It has a great setting and it has a 'Grand Entrance' but it is in need of some TLC. The ticket office is more often closed tham open (pot luck?) Seating is available but a proper shelter from the weather is a big miss.

The lady behind the counter was really friendly and was ok with my scattered brain the morning after a late night out. It also had loads of notifications of customer satisfaction for a water side station, which was nice to see.

Got on one of their buses right off the cruise ship. No fuss, no muss. Fair price. Clean bus…read more No worries. Made it into Glasgow in about 30 minutes. The return trip was totally different. Apparently the bus is now a city bus making many stops and filling with all sorts of passengers, not just cruise passengers. And I mean packed full! Ridiculous! I felt badly for anyone waiting at a bus stop. They were greeted with a packed bus full of disgruntled riders. Eventually, we got close to the cruise terminal and, without much warning, were told to exit and get on another bus that was waiting. We did so and made it to the terminal in a couple of minutes. Having read some reviews on Trip Advisor (while crammed on the bus), I noticed that this situation is not new and is really a regular occurrence. My advice - take a taxi or the nearby train.

A great little station - I've been here more times than I can remember, from childhood days right…read moreup to quite recently (three months ago). It's located between two tunnels and trains run from here towards Gourock in one direction and Glasgow in the other. It's staffed full time (there are no self-service ticket machines).There is a seating area under cover but no actual waiting room. A new car park opened a short time ago and a taxi rank is now in Roxburgh Street next to some phone boxes. There are many different small shops in the vicinity including a cafe at the entrance to the station.

My guy and I were in Greenock for an evening concert at the Beacon and decided to get a hotel room…read moreso we didn't have to worry about rushing for the last train back to Glasgow. This Holiday Inn Express was perfectly positioned so it was close enough to the train station, the Beacon and all the pubs and shops in town. Its also in the middle of a business park, so for anyone traveling for business in the area this could be a great hotel choice. I'm also a rewards member for any Intercontinental Hotel Group hotels, so aside from getting a great room with free breakfast at an affordable rate, I also get points towards free stays or upgrades! Win win! We were welcomed as rewards members and were offered a late checkout for free which was nice. Our room was cozy and clean and the bed was comfy. We didn't have any issues with noisy neighbours or late night parties. The only noise we really heard were the birds chirping outside as we left one of our windows cracked open over night. Breakfast was free and consisted of a huge selection of buffet items. Yoghurts, cheese, mixed fruit, juices and a coffee machine to make a variety of drinks. There was a selection of dry cereals, croissants, muffins, breads to toast, eggs, sausages and beans. To be fair, even though there was a huge spread, we would have enjoyed bacon over sausages, as the sausages were quite mediocre. Otherwise, we filled up in preparation of our day. Check out was seamless and we were on our way in no time. I recommend this hotel as some place to stay in Greenock for business or travel.

I have traveled to cardross on many occasions, a good destination to for a day out, with the shore…read moreless than 30 yards from the station, There do have a large car park and a safe place to lock your bike, sadly the station is only maned a few hours a day, lucky there are shelters outside if it's raining. Sadly the toilets are only open when the station is open, so if you are cut short you will have to the shore as there is no where else to go.

A useful station in Cardross which is about 20 miles from Glasgow on the north bank of the River…read moreClyde. It is manned on a part-time basis. There are two platforms and there is a train from here to Glasgow every half hour or so. The station is very close to the beach where you can take a stroll while waiting for a train. The small car park is on the other side of the station.
