I have been hiring Neighbors A/C for the last few years for the annual maintenance program of my office. Then I brought them to do maintenance and repairs at home too. The value of a service company is given by the talent and wisdom of its people. Had them come to diagnose a problem I had , turned out to be the fan motor, what impress me the most is they came within 45 minutes to an hour and a half & diagnosed. It. came back the next day with the part and fixed it.. I recommended them to a neighbor that lives in the same community. I have been using this AC Service for the past 10 years. I can't say enough as to their quality and service response. I have been on their service contract the entire time. I didn't really believe in this service previously, but I certainly do now. I haven't had one day without AC in 10 years. They seem to catch the impending problem before it occurs. We were referred to Neighbors by a close relative who has used them multiple times in the past. When looking at the reviews, you see mostly five star. When companies come out and do what they are asked to do and they do it without any issues, it's easy to rate them five stars. What happens when the company makes a mistake but then does not make up for it? That was my experience with them this week. We were looking to have a standard service performed on our air-conditioning unit. The technician came out and started to do his standard routine. Eventually he found some challenges that needed to be addressed. While doing so, he destroyed the transformer that connects my Internet in the attic. That was a problem for me because I work from home. My biggest issue was that I had to ask him if he tripped the wire. That's when he told me he did and then told me he didn't know how to fix it and asked me if I did. So we had to contact Comcast and pay for them to do so. Neighbors did reimburse us for that. The other issue is while the technician was in the attic he spilled water that leaked onto the ceiling in one of my bedrooms.. I heard it while I was in the hallway but was unaware of any leaks at the time. I asked him about it and he said he spilled water in the attic. Several hours later I noticed multiple water stains in one of my bedrooms. I was really upset that I had to question him about both issues that he caused and he wasn't forthcoming to tell me what he did. I contacted the company about the ceiling and they mentioned they would send another technician out and treat that area with a primer. I was concerned that the ceiling color and the primer color we're not going to match. So I mentioned this to the receptionist and she was challenging me that we don't know if the colors wouldn't match. She told me to wait until the outcome. The outcome is I have a discoloration in the bedroom like I said I would. Then when I asked what they could do for me, I was told that the owner said there was nothing else that they could do for me. I am really disappointed that I am left to correct their mistake. I will never do business with them neither will my relative who recommended them to me. So they now lost two customers. To me, this company is not good at representing themselves when they make a mistake. I believe I saw their true colors. If you are looking for a reliable company to service your air conditioning, I would say they do a good job. I will however say that I hope for your sake they don't make a mistake. You probably will be the ones to have to correct it. If you do still choose to have Neighbors do your work, I would suggest you request Richard. He seemed like he knew what he was doing and I wish I had him in the beginning. read more

I've been using Neighbors A/C for 13 years and have been totally pleased with their service. I'm a snowbird spending 6 months or more in Canada so I need a totally reliable a/c service and that's Neighbors A/C in a nutshell. On Friday while I was in Canada I was told that my a/c in Boca Raton had shut off. I phoned Neighbors Monday morning, they came the same day to diagnose the problem. On Wednesday they installed a new motor, no fuss, no muss! Yeah... I was in love with these people in May of 2015. They did a nice job on my install and they did when they said they would. Fast forward to today. Turns out the compressor coil has a hole (leak). They come out (for $85) and diagnose it. Then they tell me they can either "fix" it for $1500 or they can "replace" the coil (which the part is warrantied) for $1950 worth of "labor". I was floored. The unit is a little over 2 years old. To add insult to injury they wanted to charge me $90 per pound of refrigerant (410). The stuff sells for $5 a pound. I understand that they need to mark things up to earn a living. But from $5 to $90? For one of their own customers who ALSO referred people to them? I don't think so. The owner said that the going rate for 410 was $90 a pound. So I, right in front of the tech, called the most expensive HVAC company I knew. They said they charge $60. I can understand needing to make money, but the parts would have been free... and they installed it the first time. I tried to explain to them that they were way out of line, and I guess they're really busy and didn't seem to care. They got my $85. They won't get another cent. I don't trust them. If I had to do it again I would NOT use this company because I do not feel they stand behind what they sell and install. There are too many other HVAC companies in South Florida. I had a service for an air conditioning unit that was not working. I called and Rebecca completely forgot to put the appointment in the computer. I kept waiting and when I called she said she forgot to make the appointment. It's very hard with my schedule so I was not happy but I needed the service. The technician came put five pounds of Freon and for three days it looked like nothing happened so I called to complain. Rebecca did not want to send the tech and wanted to do it by phone saying there was a leak. I told her the tech said that if there is a leak it was very small. I insisted for a tech to come because the problem was not solved. I made an appointment for 10-12 and she called me at 8 am telling me the tech was on his way. I told her that I made the appointment for 10-12. Had to reschedule again. The tech came and said there was no problem. I do not live in the house now so by the time we could get a tech the AC seemed to start working again. I still don't think is working well but I did not want to spend more time with them. Then the tech wanted to charge me again 85 bucks and I refused to pay bc this was to check on a previous complain. I called and another person answered and said I have to pay. I am not paying as this is to follow up on the problem that I was not satisfied in the first place. It took several calls, failed appointments, trying to charge me when I was not happy with their first service. I am extremely busy with my work and this was my first time with them. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else. read more

Used Neighbors AC services for a few years at my home in Parkland, FL., however since the company changed to new ownership, service deteriorate and become a completely unreliable provider. Last AC unit purchased with them was delivered with a downgraded model and the company refused to honor the year warranty on service and part. Definitely not recommended​. read more

I've been partnered with Neighbors A/C for years! I was on jury duty with Dan and found that he was one of the few, if only, companies in the area that would replace my A/C system. We had gas instead of electric. The job was seamless, as subsequent visits over the years. Company is friendly, yet professional, thorough, and their pricing is very fair. We were out of the country mid-August on vacation and returned to find that our A/C had gone on the fritz while we were gone. I called at 8:15 in the morning and had a tech in my house by 9:30 ... in the heat of the season! If you need AC service it's cheaper to call an attorney or a doctor! I have a rental unit that needed a new fan motor. I was quoted $950 for the job. My regular AC man had just had surgery and could not do the job. He said get rid of these people. My tenants needed AC. I had to do something.I got them to lower the bill to $ 850. The parts were $250 which leaves $ 600 labor. It's rated a 2 hr job! The quoted hr rate from the company is $85 hr. The job took 4 hrs, $600 divided by 4 is $150. Great and reliable! I just moved to the area and my air conditioner broke yesterday. I called a friend to see if they had anyone to recommend and they gave me a number to call. the company was Neighbors AC and I was very happy with their service! I called them, someone answered right away and I had a technician at my house within 2 hours. Justin was the tech who came out. He was extremely polite and attentive to my needs. He explained everything and really helped me understand what was wrong with my AC (the blower motor needed to be replaced). He even programmed my thermostat and showed me how to use it which was a great help. Their prices were very reasonable and all in all, I could not have been more pleased with this service company. They really went above and beyond to provide me with superior service and I will definitely be recommending them in the future. Great company and a very satisfied customer! read more
