1/24/26: smoothies were good, service was meh. Won't return. Popped in this morning after enjoying the Tempe Blooms, needing a pick me up. Place was completely empty. The young gentleman behind the counter was friendly, helping me choose between a couple drinks. I dropped a couple bucks into the tip jar, to which he replied, "thank you, I appreciate that". He walked to the back never to be seen again. A young gal brought our drinks out, announcing them (in an emotionally dead voice) then high-tailed it to the back. We picked them up & sat down but then became uncertain which was which as they were both red, and though they were different sizes, it was possible they put the wrong one in the wrong size. We returned to the counter to inquire & the young gal came back out to clarify the flavors. Again, no emotion, no friendliness. Sat down again & started sipping. It was then that I remembered the Raspberry Riot had a blue vanilla cashew drizzle. As you can see in the picture, neither smoothie shows any blue drizzle. I returned to the counter, asking about the missing drizzle. It was corrected, w/ a slightly more friendly interchange. A few minutes later, I discovered my sister added a tip to the credit card transaction; clearly she did not see me add cash to the tip jar. I came extremely close to returning to the counter one final time to take my tip back but she talked me out of it. I was really bummed after our recent visit. We were in Tempe visiting my son and decided to grab açai bowls with the kids, something we used to do daily at Nekter and always loved. Unfortunately, the quality and service have clearly declined. We ordered custom modifications (removing some items and adding others), but nothing came out as requested. My daughter's Acai bowl tasted like dirt, which was especially off-putting. My açai bowl arrived with frozen raspberry pieces on top instead of the fresh toppings we expected. For $65, this was incredibly disappointing. The two young staff members seemed to have no clue what they were doing and were difficult to deal with when we pointed out the issues. I considered asking for a refund but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. We used to rely on Nekter for fresh, high-quality bowls, but this location fell far short of what it used to be. Hopefully they can improve training and consistency moving forward. read more

I'm a student who keeps coming back and hoping my next food will be good but it never is. i only walk 2 minutes to my apt from the store and always my bowl is liquid and barely frozen and my shots come out the wrong color, and with other vegetable chunks and idek what inside. I love Nekter and go all the time in North Phoenix but today I stopped in at the one in Tempe, and I was super disappointed. My smoothie bowl was given to me soupy and with no flavor. I asked to have it remade but it was remade the same exact way. (It looked and tasted like it was just poured into another cup.) I get this bowl all the time usually and I've never had it be like this. Employees were nice, but it was just not right and I ended up throwing it away. I was really craving a smoothie and it was pretty good, not amazing but what you'd expect for such a high price. It had to be relatively decent for the price you're paying, you know? Have tried the acai superfood bowl and the acai peanut butter bowl. Both are delicious, and could be a meal in themselves as they are huge and filling. Keep in mind that while these bowls are healthier than Jamba Juice, they still have a whopping number of carbs, but their calorie count is okay if you're using them as meal substitutes. AMAZING AÇAÍ BOWLS! One of my friends actually recommended this place so when I passed by this location I decided to check it out. They have a large VARIETY of fresh juices, smoothies, and bowls!! In addition, they have added BOOSTS and BYO bowls! They even offer GLUTEN-FREE granola as a substitute. I got the açaí banana bowl and WOW, it tasted so FRESH and was very LIGHT! What I really LIKED about the bowl was that it wasn't super sweet, it didn't taste like it had a bunch of added sugar. The main source of sweetness came from the blueberries and some of the granola chunks. At first, I was sorta apprehensive because it was $10 for ONE bowl. However, it was very FILLING. I actually wasn't able to finish mine. It's something that could easily be split between two people! The ambiance was very RELAXING and such a great place to get some work done. A claim to start our Friday morning: Nekter Juice Bar *is* as good as it gets. My praises extend from my inaugural Nekter visit in Irvine, CA six years ago (hard to believe it's been that long). In beautiful Orange County, acai bowl places are easy to come by, but all I tried simply did not compare to the quality of ingredients, flavor, and even presentation boasted by Nekter. They took this niche by storm, and I couldn't be happier that they have found themselves in Tempe. This particular Nekter is located on busy, construction-ridden University Avenue, underneath the new Union apartment building. If there is any place for criticism, location would simply be it. Unless you live within walking distance (or better yet, directly above), you will pay for parking to enjoy this Nekter. I also suspect that once the school year kicks off, this spot will be jam packed! Good for business, certainly; not so good for the occasional visitor. That out of the way, let's review the experience I had yesterday. The friendly, patient staff awaited our order as we studied the menu. My girlfriend ordered The Buzz (carrot/orange/lemon/ginger juice); at 24-ounces there was plenty of juice for the both of us. It was a delicious combination that jolted us awake better than the coffees we had prior. I ordered the Acai Peanut Butter Bowl -- slightly different from what I remember in the old days, but no less excellent. The staff also obliged our check-in with a ginger shot, the first I have ever tried. I recommend it! Such a small sip invigorates the senses. Though we ordered to-go, we got to enjoy the interior for a time, appreciating the abundance of outlets and varieties of seating available. I envy the impending regulars of this Nekter, as they will enjoy adequate room for studying at one of the booths, or wider hang-out space for bigger groups. If you are in town, or as mentioned, if you live nearby, do pay this Nekter a visit. My Açaí bowl was melted when they finally served it to me after waiting 15 minutes being the only person in there. If I wanted to drink my Açaí bowl, I would've ordered a smoothie. The blueberries were not fresh and the whole thing lacked flavor. I heard good reviews about this place, but I will definitely not be coming back. read more

