Shettleston Railway Station is part of the Scotrail network. It's located on Balgair Terrace near the Tesco Extra supermarket.
Shettleston is on the North East Route, connecting Drumgelloch on the east to Helensburgh Central and Balloch to the west. It takes approximately 10 minutes to get into the city centre from here, where it stops at High Street, Glasgow Queen Street, and Charing cross. It is once stop west of Garrowhill station and fares are a little cheaper than from there. It's just under £2.50 for a return from Shettleston to Queen Street.
The station is at ground level, though it's on a low-level line. It has a manned ticket booth and a small vestibule where you can sit indoors and wait for the train. Commuter trains are frequent, arriving every 15 minutes in both directions between about 7am and 7pm, and every 30 minutes on Sundays and evenings.
Not the most exciting of train stations, but it does the job! read more
