No taxi arrived and when I called the office they said, sorry we have no cars in the area, you should try another company. Wife and I stranded at midnight in a cold dark Edinburgh night. The booking staff on the other end of the telephone, are very rude each time I call and will often put the phone down and end the call abruptly when you are requesting a service. Even when I am at Asda with a trolley full of shopping. Taxis are always late. They are very unreasonable with regards to being on time and when it comes to collecting my daughter to take her to school to, and from school, they have caused a lot of nonsense. I requested to pay via card prior to the journey, and for some reason some of the taxi drivers are too lazy to get out of the car to come and collect payment. Also, one of the taxi drivers were 30 minutes late collecting my daughter from school last Friday. I waited by my front door for the driver to come and collect a payment, and he just drove off and when I went to complain about this, I was told by the guy on the other end of the phone that it's not their problem and they don't really care about the school pickups in the area because that's not a priority. I offered to send over a payment via transfer but the driver very kindly said there was no need. As for the 'customer service' booking staff... I will never ever use this taxi service again, because the manager abruptly contacted me this afternoon and accused me of being rude to her colleague whom was indeed very rude and insulting to me and told me that they were no longer going to collect my daughter to and from school and told me it was my problem. You are an awful company, and you have absolutely the worst Customer Service service skills if any at all. You have no empathy for people with mental health issues, and you don't care about the children in the area. You only care about how much money you make from each fare. You are a disgrace of a company, and I will make this well-known to as many locals as possible. I am absolutely disgusted and really upset by your service. I am a single parent I don't have any family to support me and I Can't drive, so I use public transport on a daily basis to go anywhere. The people that work for you are completely vile and evil and should have the sack for the way that they have spoken to me. I have a sharp tongue, and they deserved every bit of it in response to how they spoke to me. It's no wonder Motherwell has so many issues with a taxi firm like yours.

No arguments with the bus service as such, or even the ugly red colour of the buses themselves, but some individual bad experiences. Chiefly, one of the drivers nudged my Dads car some years ago and denied responsibility. It was resolved though, I should add. I also didn't like their initial tactic of pulling in on front of other buses to steal their customers which they did efficiently with the use of walkie talkies. I also made a passing comment at a bus stop to a woman about how I didn't like Coakley buses because of these things who informed me that 'it's just good business', revealing herself to be Mr. Coakley's sister in law or something. Her initial comment to my remark on not liking Coakley buses was 'Is it because he is Catholic?' as if my decision on what bus to get on for a 5 minute journey is in some way influenced by a search on the religion of a companies staff, going on to tell me about all the money the main dude gives to charity every year. It was obscure. Suffice to say, I waited on the next bus, which wasn't a Coakley one.

On my return journey I was accompanying my friend who is registered blind, and I believe known to the driver. We were approximately 5 strides away from the bus stop, I put my hand out and was astounded when the blonde haired lady driver thought it hilariously to laugh and wave as she sailed on past in an empty bus I might add. I made my thought very clear on Face Book and was amazed at the response from disabled people that this shocking behaviour is common amongst your drivers. You company receives a substantial government grant to run this service, and quite frankly you are not providing this. We the passengers deserve better. I await your response as quite frankly I am disgusted at this behaviour.

Not usually one for writing bad reviews, however I would avoid H&S Coaches at all costs! Alarm…read morebells should have rang when i initially placed the booking as I had to contact them on 2 separate occasions to confirm the booking and that the booking was for a coach with toilet facilities as this was a must have on the bus. On the day of the booking the driver arrived at the designated pick up point on time and was very friendly. There were no issues with the outward journey and we were dropped off. Upon leaving the bus I spoke with the driver to arrange a pick up point and confirmed that it would be the same coach for the return journey which I was informed that it would be. After our event the bus was there on time for the pick up, however this was not the same coach that had brought us to the event. Upon entering the coach we were met with a foul smell which can only be described as a port-a-loo which had been left unattended for weeks. This was extremely disappointing as the smell was coming from the toilet and made it unusable for many on the coach. For those that did have to use it we only had use of it for around 20mins of the journey until the door jammed shut. When the driver was asked about the toilet I was informed that the company had just bought the coach and he had been to collect it before coming back for our group so wasn't aware that there were any issues. This is extremely disappointing as it was clear there had been no cleaning or checks done on the coach before using it for our journey. We were then left for over an hour with no toilet facilities. I have contacted the company on 3 occasions now to discuss the matter with no reply. Terrible experience and poor customer service!

I have never stayed myself but go regularly for a lunch or sometimes as a treat at dinner time, with a great grill menu. It's always busy, but not loud and the service is really good. You can also use this place for conference facilities that rival that of the nearby Heritage Centre. Recommended for a nice quiet wholesome lunch.

It isn't very grand, or very modern. It's just kind of...there. I have been to the Bentley many, many times for weddings, anniversaries, lunches and dinners over the years. I went recently with a group of old school friends. I have no idea why the person booked here, although the selection is limited in Motherwell I suppose, but I thought it was a strange choice for three 21 year old girls! The dining room looks pretty much like someone's dining room in their home, which put me off a bit but I suppose they are going for a homely feel with the whole hotel. The menu was good value, three courses for just under £15, which was not bad at all for a hotel. I had the melon with orange and grapefruit for a starter which was small and presented well, and very tasty. I moved onto chicken and bacon in a chasseur sauce, which was served with potatoes and veg, nice and hearty, with a real home cooked taste. It is not haut cuisine and it isn't modern; all of the dishes served are traditional 'Sunday dinner' type dishes, which is lovely if you like that kind of thing, and perfect for a family meal where everyone likes different things. Dessert was Apple pie with ice cream which was served warm. It was, again, very hearty and stodgy and reminded me of the Apple Pie my Gran used to make on Sundays, which was lovely. All of the food was good, tasty and filling. Although I tend to prefer lighter meals like pastas and fish, this was a nice change and somewhere I would definitely visit again.
