I told the doctor that I would like them to send me the lab order as I knew I would be out of town. My next appointment was for yesterday but they refused to see me because they never sent me the lab work to get done. In addition, even though they had scheduled the appointment they said they couldn't do it anyway because they have a strict 3 month waiting period. However I'm having major surgery on October 8th. Rachel was incredibly rude. She said we don't send patients lab orders. I said why didn't the doctor tell me that on July 8th? She said that patients are responsible for reminding them to do their jobs. Rachel interrupted me continuously during the conversation. I was polite the entire time, she was obviously incapable of the same level of courtesy. I regret ever coming here. When you go in their office you are usually the only one in their very large waiting room. And after reading some of the reviews I can see why. I am guessing they will be out of business soon as they have quite a few doctors in their office but I've never seen more than one other patient in the waiting room.

The nursing staff on the recovery floor were eager to help us learn how to take care of our first baby, as we are pretty much clueless! And, and many people noted to us, the food was very good. The only recommendation I would have is for some more proactive accommodations for the dads/support people who stay with the new mom and baby. Totally get that the mom and baby are the patients, but little things like having two towels in the bathroom instead of one, would go a long way in making their extended stay easier too.

Its a small waiting room that has a big screen TV for those who are waiting as drivers for those having procedures done and are not allowed to drive home. The receptionist is very pleasant, professional, and efficient. My wait time was very minimal for my pre-paperwork surgery prep. Once inside, a nurse greets you and demonstrates how to put on the proper surgical outfit; gown, hat, slippers. After escorting you to a sterile exam station, vitals are taken, and questions about making sure you are fully aware of the procedure as well as marking the correct limb. The surgeon arrives and goes over the game plan which provides confidence, and allows your feedback on the type of technique used, and what happens after each stage of the surgery. The anesthesiologist visits next to make sure you will receive the correct mixture depending on medical history, prior experiences, and their role during the procedure. After the procedure, another nurse preps for your questions as well as helps you regain your faculties before you are allowed to leave. This was one of the best surgical experiences I have been through. This is a 5 star review.

Dr. Whitcomb has cared for our girls for over twelve years. She is smart, attentive,…read morecompassionate, and works her tail off to advocate for her patients. She skips her lunch, stays late and sacrifices much in order to give her all to her patients. I have sent her a message after hours, or (not knowing) when she was on vacation and I always get a rapid response or a phone call. Dr. Whitcomb has always been very family-oriented and our girls' health care decisions have been decided by us--with her guidance. She will tell us the facts and answer any questions we have before any medical decisions are made. There is another review on here that mentioned Dr. Whitcomb's stance on vaccinations as being the reason the woman left the practice and found a new clinic. I have to comment that we vaccinate, fully, on schedule and even get the flu shot (gasp!). I have never, ever had Dr. Whitcomb say anything against vaccinations. She encourages dialogue and will give you her opinion with the research behind it and allow you, the parent, to make the choice as to what is best for your child. Having said that, she has always been on our side with getting vaccinations. Lastly, I'd like to say that I have been with Dr. Whitcomb as she has transitioned into a private practice pediatrician and it has been a pleasure being able to see her now in her element, running things like the boss she is. There's a peace in the office. We love everyone that works there. The front desk receptionists are always warm and friendly. The phone nurses are great and the practice nurses are the best. Michelle is a dream when it comes to blood draws--quick and one poke. I can't say it enough--we love Dr. Whitcomb and her team. Highly, highly recommended.

Furious upon finding out when I switched pediatricians that my 2 year old, who I believed to be covered and caught up with all vaccinations by Whitcomb's office, was actually left behind on one important shot and had had another incorrectly timed (so needed to be done again). Even though I was always very clearly pro-science and pro protecting my child from preventable disease... and always opted for all shots "on time". For those who haven't read my earlier review: I recently moved to a new pediatrician's office after discovering Whitcomb has an unfortunate reputation among Omaha's more eccentric and scarily "crunchy" set as THE pediatrician to go to if you want someone who will be very understanding/lenient about irresponsible decisions to either delay vaccination or not vaccinate. Irresponsible meaning more based on "I think Jenny McCarthy is smarter than a doctor or medical researcher" and not based in actual medical fact or family history of vaccine reaction.

I can only speak to my experience with Dr. Brownell, but she and her nursing assistant were very professional and helpful. Reception is where I think some improvements can be made. The staff ranged from curt to apathetic. I didn't really feel very welcome. The same was true when I called and spoke to someone on the phone. She just didn't sound like she enjoyed her job or wanted to help potential patients. The appointment reminders and paperwork ask you to come to your appointment 30 minutes early. When you get there they give you a handful of papers to sign, but even if you fill them out slowly it would take you maybe 10 minutes to do so. This gives you 20 minutes to sit in the waiting room. I get that they probably do this so that their doctors don't get behind, but then it really does make your wait extra long as a patient. Just not the best experience. My doctor's staff was slow in calling in my prescription at the pharmacy.
