DO NOT VISIT IF YOU'RE NOT A MILLIONAIRE TL;DR: Charged me $720 for a visit over Zoom in which he offered no advice. First visit, Dr. Goldberg was 1.5 hours late too, then we rescheduled because he no-showed me. On his do-over, he was 50 minutes late for his first appointment (me, at 7:50am, how does that even happen -- he logged on after 8:45am). We met for 20 minutes to discuss my strange bloodwork results in regards to my TSH levels. Then he billed me for a full hour -- this guy didn't even look over my NAME beforehand -- and refused to adjust my bill down from $720. An extremely unhelpful experience and none of my questions were answered. Chose a specific insurance code which he knew my insurance would not pay. Crooked. Crooked. read more

I don't understand how a doctor cannot return his patient call for two weeks because front desk says his busy!

Today I had my first appointment with Dr. Goldberg. He was wonderful. I recommend bringing a list of symptoms if you have more than a couple. I had an entire list typed up. He went through each one thoroughly. He did not rush at all and explained everything in a detailed and understandable way. He's very kind and gentle in both manner and practice. As a woman, it's important to feel comfortable with your male doctor. If you have a difficult time feeling at ease with male doctors then he's definitely a great choice for you. The front office administrators were amiable and kind. As was the nurse that took my blood samples. My veins are small regardless of how much water I drink. In the past I've had terrible experiences having blood drawn. She was successful on the first attempt. It was painless and quick: I will update my review once I see the doctor a few more times but so far so good. read more

I went to Dr. Goldberg many moons ago and got the impression I was not a challenging case. Maybe a bit boring to him. I knew within a few minutes this would not be my doctor. I saw him in my 40s, minus a thyroid and type2 Diabetes, gout, etc, etc, etc. I don't believe that he embraces new tech or supplements or even doubts what you think you have. I had Disney insurance so pretty good. To the woman on hmo, forget him. There are many in this city to really help you. Keep trying. Your experience is disgraceful! read more

GO SEE DR G! He is the best endocrinologist Ive ever had, and i have probably seen over 10 of them in the past 17 years as a type 1 diabetic. Not to mention countless doctors. His front office staff is a DREAM! They always always pick up calls, return them promptly and make sure you are well taken care of. Dr Goldberg is very detailed, giving each patient the time they deserve and makes sure every question and concern is addressed. He is up on all the new research and medications and works with you to make sure you are on the best treatment plan FOR YOU. He has truly changed my life in so many ways and I am so thankful to him for that! His nurse Dayana is the sweetest woman ever. She knows what she is doing and is quick to respond if theres ever an emergency or problem with a refill or anything. The diabetes educator/nutritionist in the office, Charlotte Roberts is also the highest quality you will get. she has over 30 years experience and just a wealth of knowledge that anyone would be lucky to absorb some of! She has gotten me on the right track in so many ways that i can't even express. I couldn't ask for a better team to have my back, and for the first time with any doctor/doctors office I really know i can count on this them no matter what. Thank you Dr Goldberg for everything you do!!! read more

I really hate to give a negative review, because I really liked Dr. Goldberg when I met him the first time, but unlike the other reviewers I am not willing to wait more than 40 minutes for my scheduled appointment time. The first time I waited 30 minutes and I almost gave up on that as well. It is just not ok, especially for an appointment made a month + in advance. Not to be cliché , but my time is valuable too and it is almost rude to assume people should wait around for poor time planning. The support staff is clearly lacking help; they need an experienced office manager immediately to resolve this issue. read more

Dr. Goldberg is an extraordinary doctor. I have had rare and complicated issues; he is thorough and finds answers when no one else can. He does not put his patients on a time clock. It is clear he loves what he does and is great at solving puzzles. His actions make clear he truly cares. Thanks Dr. G you are one of a kind!!! read more

He's really so SO friendly and really listens to your concerns while at the same time trying to make you feel better about wutever it is that ur worrying about. He's just really sweet and caring and funny too!!! I loved how he PERSONALLY called me back with my test results, which came out fine. I guess I'm super healthy and maybe I'm just a complete worry wart! lol. Would totally recommend him!!! =) read more