We got some pretty good açaí bowls here the other day. My sister is obsessed with this place so she really wanted to show me. I got the banana berry açaí bowl. It's topped with granola and fruit. It was pretty delicious but I would get additional peanut butter next time! My sister always get the power protein bowl. She let me try it and it was pretty good. The prices are expensive but it's pretty average for what you would usually pay for an acai bowl. read more

Stopped by here for breakfast and the ladies at the counter were so friendly. They made fresh bowls for us and made them to go. The food is pricy for sure but the flavors are fresh, filling, and healthy. There is street parking around the corner. You can order ahead and pick up your good as well. They have available bowls, smoothies, juices, protein snacks as well. I will be back - I have been to another Nekter in Phoenix and this one seems newer and cleaner. I got the a Açaí berry banana bowl and it was delicious. Not too sweet, just enough granola and sweetness. The bananas and strawberries were fresh and light. I was full for hours even after a hike! They have cashew milk and coconut water options and a newer Kombucha mix option which I think I might try next time. While i was enjoying it, i bite into something REALLY HARD, I thought maybe it could be granola or something but no. This Nékter straight up served me plastic and not just one piece but TWO. I've been to so many nekter locations and this was by far the slowest. Multiple patrons were complaining about the wait time for their orders. One of the female workers even asked a complaining customer, "did you tell us you were in a rush when you ordered???". It was really off putting. Probably won't come back to this location! read more

If you order ahead or have time to wait, get a fresh juice or shot. In my opinion, no need for ice (but they offer it and lots of people get it). The "chocolate" protein balls are choco PB and they are AMAZING. I also bought one of their cooler bags years ago on the road for $8, and it's so worth it. This Nekter location is such a gem and my only wish is that it had been here earlier in my college career! If you need a quick and healthy boost between classes or at the beginning or end of your day, look no further! LOCATION: -easily accessible if you're on campus, even without a bike! I have yet to have an unpleasant experience at this location of Nekter and trust me, it's not because I haven't been there enough times -orders are always made quickly and accurately! -Pro tip: order ahead on their app! Then let them know when you've arrived and they'll prioritize your order DRINKS & FOOD: -JUICE: my absolute favorite green drink is the Slender Greens. All the benefits of the green veggies and delicious fruits without removing the fiber, which always happens when they're juiced. This one won't cause a blood sugar spike! -SMOOTHIE: my favorite smoothie is the Turmeric Sunrise! It's gingery, tangy, and a great immune booster. It's my go-to when my friends start sniffling and it keeps colds away! -BOWL: my favorite bowl is the superfood! Goji berries, cacao nibs, agave syrup... count me in! It's a solid meal replacement for the days I'm just too busy to sit down for a meal. The cashiers were rude and unwelcoming, they didn't listen to me when I asked for options that fit my dietary restrictions, and they continued to ignore other patrons in the store. That's only mentioning the service but that WAS NOT EVEN THE WORST PART!!! The fruit is definitely not fresh and I am pretty sure I saw mold on some of it. Beyond that my drink did not have the correct changes I asked for and the cashiers did not tell me. I drank almost half the drink before realizing, but by then it was too late. I ordered the acai mango bowl and it was very unsanitary. It looked like it was going bad, it was poorly blended, and to top it off, there were HAIRS in my bowl. That's right, plural. Not just one. Been in twice, and have to say that there is not much of a reason to come here. Only reason would be for a smoothie (and even then still check out ChopShop). The one plus about Nekter is that they have more smoothie options, but beyond that, there's not much value here. Also, both times I have felt that the manager has been rude. The first time, I ordered two drinks, and upon paying, I was told that I could not use Discover or Apple Pay. All I had was $20, and the manager seemed to think it was my fault that I didn't have other cards. The second time I was having trouble with the WiFi and asked her if anyone else was having any issues, and she looked at me and just said "No". She didn't offer to help figure it out, and just seemed bothered by the fact that I was even asking. Anyways, she seems to always be in a rush, was not much help with the menu, and seems to be just plain unfriendly. Maybe I am catching her at the wrong time, but since this is a new place, and I am a business student, I would expect better out of a place trying to enter the market. Lastly, smoothies are between 6.50 and $11 depending on size, and that's just so much money. A great spot for healthy, vegan options that will fill you up and allow you to work if needed. I've ordered a smoothie for breakfast, but wish I had actually gotten a bowl, because they looked really good too! The smoothie is THICK, so it's not something you can drink quickly! They take at least 5 min to make if there isn't a line which is good to keep in mind if you're trying to quickly grab something. There is also a nice range of seating for working, with cute 2 person booths, 4-person tables, and a few couch/arm chairs in the center for reading. I will definitely be visiting again. read more
