I met with Gregory Jezarian, who is both a partner in Kramer Bros. as well as the owner of G. Jezarian Jewelers which is in the same location. The jewelry business is a complicated and expensive mystery to most of us and what is most important is trust, which of course is a challenge when you've not worked with someone before, or if you don't buy jewelry often and never develop a relationship with anyone. But I trust our insurance agent so I decided to trust Gregory Jezarian. I am so very glad that I did. He is extremely smart and knowledgeable about the jewelry business and marketplace, and he did a thoughtful and transparent appraisal of my jewelry, some of which I've owned for most of my life. He also understands the insurance business and knew how to prepare the appraisal so that it was a document useful to both me and my insurance company. Being so happy with the appraisal, I also asked Gregory to help me sell some pieces, and repair and polish others. He also sells jewelry, and is particularly expert in diamonds and pearls. Overall, it was one of the best consumer experiences I had had in a long time and I would recommend Gregory Jezarian to anyone with any kind of jewelry needs. Her office is located inside a bldg that deals with diamonds, definitely had to go through a couple of security checks to get there. Once there she showed my fiancee and I not only the ring I had requested to view but also a couple of other options she has that she thought I might like. Eddie and Paul of Marco Polishing provided me with incomplete service and extremely rude…read morecommunication. I paid $340 to have a watch replated, and Paul promised it would be ready in a week. On the day of pickup, they called last-minute to say they needed more time, leaving me waiting outside for hours. I waited hours on the streets of the Diamond District because they have no waiting area for a total of four hours for the watch to dry. I had to cancel appointments due to their unfortunate timing and communication. Finally, Paul called to say the watch needed even more time to set and offered for me to wait or have it mailed. After wasting the entire day, I agreed to have it mailed. Eventually, they mailed the watch, but it arrived in ruined condition, looking nothing like before. I called Paul to express my dissatisfaction with the finished product. It felt like they mailed the watch knowing they ruined it to avoid dealing with the issue in person. I requested a refund for the work, despite the watch being beyond repair. Paul said he needed to speak to his supervisor, Eddie, about the refund. After a week of being ignored, I finally spoke to Eddie, who was incredibly rude and dismissive. As a matter fact EDDIE WAS BEYOND RUDE, treating me as though I was the one at fault. He repeatedly interrupted me while I tried to explain the situation, making it clear he had no interest in hearing me out. His attitude was dismissive, as if I was a complete inconvenience and wasting his precious time. It was shockingly unprofessional. He offered a mere $20 credit for a completely botched job. This place is untrustworthy, and I strongly advise against entrusting them with any valuable items. If you're thinking about getting your jewelry fixed, RUN the other way! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE PLACE! And whatever you do, don't trust EDDIE with your expensive items--he'll treat them like trash!
