Worst service experience I have ever had…read more We waited 10 mins for hostess to see us, only acknowledged our presence once I confirmed I was standing in the right place to be sat. Then waited 15 more mins for "ready" table to be wiped... ok, they are busy. Server took 1/2 our drink orders, left. We went to the bar to order the rest of our drinks. Then waited another 15-20 to try and get our food order in, then had to go get server and ask. Never once check in n us again. Then sitting for a full hour, I asked our server to check on our food. (So we have been at our table for 1:15-1:20 at this point) At which point the server comes back and tells us she doesn't have 6 of our eight meals. That they have run out of food. I was in total shock, she had not plans of telling us that they ran out of food until an hour in I asked her to check in on our food. Restaurants get busy, they run out of food... not typically 3/4 of a ticket... but it happens. It was her snotty Insults and attitude that somehow we were the problem. when I expressed shock that she didn't communicate that our food was not available sooner so that we coupd Reorder. Shocked that after waiting an hour that we would trust her to place another order and just see what comes up in an hour ( a party with 5 kids). Now 8 pm and have to find some other food to feed the kids for dinner in Biwabik MN. Lovely. Although I will say another server stepped in, and saw our insane frustration, and saved the day. she expressed a new order and we left with take out burgers. Quite a surreal experience.

I chose the Greek salad, one of my favs, and it was a very generous portion full of cucumbers, tomatoes, Kalamata olives and feta cheese, oh and a bit of lettuce - my kind of salad. Very good. Wish I would have remembered to ask for dressing on the side as it was quite covered but still good. The waitstaff was 2 people for the whole restaurant so they were super busy, especially with a couple large tables but they were friendly, warned it could be a bit of a wait and in the end, it was faster than many other restaurants we had been to. No worries there. They did a great job.

Now for the service. I believe her name is Jessie? She is a server there with dark hair, usually wears a bandana or beanie with hair in side ponies. She is so rude! I am always a nice person and she has visibly rolled her eyes, pursed her lips and made my interactions with her very uncomfortable and unprofessional. I do not know how the owner has kept her on all these years. I cannot be the only one who has thought of her as being very rude. She is rude in resteraunt and when I pick up orders as well!

A Reuben pizza, a chicken Alfredo, and a pepperoni, mushroom and sausage. As we first arrived it's apparent that this must be the only bar in town so people come here to get their kicks. The inside is old and antique looking and maybe needed a good sprucing up. My wife and I stood there for 10 minutes while the bartender was favoring the other side of the bar. A different person who made it clear to my wife and I that she isn't working but guess she could help us got our pizzas which came up to $63 for the 3 "special pizzas." So then we ask for a bottle of Lemon (Rum). She said sure we have a 1.75 for $22. She brings back a 1 Liter and goes to ring it up. When I mentioned the size difference she says "oh that's all we have." That's fine but but she still charged $22 for the 1 Liter. I even asked her and she says, "it's still $22." I mean I may not be the smartest person out there but I can figure the math on this one. Anyway, we get back to our campsite and open up the pizzas to find that each one was burnt on top, little to no sauce so on a burnt pizza it's worse then a stale cracker laid out in the middle July. These pizzas were special, specially made for the garbage. If you can make it through your weekend with the food you have, do it, I will not be recommending the Hide Away Bar to anyone.
