The nursing staff on the recovery floor were eager to help us learn how to take care of our first baby, as we are pretty much clueless! And, and many people noted to us, the food was very good. The only recommendation I would have is for some more proactive accommodations for the dads/support people who stay with the new mom and baby. Totally get that the mom and baby are the patients, but little things like having two towels in the bathroom instead of one, would go a long way in making their extended stay easier too.

As first time parents it can be nerve wracking picking a pediatrician. After meeting with Dr…read moreBernard Douglas prior to baby being born, it was a no brainer that he was the perfect choice for us. He was able to get us in for a meet and greet within a week of me calling to schedule. He spent a lot of time (after business hours) answering our never ending list of questions. He was so polite and happy to assist us. He definitely put our minds at ease and we felt more confident in our decision making process as parents after leaving his office. He's open minded and educated on vaccines, he doesn't push them and respects what we want to do for our daughter, which is what we were searching for in a pediatrician. After our daughter was born he came to the hospital both mornings we were there. He's excellent at maintaining follow up and I know he truly cares for our little one. He even had the office schedule our follow up appointments for us, super helpful after having a baby! We love Dr. Douglas and we know we're in good hands.

The front desk staff and nurses were very friendly and my overall customer service was 5 stars. However, I followed all the directions prior to this appointment regarding not taking my antihistamines 7 days prior to coming in for my skin test. After my testing I was told that my SSRI was blocking the testing and we would need to do a blood test and follow up in 3 months. This was after telling my provider that I have constant daily allergies that make me uncomfortable on a daily basis. I felt dismissed when told to follow up in 3 months. I will be getting the blood drawn and having my records sent to another clinic. Update: this clinic is still trying to charge me $810.00 for an allergy test that was "blunted", produced no results, and wasn't even finished. I can't believe this company has gotten away with this. I should have been charged an office visit and breathing test. NOT a skin allergy test and I am now forced to retain legal counsel. I would 100% rather pay an attorney than pay this clinic for services I NEVER received. I cannot express enough how bad this place is!! I went to another clinic 2 weeks after my visit here and have been getting allergy shots once a week since November. Pick your allergy doctor carefully!

Updating. I am…read moreremoving an additional star. Furious upon finding out when I switched pediatricians that my 2 year old, who I believed to be covered and caught up with all vaccinations by Whitcomb's office, was actually left behind on one important shot and had had another incorrectly timed (so needed to be done again). Even though I was always very clearly pro-science and pro protecting my child from preventable disease... and always opted for all shots "on time". For those who haven't read my earlier review: I recently moved to a new pediatrician's office after discovering Whitcomb has an unfortunate reputation among Omaha's more eccentric and scarily "crunchy" set as THE pediatrician to go to if you want someone who will be very understanding/lenient about irresponsible decisions to either delay vaccination or not vaccinate. Irresponsible meaning more based on "I think Jenny McCarthy is smarter than a doctor or medical researcher" and not based in actual medical fact or family history of vaccine reaction.

I've seen reviews about the wait, and I have waited myself, but every single time my son is given the time and attention that gives me confidence that we are truly getting answers and that the staff care about him. Dr Whitcomb, her PA Monica, and all the nurses take time to truly listen and look at everything they need to. I've had doctors that rush us through to get to the next patient, and I know they heard maybe 60% of what I said for that reason. I appreciate the care we receive here. It's well worth the wait and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

I told the doctor that I would like them to send me the lab order as I knew I would be out of town. My next appointment was for yesterday but they refused to see me because they never sent me the lab work to get done. In addition, even though they had scheduled the appointment they said they couldn't do it anyway because they have a strict 3 month waiting period. However I'm having major surgery on October 8th. Rachel was incredibly rude. She said we don't send patients lab orders. I said why didn't the doctor tell me that on July 8th? She said that patients are responsible for reminding them to do their jobs. Rachel interrupted me continuously during the conversation. I was polite the entire time, she was obviously incapable of the same level of courtesy. I regret ever coming here. When you go in their office you are usually the only one in their very large waiting room. And after reading some of the reviews I can see why. I am guessing they will be out of business soon as they have quite a few doctors in their office but I've never seen more than one other patient in the waiting room.
