Worst service experience I have ever had. We waited 10 mins for hostess to see us, only acknowledged our presence once I confirmed I was standing in the right place to be sat. Then waited 15 more mins for "ready" table to be wiped... ok, they are busy. Server took 1/2 our drink orders, left. We went to the bar to order the rest of our drinks. Then waited another 15-20 to try and get our food order in, then had to go get server and ask. Never once check in n us again. Then sitting for a full hour, I asked our server to check on our food. (So we have been at our table for 1:15-1:20 at this point) At which point the server comes back and tells us she doesn't have 6 of our eight meals. That they have run out of food. I was in total shock, she had not plans of telling us that they ran out of food until an hour in I asked her to check in on our food. Restaurants get busy, they run out of food... not typically 3/4 of a ticket... but it happens. It was her snotty Insults and attitude that somehow we were the problem. when I expressed shock that she didn't communicate that our food was not available sooner so that we coupd Reorder. Shocked that after waiting an hour that we would trust her to place another order and just see what comes up in an hour ( a party with 5 kids). Now 8 pm and have to find some other food to feed the kids for dinner in Biwabik MN. Lovely. Although I will say another server stepped in, and saw our insane frustration, and saved the day. she expressed a new order and we left with take out burgers. Quite a surreal experience. read more

The employees were so nice and provided great service. The food was VERY good and prices are reasonable except the dinner salad is overpriced for what you get. I highly recommend the pulled pork dilly dip! So good! read more

Their BBQ is amazing. I had the pulled pork and it was tender and delicious. You can eat it with or without the sauce - it's that good. Guys - I grew up in Texas. I know my BBQ and wherever I travel I plan my vacation around places to eat . Doesn't everyone? I eat at tiny hole in wall places, the Costco food court to Nobu and Michelin rated restaurants. Come here. You won't be disappointed. I loved the pulled pork and creamed corn. They make their food from scratch nom nom nom. I'm coming back this week to try their brisket and fried ice cream. Closed and moved some form of the operation to Giant's Ridge. Nothing has ever come of any food service at the Ridge, and I suspect this place, which was packed in its tenure on Hwy 169, south of Lake Vermilion, likely will fare no better. read more

Nice country place. Service is great and friendly. Our server Shannon was great. Amazing cornbread and honey butter. Tender ribs and moist chicken. Steak fries are good and come in a cute basket. I would recommend this place. It is nice to have a new restaurant in the area. read more

Was on my way up to tower on hwy 169. Saw this place and thought you know what let's try it. Best decision ever I got the ribs and beef brisket ... can't say any negatives. You can taste the smoke but even better you can taste the meat the smoke is not OVER done like most BBQ places up here. If your in the area stop you will not regret a thing. read more

Met up with my cousin today upon the Iron Range to meet for lunch. Soon as we sat down, the waitress warned us that the ribs just came out of the smoker. We made up our mind on the spot. My appetite did not allow me to try the sides I got, because those darn ribs Knocked me off my feet to the point where I was blinded and dazed! Yeah I am 12 hours later and 300 miles south, and I still can't stop thinking about them. I need to get up north as soon as I can! read more

We stopped by for the first time today and are so glad we did! The atmosphere is chill and cool and the staff really cares about the customer experience. Went flying by on the highway after a few days in the boundary waters. Turned around to grab a beer and some bbq. We ordered the nachos. They're amazing and all we needed as a party of 2. Great service and cold beer. We'll be back next time we're up. read more

Lunch today was just great! Discovered they do not have Take Out on Friday and Saturday nights...because they are so busy! This is the 2nd time we have tried it. We went when it first opened and my brisket was wonderful, my husbands ribs were not good. We asked for some BBQ sauce and they brought us ice cold BBQ sauce. which if you know anything about BBQ is a huge no no. We figured it was a new place and had some kinks to work out. We went back on the 26th of February. There were 7 of us. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was COLD, and I don't mean just room temperature, I mean there were lumps of unmelted fat/meat juice on and in our pork and brisket. It was disgusting. The beef brisket was dried up and cold as well. It was obvious that it was at least a couple days old and tasted like "refrigerator". It was all ouf our meals, not just mine. The only thing that seemed "fresh' was the burger. The steak fries were excellent. The corn bread was old and dry, it crumbled when you tried to pick it up. The ribs were barely room temperature. The macaroni and cheese was good but it would have been better if it was hot and fresh. I had a blueberry Mule and that was excellent!! When we expressed our concerns about the cold food the server just said " ok, I'll let them know" and walked away. Apparently, who ever "they" were, they didn't care as there was no attempt to make it right. We even showed her the unmelted fat. We paid a lot of money for take out dog food and our party drove all the way from Deer River to try this place. HUGE disappointment. We will not go back and neither will they. I love supporting small local businesses, but you need to up your game. I should get a great meal for what I paid, if nothing else at least a HOT meal. read more
