Terrible experience here. Visiting a buddy in Dayton and stopped in a few weeks back. It was a Saturday night but only a light crowd. Service at the bar was awful; waited about 15 minutes for service even though there was not a line. Asked the bartender for a yuengling beer right in front of the tap (and I pointed to the yuengling tap handle) only to receive a bottle. I politely mentioned that wanted a draft, and the bartender told me that I "didn't ask" and "should have known better if I wanted a draft". When I mentioned that she didn't ask which one I wanted I was told "that's my (as in me) problem". I don't think that I've ever been treated more poorly at a bar. Seemed like a simple fix to hand me a draft instead. Would never come back here. Plenty of other options in the Oregon district area. read more

If you want to go somewhere in the Oregon to get trashed on watery drinks and bud light, dance to terrible playlists, and fight someone for no reason - Ned's is the place to be! There is a slim chance you'll get friendly service at the bar. (But there are a few decent folk) Everyone that works there always looks pissed off. THE BATHROOMS haven't been cleaned in 10 years and you'll never find soap, toilet paper, paper towels or stall doors that actually stay closed. It smells awful. My least favorite place in the OD. And this is coming from years of experiences with friends who just keep wanting to go back for whatever reason. read more

If I could give a zero I would. Staff members ATTACKED my African American Fiancé a day before our wedding. We are not from Dayton and only went here with our wedding party to get out of the house before our big day. We were not intoxicated and planned on having a few drinks here, but ended up getting assaulted by staff. My Fiancé was accused of going into an "unauthorized" area (even though it was not marked off) and he was asked to leave. My fiancé complied but he was separated from me and the rest of the group and I had his phone, so he wanted to leave out the front so that he could gather EVERYONE up to leave. He explained this to the staff and instead of escorting him out to the front, they threw him on the floor when he refused to go out the back of the bar (racist). I, (the bride, 5'2 F) noticed from across the bar that 4 grown men staff members were starting to get violent with my fiancé and rushed over. I ended up getting punched in the face multiple times for trying to get 4 grown men off of my fiancé because he couldn't breath after all of them decided to pile on top of him. They WERE NOT TRYING TO GET HIM OUT OF THE BAR, but instead decided to violently take turns assaulting my fiancé. Definitely the scariest moment of my life thinking I was going to lose my soon to be husband. This actually happened on Sept 15 2022, but it has taken me this long to gather my thoughts and write this review. This place definitely has bad vibes and like the other comments said, this place is RACIST. It is not uncommon to see members of White Power groups hanging out in the front. Do not waste your money here unless you have the same values of this staff. Since this date we have never been back to the Oregon District and I honestly can't wait until we get orders out of OH. I went during the day because I'm not a fan of the nightlife here. However I ordered tequila and pineapple.. disgusting. I just came from a great brewery 2 doors down so to be served a poor drink within a couple of feet of receiving great drinks is really disappointing. I voiced my concerned and the bartender didn't seem to care to fix the issue. My suggestion is use Dole pineapple juice and not the disgusting boxed pineapple juice. Be sure not to visit this bar in the winter months. Apparently Pom Pom knitted beanies are highly against dress code, and bartenders will kick you out for wearing one. Especially a sexist bartender who singled out a female, over 5+ other males who wore beanies, and kept "assisting" her to the door. He refused to let her finish her FIRST drink of the night. Smells like a toilet. Clientele is questionable, and any time you hear about anything bad happening at a bar in the Oregon District, 90% of the time it seems that Ned's is involved. I've only been to Ned Peppers a few times. My boyfriend and I live out of town but every now and again we take a little road trip during the week, since we both work on the weekends. The last time we were there we talked to a girl who was so sweet. We left to check out other bars and ended up back there bc she was so fun and sweet. Yesterday we ended up in Dayton again with hopes we would see her there and we did! I'm pretty sure she said her name was Ali. If the mediocre drinks and terrible ambiance with nowhere to sit wasn't terrible enough...This is by far the worst place in Dayton.. Stepped outside for one second and the bouncer told me I couldn't get back in. I said I was leaving and just needed to grab my bag. It has the perfect infrastructure to be an awesome bar. But holy hell.. The staff is by far the worst on the strip. this is a pretty neat bar, they have a fairly good sized dance floor, it can get pretty packed inside. the prices of drinks didn't seem to bad at all, when we went there was an awesome deal, all you could drink wine for $10 !!!! and it lasted over 4 hrs! it started at 6pm but when it was over and we were already buzzed the party really started! i would totally take someone new to the area here for a good time read more

It was Halloween and it was a very busy night. There was a substantial line. I did not have cash (it's 2017 - no one does) but they were charging a $20 per person cover. I asked if I could start a tab with the bar; get them shots, tip, buy the cover for my gf and I, whatever. I've worked in the service industry so I'm content with spending the cover - plus - at the bar as punishment for forgetting my tangible currency. The bouncer was extremely rude in response! I asked to speak with the manager; figured he may understand the concept and hopefully tell his bouncer not to treat potential paying customers in that manner. I waited for about 10 minutes with no communication. The manager never came, instead 3 Dayton police officers came and began to grab and put their hands on me and my female friend. I asked them politely not to do so, they responded "stop resisting." I stated I wasn't and notified them of my father being an attorney and myself being a current law student. They immediately removed their hands... My discontent does not rely on the treatment I received from the officers, but rather that the officers were called to begin with. I had every intent of speaking with the manager and was unaware of any confrontation that merited calling the police. I could argue I looked extremely threatening in my leather jacket and Christian louboutins... or I could be realistic: some people don't want to give proper service to a certain demographic and said demographic should refrain from pursuing service from those people... I am sad it took place in Dayton, but I view it as Ned Peppers flaw and not of the entire Oregon District. read more

Would not have been my first choice for a saturday night but our friends picked the place, was not surprised at how bad it was. Wasn't horribly packed when we first got there, but that changed pretty quickly. Tables were sticky and gross, had to get a rag from the bar to wipe them down myself, luckily we got there early enough to even get a table. We had to fight our way through the crowd at the bar to get a drink, there was no rhyme or reason to it, just chaos. Was ordering jack and cokes which came out in pretty small plastic cups, I assumed the price was reasonable (my fault for not asking!). Later my friend ordered two shot of jack and the bill for two shots was almost 15 bucks, that's insane! Needless to say we switched to bottled bud light. We didn't stay that long and only had a few drinks (two of us on the tab) and with a very small tip it was 42 dollars, completely ridiculous. This was my second time in here in probably a decade and most likely the last, just not my kind of scene. There are way too many other options in town. Plus one star for having a decent dance floor and a pretty cool patio out back with swings as seats, those are about the only redeeming qualities about this place. read more