Just had my first visit with Dr. Goldberg. The feeling of confidence I had leaving his office is one that I haven't had in so so so long. He spent time getting to know me and my medical history and seemed so genuinely engaged. I sadly cannot say that of my last doctor. I think I had gotten jaded. I had forgotten this feeling of assurance. :) I'm 29 years old and 5 years cancer free. I'm so fortunate to be in remission but it's a lonely path to navigate when you have a doctor that seems more or less checked out and asks why you're there when you come in for a scheduled appointment. -_- I don't know! lol I'm excited to be a patient of Dr. Goldberg's. :) Additionally, his nurse Diana is fantastic and his front desk crew is top notch as well. It was a wonderful experience. read more

Dr Neil Goldberg is a great doctor. He addressed all my concerns and helped me understand what is happening to my body. He always listens and does everything he can to help out the patient. He is a catch. read more

I saw Dr Shadi Abdelnour today. It was a perfect experience from the first phone call. Joella answered the phone when I called last week and she had the perfect front office manner. She made me feel comfortable. Dr Goldberg was booked but she said she could get me in with his associate Dr Abdelnour. When I got to the office and parked on the street the meter wouldn't take my credit card. Joella gave me some change from her purse. And all this great stuff is before I even meet the Doctor. The intake forms asked so many questions that I've never been asked before which is good. The Doctor was very easy to understand and explained things very thoroughly. He was very kind and unassuming. He is obviously very smart. He took the time to speak with my primary care Dr to discuss my care. He made a plan and explained the process to me. Wow is what I can say. I feel so fortunate I found him. His nurse was just as kind and caring. How I found him is by having two other offices I was referred to couldn't get me in for a month or 4 months. I googled endocrinologists and they came up and had good reviews. I'm the lucky one. I'm in good hands and can't wait to feel well again. Follow up February 2018. I had surgery from a wonderful Doctor that Dr. Abdelnour referred me to. Thank G-d everything went well. Dr. Abdelnour's office called me a couple of weeks after the surgery to have me come in and see how I was doing. I find this type of care amazing. He wasn't even the surgeon and they called me! He did blood work and called me with the results and to change my medication. Again I didn't have to follow up they don't drop the ball. I'm just so thrilled with Dr. Abdelnour. Time to schedule another follow up appointment. read more

This is the worst experience I have ever been through with a Doctor Office. It is like no one cares about you. I know if it is because you reach a certain age and people don't care about you or how you feel. Now I am sure Dr. Goldberg is a great Doctor.. But I call his office to get a appointment because my doctor referred me to him. I call them three time the girl told me this is the first time they have ever had anything to do with the doctor that sent me to them also they did not have a referral. Okay I get on the call the doctor office get on the girl because I am thinking she did not do her job. She told me yes I did fax it over three times. Now finally the office of Dr. Goldberg the lady that I talk that is in charge of making appointment tell me OH Dr. Goldberg said he is not sure if he is suppose to see you cause you are with caremore so therefore no he will not see you. Now I don't know what that means but she could have told that the first time I call that he could not see me because of where I come from. I talk with her three time and she kept telling me she did not have a referral which now I am beginning to think she was lying. I also feel bad because I thought it was my doctors office not doing what they were suppose do. I have a HMO first time I have ever had an HMO I am beginning to see Doctors look at you very different with a HMO. read more

The finest endocrinologist I've had over my 28 years with diabetes. Extremely personable and professional. The wait can be long and parking is expensive but I think Dr. Goldberg is worth it. I especially like the way he takes the time to explain things well. There's a reason why he's a clinical professor at UCLA. read more

Dr Hornichter was my original Doctor until he retired and was assigned to Dr. Goldberg. Let me tell you Dr. Goldberg is the best Diabetic care doctor in the US he also deals with a lot of thyroid but Diabetes is his Specialty. Due to his help and care I have lost 60 LBS! got my A1C level back to 5.5 (where it needs to be) and he is fast on getting those prescriptions out in a cool prompt manner. Downside not worth docking a star is the reception staff. They are a bit clueless and rotate from time to time. I don't think its Dr. Goldberg doing this its Cedars. Also they DO NOT validate parking that is a bit pricey in that structure. Come from the north side of La Cienega trust me you will know why when you get there and try and make that left turn into parking. Overall this Doctor saved my life and he is ALWAYS accepting new patients so if you are a type 1 or type 2 diabetic SEE HIM if you cant afford it apply for Cedars-Sinai Financial AID they cover all doctors visits in their network !!if anymore questions please PM ME I can go on for a while ! HE is by appointment only unless Emergency.....And don't forget Charlotte SHE IS THE BEST ALSO !!!!! you gotta sit down with her and listen to her and if you do there's no reason why you cant get that Diabetes under control!!! read more

