Got on one of their buses right off the cruise ship. No fuss, no muss. Fair price. Clean bus. No worries. Made it into Glasgow in about 30 minutes. The return trip was totally different. Apparently the bus is now a city bus making many stops and filling with all sorts of passengers, not just cruise passengers. And I mean packed full! Ridiculous! I felt badly for anyone waiting at a bus stop. They were greeted with a packed bus full of disgruntled riders. Eventually, we got close to the cruise terminal and, without much warning, were told to exit and get on another bus that was waiting. We did so and made it to the terminal in a couple of minutes. Having read some reviews on Trip Advisor (while crammed on the bus), I noticed that this situation is not new and is really a regular occurrence. My advice - take a taxi or the nearby train. read more

It's definitely a rare occasion that I ever take a bus I'd rather take the train or a taxi where possible. Out of most bus company's this one has to be the better one, but with recent unjustified bus fare hikes it can be cheaper to get a taxi to your destination. I was at the Silverburn shopping centre with a friend and the bus fare was just a few pence short of £5 to get into Glasgow city centre, I said no thanks and said that I would get a taxi and so I did, taxi fare to my door was £9 and with two of us we where £1 better of. It depends what driver on duty you get sometimes that can be rude & arrogant, and at times not even bother stop at their designated bus stops. With reticent price hikes & arrogant staff they should be lucky to get a 1 star from me. read more

McGill's Buses - Buses Near Me - Greenock, IVC

I don't usually take the bus, but when I'm in a hurry I'd rather pay for a taxi. Out of maybe the 10 times I can remember using McGills bus's I've had at least 3 arguments with the drivers (who for the most part have been extremely rude). The most recent run in with the drivers was today when I asked for a return ticket to my university campus. The driver looked at me and rudely asked if I wanted a return ticket. I replied "Yes, to the town ". I got my face chewed off with him almost violently saying "I only asked if you wanted a return" ... If possible I will be giving my business to other bus companies from now on (or I'll just walk.) read more

My 15 year old son was doing work experience for 5 days this week. He was late on his first day because two McGills buses didn't turn up. The McGills mobile app assured him each bus was due, and then it just didn't turn up. The app is a total waste of space. As a result I had to take time off work to give him a lift. My partner contacted their office by phone to complain and was assured that the 5 day pass I had purchased via the app which hadn't been used (he used the subway, Firstbus and got lifts the rest of the week - all of them proved much more reliable than McGills) would be refunded. No refund appeared so we contacted them again 4 days later to be told we couldn't have a refund. Meantime my son had avoided using the pass all week because we were promised a refund but apparently that was just a lie. You cannot begin to imagine how angry I am with this incompetent and dishonest company. read more

i have been in Greenock for 3-4 months and since then i found out of the prices is somuch more then glasgow first buses greenock has less jobs so looking in glasgow but because of the prices of the mcgills buses its not worth while on a nat wage mcgills is nearly more then half in price rise then glasgow buse its to high on there services £29 a week on a bus ticket and the network anywhere glasgow is £21 which takes you anywhere out of glasgow apart of greenock so £17 a week on glasgow anywhere from surrounding areas of glasgow big city and £29 0n greenock to glasgow read more
