What I don't understand is the lack of discretion or basic hospitality in enforcing it under these circumstances--particularly toward a parent with a small child in extreme heat. We weren't a large group taking over the patio, creating a disturbance, or occupying the last available table. Sometimes good customer service is knowing when a rule needs to be enforced and when a little kindness costs absolutely nothing. For the same food at Red Robin, this comes out to approximately $45, for better food and larger quantities. My burger literally fit into the palm of my hand. The chicken sandwich was dry. The rest was OK, but not great. Overall - Red Robin, Famous Dave's and Applebee's easily win over Shake Shack. THE BOTTOM LINE: We would have happily paid $60 for the food. The problem being that, if you're going to charge premium costs, you had better "bring it" with the food. Mind you: right next door is Sosogu Ramen & Japanese BBQ, Amoi Mok Mok, J Riley and the Redlands Public Market - all of whom have better food for lower prices. Shake Shack is one of the most consistent burger chains for me. The food is always solid and the service is quick no matter which location I visit.