A DR IS NO BETTER THAN THE STAFF THAT SUPPORT HIM AND THEREFORE IN MY OPINION He IS DANGEROUS!!! While I was at work today I received a frantic call from my daughter who has type 1 diabetes and sees Dr Neil Goldberg. She was frantic because she had been feeling dreadful for 2 days with glucose levels over 560 (normal hovers around 100.). I wanted to call 911 but my daughter insisted on calling her Dr, which she did early this morning. The receptionist told my daughter that she needed to talk to the doctor before allowing her to be seen . I was 50 miles away without a car as I frantically heard her labored words saying she called the dr back 21/2 hours later to be told harshly "I told you I would call you back." Around 1:00 that day she received a call back saying the dr had left and that my daughter should come in on Monday to see the nutritionist.(it was Friday when my daughter called) My daughter became upset and the receptionist hung up on her. I don't know if she was treated this poorly because she had an HMO, or if the dr doesn't know how his staff is compromising the life of his patients. I only know that she had a serious medical emergency and was denied treatment. Also this is the second encounter with this receptionist. Dr Goldberg would be well advised to find staff don't jeopardize the life of his patients. read more

I have never taken the time to write a review, but felt the need to warn people, and get the doctor's office to pay attention. I went to Dr Goldberg back in February because I have Hashimoto's. Let me just say it is hard in LA to find a good endo who is attentive to thyroid disease, Goldberg is no different. But what makes him a flagrantly poor doctor is how he treats his patients. After boosting my prescription for Synthroid (his answer to it all even though I had told him I lost 7 lbs the last time I increased) I went back a month later to get blood tests. I called two weeks after the test to get the results left a message with the assistant. No call back. I called three weeks after to get the results. Nothing. I really wanted to see where my levels were because we were watching to see if I convert T4 to T3 properly. Finally - four weeks after the blood tests, I got a call from his office. But... the secretary merely wanted to cancel my upcoming appointment. I asked - "What about my blood test results?" She didn't know anything about it and told me the doctor would call me back to discuss. It is Novemeber and he STILL hasn't called. I gave up on him long ago but still kept taking a modified version of what he prescribed. My pharmacist called the office today to refill my prescription, and the doctor told them I was never under his care, even though he wrote the prescription. He may be smart, but he has an ego and is woefully behind on the alternative treatments for thyroid, and doesn't appear to give a care about his patients. read more

Dr. Goldberg is a fantastic doctor! He takes the time to give you a thorough exam. He listens to all your concerns. The first 2 times I went to him, the wait was horrible, 2 hours! I complained to him & then he told me the secret. It is best to make an appointment either the first appointment in the morning or the first appointment after lunch. I did, & I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes. He is one of the most caring doctors. I highly recommend him. read more

This physician is knowledgeable, thoughtful, and caring. He is an excellent problem solver! Among many a medical mystery he has solved for me, was the time he insisted the surgeon evaluate me for appendicitis...the surgeon did not want to admit me for observation, Dr. Goldberg insisted....sure enough I did have appendicitis and indeed needed an appendectomy, that night. Yes, the wait is awful, but I just pack my work or reading material...and use the waiting room as a library. He is worth the inconvenience. I have never had another doctor who is as committed to keeping his patients healthy and as committed in making sure his patients understand their diagnosis and treatment goals. read more

dr neil goldberg was inappropriate with me during a consultation. he gave me a breast exam when i felt it was unnecessary and made inappropriate comments on how they felt and what a good boob job i had etc etc. i feel as though this is an abuse of power and was to intimidated to say so because he made me feel like this was normal doctor protocol. read more

I don't know why people complain about the wait. This doctor spends real time with you and listens to you and comes up with a plan just for YOU. Just think for a moment..you're going to the doctor in the first place because you need help with something.. Sure the wait in other places could only be 5 minutes long but the doctor sees you for only 10-15 minutes as well then you are on your way. Why does that sound better than having to maybe wait longer, but also getting an hour or two with the actual doctor himself? He is very knowledgeable and you can tell you are in good hands when talking to him. read more

What an intelligent, thoughtful professional. A great doctor with a great patient manner. I highly recommend him.
