was still decent! The creme brule was also yummy! It was kind of weird at the end because the server just deposited the check at the end but didn't ask if we wanted coffee or anything! My in-laws love coffee so that was kind of a tiny disappointment. But overall it was a really great dinner! I enjoyed it a lot! read more

Nello's is one of my all time favorites. I always make a reservation as it can get quite busy, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. The ceasar salad is amazing and the portions are generous. With large portions comes a large bill. I typically only go to Nello's when I have a Groupon. The staff are friendly and work very hard to keep up with the busy yet small resturant. Because of this, service can sometimes be slow but the quality of the food is well worth the wait. Kudos! read more

This restaurant was amazing. So comforting and warming. The staff are super nice and welcoming, the owners even came out and made sure we had great food and service. The food was great, fast and delicious! Overall 10/10 definitely recommend. read more

Simply delicious!! I had veal parmigiana and it was to die for. The veal was prepared perfectly, the cheese the herb/spices were not overwhelming, and there was so much spaghetti on the side I couldn't eat it all. I had the meat sauce that was quite tasty. My husband had stuffed red peppers, he says they were amazing. Soft, not mushy, says they tasted fantastic. He had a beer and I had some pop and the bill with a tip was like $87. Awesome food, too much food to be honest, at a great price. read more

While visiting with some friends of the family who live in St Albert, they took us to Nello's and claimed it was the best Italian restaurant in and around the Edmonton area. We weren't disappointed! All the food was very good and the portions were VERY generous. I can almost always finish what is in front of me and I had leftovers for the next day. The service was quite good; even though we were a large group, the food came out quickly. The waitress was very friendly too although she brought out the wrong wine. Other than that no problems! In fact the bartender found out we were celebrating an anniversary and brought out complimentary apple pie shots for the entire group of us and then even substituted for something else because of dietary restrictions. Would certainly go back and recommend Nello's to anyone looking for a nice Italian place. 4.5/5 overall. read more

Incredible food!! full of rich quality ingredients. Authentic Italian eatery. I highly recommend for any hungry pasta lovers. Huge portions. You will never leave hungry. The seafood pasta was full of prawns, lobster and scallops. In a rich creamy rose sauce. Excellently executed. Not over cooked or bland. Al dente !! My hats off to the chef!! read more

Nello's Restaurant - Incredible seafood platter enough for two!!. So in love with Nellos. Buenísimo!!! - Italian Near Me - St Albert, Alberta

Not the best atmosphere....in fact its not nice at all... very weird actually Food however, fantastic. You have to wait a good while for meal to be prepared but at least we knew it was being cooked fresh. It is an expensive dinner for sure but quality is fantastic Portions are massive We actually have take out these days so not to sit in and have it on our comfy sofa! lol read more

We had a great meal here before Covid-19 in February. We haven't been going out lately but I can't wait to go here again.

This is probably my favorite in the Edmonton area. I have come twice with a Groupon and gotten the lamb both times. It is some of the best rack of lamb I have had in Alberta and a very generous portion. The gnocchi isn't the best I have had, but it is quite good. I recommend to all my friends. read more

Excellent food - a little pricey , but worth it. Waitress was good, a little "reserved", but adequate. Atmosphere was pleasant, restaurant was clean. I would eat there again. read more

We went for dinner with some friends from Calgary and overall we had a great experience. I ordered muscles and my husband had veal. our friends had pasta and they enjoyed their dinner. I actually prefer muscles with white wine sauce rather than tomato sauce, and we did find it a little pricey but service was great. We will go back. read more

A wonderful cozy Italian place on St. Albert Trail towards the north part of St. Albert. This restaurant has some pretty incredible food and a very charming atmosphere. The portion sizes will keep you in leftovers for a while but that adds to the charm of the place. You can almost hear the old Italian grandmother telling you to "eat! eat!" because you are too skinny when clearly you are not. But wow...great food. read more

The food is always delicious, and the service is great. That is if your not wearing a hat and are dressed 'appropriately'...and have NO kids :S Yes the signs on the door are cold, but once your inside it's warm and cozy. Other than that the food is really fantastic. But since we have had children, we haven't been able to enjoy any of Nellos entrees :( Too bad. read more

Great food. Service was excellent. Would highly recommend. Would suggest reservations. Sounds like they're always busy.

