Neilston station serves the large-ish dormitory village of Neilston on the outskirts of Glasgow. Trains terminate here, running on a half-hourly service to Glasgow Central.
Strangely, after arrival from Glasgow trains leave platform 1 then reverse over to platform 2 for departure - I presume passengers are supposed to board from the latter but this is not made very clear.
There is a very modern building which doubles as a ticket office and waiting room, with an eqaully modern and clean toilet - something much more ScotRail stations should have.
The facilities here and the half-hourly service is definitely adequate for the amount of passengers using the station. read more
