Well, when I bought my home, I called around and 'interviewed' a couple of home heating oil…read moredelivery companies and wasn't impressed. Then, I did a web search for the lowest prices, which lead to a few more calls- still- not impressed. But, then I asked some friends, neighbors, etc. and they all recommended Buxton Oil. So, I sent an e-mail, and, called for current pricing- which was within a penny or two of the lowest price.to boot. When I called, they referred me to a heating system professional- best people as well, but, I promised not to tell anyone, because they already have too many customers! Anyways, I finally stopped checking prices, as I have found- invariably- that they are either the lowest, or, within a penny of the cheapest price within 30 miles of the house. Finally, they deliver extremely quickly. For example, I requested a delivery this morning at say, 7:30AM. When I was leaving my house at 9am, the truck was coming down my street to deliver! I stopped to ask if he was going to... and, he responded "How's THAT for service?" It's very impressive, and, it has been very consistent over the last 2 years. So, not only are they very responsive to my home heating oil needs, they maintain a good sense of humor, in an otherwise dull business. I have had nothing but fun dealing with all of the people- every call, every e-mail- all communication has always resulte in a good laugh. So, if you want great service, a friendly voice, quick delivery AND the lowest prices, sign up with Buxton Oil- they really are that good! Cheap, fast & friendly- that's what I want, and, I get the satisfaction of using yet another local (to me) company! The best of all worlds.

When he came he also told me to say to tell them that my gauge was not working. He said they waive this all the time and it wouldn't be a problem. Surprise0it was a problem! They refused to waive it and the driver lied and said he didn't tell me that. This is awful to do when a customer is in such a vulnerable situation. This is poor customer care. Also when I called, office manager Danielle indicated that I can always find another company if I wasn't happy. This was awkward and didn't leave me feeling valued as a customer.

We switched an oil account to Haffner/Energy North from another local provider. We also had them…read moreinstall a new Oil furnace/boiler. While oil delivery service has been satisfactory, the install was overpriced and raised questions about the integrity of Haffner's/Energy North. We had a proposal from our former dealer to install a Buderus boiler based system. I asked the Haffners team for a proposal and price to install a system of equal quality and especially efficiency. Haffner's proposed to install a Peerless boiler based system. In multiple discussions, that system was represented to be of the same quality and efficiency as the Buderus. Those representations proved to be not accurate. I later learned that while Peerless is a very well regarded brand, it is of lesser quality and lower efficiency than the Buderus. This first came to light when one of the Haffner's technicians who installed the Peerless system acknowledged those facts in conversation after the install. I was very disappointed and immediately raised concerns about the inaccurate statements and the lack of value in what Haffner's had installed. They "met the price" of the Buderus proposal [their original price was higher for the Peerless system]. When I challenged Haffner's supervisory staff, they offered a $100 dollar price accommodation. Given the discrepancy in value and efficiency, that did not begin to make up for the inaccurate statements we relied on in accepting their proposal. This was a system for a 95 year old widow, they should have been more honest. I ultimately spoke with a neutral party about the comparison between the two boilers - a 30+ years in the business plumbing and heating professional who has worked in my home [the system at issue was for my elderly mother] for two decades. He said while Peerless is a good quality unit, it is not at the level of the Buderus. He said in his entire career, he never had experienced a defect in a Buderus device. He also explained the difference in efficiency. In the peerless boiler, heat is transferred in a single pass around a heated chamber. The medium to be heated in the Buderus system passes three times, transferring more heat for each unit of oil burned. That information only increased my disappointment with what Haffner's's/Energy North represented to me and how they treated my mother once the inaccuracies and unfairness were brought to their attention. Conclusion: Good service and low oil prices. But pay attention to what is represented about equipment quality and efficiency. In retrospect, we should have stuck with the competing local dealer and installed the Buderus based system.

I would leave negative stars if I could. These people are con artists. My oil pump died last May,…read morethey claimed they replaced it with a brand new one, charged me 1500. In October when I tried using the heat, it would not come on. I tried finding a reset button but couldn't, that's when I noticed the "new" pump was covered in dust. I called them and they sent a tech, who showed me how to reset, it was the actual the flashing light you had to press and hold for 10 seconds to reset, my old pump had a clear button on the side. they charged me 350 more for the visit. The pump never worked properly. The entire winter it kept shutting off every few days, eventually getting worse until it was shutting off every day. I called them again, they claimed it was the controller that was malfunctioning but they never changed that, which was a lie, it was attached to the pump and totally different from my old one, which had the button on the side, I had to pay them 350 for a tech to show me how to reset this new controller. He claimed it was irrelevant since it should still be under warranty. 3 months later I got a bill for 850 for changing the controller. I called and explained and they said they would get back to me. They never did. Instead they paid my service bill with money I paid for oil delivery, then sent me a bill for the same amount for oil delivery. all oil deliveries were paid in full the day after delivery. It's a lie and scam to get me to pay for a junk pump. When I try and call they hang up on me.