Really good food! Portions are huge and service is great! Very friendly staff. Really enjoyed date night here! Have recommended this place to a few couples I know! Will keep recommending! Keep up the good work! read more

Unbelievable!!!!!! Fabulous!!!! Fantastic!!!!!! Food was delicious!!!!! Service was impeccable!!!!! Very nice small comfortable little restaurant!!!!! Everyone needs to come here !!!! read more

I have been many times and beee happy with mmm experience. This last time I was a bit disappointed. The service was friendly. The decor is cutsie. The portions are hhuge. But the quality this last time was lacking. The lettuce in my salad was browned. My lobster was a bit tough. Yes I know it's not a seafood restaurant. But they've done better in the past. read more

the food is out of this world. staff are super friendly and menu is amazing. really nice place for a family night out or a nice romantic date! forsure will be back here read more

We went here on a groupon and probably wouldn't have bothered if it had not been for the discount. This place is hella expensive. But, with the groupon it was worth the price. The food was superior, and the service was perfect. Would maybe go again without the groupon but only on a very special occasion as the prices are up there. The food is well worth it, though. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night, yet the food came out quick and was fresh. Portions are huge. And it is very tasty. Lots of nice flavors! read more

Came here with my husband last night. Nice atmosphere. Food was delish. I got the gnocchi and it was amazing. I don't find it overpriced for the amount of food you get either. Service was great. Only thing that was strange was you can't get money back on a gift card. So if your gift card is for 75$ you need to use it all because they won't credit the change back to the gift card. I've never seen anything like that before. All in all I would come back for sure! read more

We went to Nello's for my 25th birthday, after reading the reviews good and bad I thought I'd give it the benefit of the doubt. To my dismay it was just terrible. From the minute we walked in the atmosphere was incredibly pretentious. Nello ,the owner, sat and the bar and glared at us. The food was ridiculously overpriced and incredibly bland. For the price you would expect the pasta to be homemade, it was from safeway. The average spaghetti meal there was a whopping 26.99, for good food, ok maybe I'd pay, but for safeway brand pasta and jarred sauce; I don't think so. I highly recommend staying far away from this establishment. If you're rich and incredibly dumb with no tastebuds you might enjoy it. So be warned. Kim read more

Loved their pasta dishes!! Wait staff were really friendly as well! I'd definitely recommend them and go again!

We had my father in law's 80th Birthday family & friends gathering at Nello's October 9th. It was great from Tony the owner accommodating us for the date we had in mind, the warm welcome from Kim (server) & the delicious flavorful food made one of the chefs Sam & others that helped out that day for us. Must share Kim - server was amazing! Such a warm & friendly server & who was always at our table to bring us whatever we would like from food & drinks, etc. As well, nice to hear the Italian tunes while we were there enjoying our time with family & friends. Nello's nice & clean & just enough with nice Decor. If you are looking for a nice, cozy restaurant to enjoy appetizers, meal & dessert Nello's a great choice! You will not be disappointed! Looking forward to our next visit. Ciao & Take Care, Sandra & Frank read more

This is a cozy restaurant, we met some friends for dinner and ended up sharing a bottle of wine with our bruschetta and calamari which was great! The calamari was not rubbery what so ever, yum. After the appetizers were finished we decided to have another bottle of wine to share, this time we ordered a " Ruffino - Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale " which was very light bodied and had hints of cherry. Our waitress was awesome, she had fun serving us and could joke around. It was refreshing and made the evening even more pleasant. Once our entrees came I realized we all order very different items: lobster, lamb, veal, and puttanesca for myself. It was very good, and everyone was silence while eating which means they really enjoyed their dishes. Toward the end of the evening we went through one last bottle of wine but I can't remember the name of that one.......I'm a bit of light weight when it comes to drinking. It was a great evening. Enjoy your pasta. read more

Best Italian restaurant in Edmonton and area. Pasta is always cooked to the right consistency and flavours are consistent and very good. Prices are higher but portions are generous, so works out to be slightly above average. Apps - really good Caesar salad. Calamari is crispy and fresh tomato sauce, not a fan of the "tartar" sauce. Food - lobster tagliatelle is my favourite dish, good portion and very tasty. Veal Marsala is very tasty but nor very filling. Atmosphere - average. Not too lively but not stuffy. Wine list - average for Edmonton. read more

We went to Nello's for the first time last week and invited friends to accompany us. It was a good experience in every way, excellent menu choices, very tasty and excellent service. We felt it was reasonably priced for the quality. We will definitely go back! read more

I needed to use my Teambuy coupon so I decided to take my boys on a whim. Best part was we walked in just after 5pm on a Saturday and didn't have to wait for a table. We were done our meal and home just over an hour later. Food was really good, service was quick and staff friendly. read more

You will be taking home half of your dinner for sure. Overall, good fresh food with a casual environment. I was a fan of the pasta and the delicious sauces. The staff was friendly and caring which always helps. I felt that the prices were a little over the top. I would probably not go back, due to the high prices. read more

Excellent food! No other Italian restaurant compares! Great service and very friendly, absolutely love this place!

We took our kids (2,4 and 6) to Nello's tonight and had a great experience. We shared a calamari appetizer and two pastas and it was plenty for the 5 of us. Food was quick (maybe because we got there just after they opened at 5 and ordered quickly) and our server Kim and her helper were outstanding, especially with the kids. I would highly recommend! The menu looks pricy at first glance but the portions are very generous and suitable for sharing. $65 including tip for the whole family (with no alcohol). We will be back! read more

We went to the restaurant Monday night! It was a great meal. We will definitely go again. Cozy but nice, the service was great and relaxed. I had the veal parmigiana and my daughter had the chicken parmigiana. Great portions! Left overs for the next night....lol The only thing I must say is the desserts are overpriced for what you get. $10 for a small not very flavorful piece of Tiramasu. read more

This is one of my family's favourite places for dinner. They're always very accommodating and the staff is very knowledgable and professional. The food is authentic and delicious with quite the variety. I love when we get to treat ourselves to Nello's as it's a family-owned business and worth every penny spent! read more

We had a wonderful night. We started with some mussels and a bottle of wine before we opened up the menus. The ambiance is wonderful for an intimate evening with friends. I had the pastichio which was an incredible plate of competing flavours. 5 different pasta's smothered in a rich creamy sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We all had the creme brûlée for dessert. Oh what a great place to share with good friends. I would recommend this as one of my top 3 Italian restaurants. We are definitely going back! read more

Delicious pasta! My husband and I both loved what we ordered. I had the veal ravoli and it was amazing! Large portions and good service. The decor is out dated but it was charming! read more

I'm not one for Italian food but it was my sisters birthday and she wanted this place. Super friendly service! The food was the best (coming from someone whose choice for Italian would be dead last). Noodles and cheese just isn't appealing for me but I was super surprised and so thankful i came. Soooo delicious!! It's pricey but if you're paying for quality and service, they're being ripped off. This place is one of new favs! read more

Came to Nellos with my best freind for dinner. We were greeted and sat immedietly. Our server Raul was awesome. We had the penne puttanesca. Food came out in a timly manor and tasted amazing. Must come back!! Bathrooms are clean, staff is great, music is relaxing. Great wine and dessert list too!! Top quality fresh main courses, such as the lamb, and a huge selection of authentic pastas and sea food dishes. The salads are unreal--you must try the boconccini its my favorite. Something there for everyone, child or adult. (Although it is a fine dining restaurant it does cater to children, as a mom, this is exceptional) A great value for your hard earned dollar. Prices are reasonable as the portions are HUGE. This has to be best Italian restaurant I have ate at!! Thank you Harold and Roul. We will be regular customers :) read more

My husband and I bought a Groupon for Nello's as we had never heard of it before. We were greeted by such a friendly girl it started our experience off great! We started with the spicy bruschetta which was AMAZING - so amazing, we had to move the plate to the other side of the table so that we'd quit eating it! We then each ordered our own entree - I had the Putanesca and my husband ordered Veal Scaloppini - BOTH were incredible and the amount of food you get is crazy in the best way possible. It makes the "higher prices" so very worth it. My meal ended up being spread over four different meals for myself. We finished the evening off with the tiramisu which was by far the best I have ever had - so light and full of flavor. The only disappointment (and only reason I am not giving five stars) was the fact that when we asked for everything to be packed up, we were not given our bruschetta left overs - and there was quite a bit of that left so we basically just paid to try it. Other than that, what a great experience! We will definitely be back! read more

On a recommendation from a friend we decided to try out Nello's for a decent Italian meal. We went early because we heard they get quite busy and we didn't have reservations. Upon entering it didn't "appear" to be an expensive place to eat, as it's part of a strip mall, but we knew from our friend that a good meal would probably be around $100. I ordered a Zinfidel, Salmon and angel hair pasta. My hubby had the gnocci and ordered a soda. The salmon was tasty although there were a few small bones and skin, the pasta and sauce was great. My hubby enjoyed his meal, but the waiter forgot the soda, and I only planned on ordering one glass of wine, but noticed that the waiter poured a second glass at the same time mine was poured and left it up on the counter (for almost 2 hours) so I never did order a second glass because I didn't want to get stuck with a warm glass of wine. The desert (Homemade Tiramisu) was the best part of the whole meal. The owner comped the desert since my hubby never got his drink. Overall we were very happy with the food, the location could use a larger sign (off on the road) to make it super easy to locate. We chatted with the owner which was cool. I think the inside could use a little more atmosphere - separate the entrance from the dining area and maybe dim the lights a bit to make it more away from the main busy road of St Albert Trail. read more

Expensive for Italian but absolutely predictable, consistent , decent homestyle Italian food and very friendly service. The food is genuine Italian and the owner is too. If you are rude and unfriendly he might kick you out. The signs on the front door remind you not to wear your hat and basically send the message that no bums are welcome. Clean bathrooms too!! read more

Best small spot in town. Owner is super hands on and talks to every table. We were there and it was very busy, due to a 5 min wait for or reserved table the owner bought everyone a drink and a desert. The pasta was amazing, really impressed with everything. Great date spot in town. read more
