My experience in my first appointment at NCCRM was a high pressure sales environment that disregarded my medical concerns. In my very first meeting with the doctor to get initial information about what's involved with egg freezing and IVF, the doctor provided information about the process and procedures, and also kept repeating "you start on your birth control pills today and then have your class and ultrasound in two weeks." I raised concerns that I have a history of blood clots and have been advised by other doctors that I should never take hormonal birth control, so should really coordinate with my other doctors before starting a procedure that requires taking hormones across different stages of the process. However, she kept repeating that "you start on your birth control pills today and then have your class and ultrasound in two weeks." I continued bringing up that I should really check in with my hematologist before starting any birth control pills, finding it strange that the doctor was blowing right past this, and the NCCRM doctor continued repeating "you start on your birth control pills today and then have your class and ultrasound in two weeks." She eventually noted that I could just start taking old prescription medication that I had leftover from right after the last blood clot if I wanted to since "you start on your birth control pills today and then have your class and ultrasound in two weeks." I still hadn't given any indication that I was ready to start the process that day, but she continued repeating these instructions to me over and over, as though I already agreed to this plan that clearly violates directives from other doctors without being allowed to talk with them first. After getting initial info from the doctor about the schedule and sequence, with lots of repetition on "you start on your birth control pills today and then have your class and ultrasound in two weeks," then the finance person comes in. She also continues to repeat over and over the same directive that "you start on your birth control pills today and then have your class and ultrasound in two weeks." I additionally was informed by the finance person that I would not be allowed to talk to the doctor again until after I took birth control pills for two weeks and came back for my ultrasound and class. When I asked when each component of the $10000 would be due to the practice and the pharmacy, the finance person acted confused about why I would not just pay the $5000 to the practice today. I then went out to the front desk. The front desk staff, who were kind and reasonable, indicated that they don't even have any openings for this class in the next two weeks anyway and that the $5k is not paid until after the ultrasound. With further discussion with the front desk I scheduled to take the class without taking the birth control pills, and planned to get back to them about starting hormones after I coordinated with my other medical providers. When I went to take the class, the nurse instructor was kind and informative, and she actually went over the testing and birth control pill portion of the program, as though everybody is not required to take birth control pills for two weeks before being allowed to attend this class. The nurse was very nice, although when asked how many rounds of egg collection/IVF people usually have to go through she said that usually it just takes one round of egg collection to have a healthy baby. This is really not consistent with the data I have seen anywhere, where most information indicates that 3-6 rounds are often needed depending on age and other factors. My primary care doctor who referred me to NCCRM was horrified by the sales environment that encouraged proceeding with contraindicated medical procedures without being allowed to talk with my other doctors first. I would not trust NCCRM with my safety and well-being. read more

Worst experience ever. Waited for over 30 minutes for the doctor to come speak with me in a cold, barren, unused office space they put me in. I eventually had to open the door to remind them that I was even there. Dr. Toma wouldn't listen to my questions and just started listing options for things I didn't even ask for. He hadn't even read the notes from the nurse which explained exactly why I was there. Instead he just started giving me generic options for things that didn't apply to me. When I tried to tell him I wasn't interested in certain options, he over talked me and continued to explain all the ins and outs of what I already told him I didn't want. I can't even explain all the callous, inaccurate, ignorant things he said to me because there were so so so many. Long story short, I immediately went to the car and sobbed after that visit. I've never had a worst experience with a physician in my entire life. Would not recommend this guy to my worst enemy. read more

I called this clinic about IVF pricing and was told my insurance is accepted (except for IVF). I then decided to have them only do my monitoring for me because, due to cost and reputation, I chose to go somewhere out of state instead. When I called I was told yes they will do monitoring. Yes they take my insurance. I also called my insurance and although IVF is not covered, yes the monitoring (ultrasounds) would be covered. When the finance person Barbara found out I was only doing monitoring she said they will then code my treatment differently and I have to pay cash price for all of my monitoring because I'm not doing my IVF there. This isn't my first time doing a treatment(did it elsewhere) and I know how it works. My insurance even confirmed I was covered for all except IVF. I called another clinic-no problem of course we will use your insurance. I'll be going there and who knows maybe I'll even have them do my treatment. This is wrong-they are not in the best interest of the patient. People spend thousands and thousands on IVF, and knowing this, they have no problem doing this to someone. Makes me happy I'm not doing my IVF there. read more

I couldn't be happier with my procedure and the staff. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff. The office, exam rooms and surgical suite are top notch and clean. My anesthesiologist Mary was great and made me feel very calm despite having a surgical procedure. My pre/post op nurse was wonderful and very caring. The doctors where great and made me laugh a few times. Before I could have the surgery I worked closely with Amber who helped everything run smoothly since we were coming in from out of town. Amber was amazing!! We are currently 5 months pregnant with a little boy. read more

I am at a loss for words. I had a consult and discussed options. I was interested in the shared donor program -which was explained to me and on the website. I was told that I had to have a saline ultrasound first. I did not want the procedure because I knew that it would be painful, but I agreed in order to move forward with the program. After the procedure, which was every bit as bad as I expected I sat down with the financial planner. I even asked during the procedure if I could go ahead and pay so that the payment would fall on this tax year. The financial staff told me that the agency does not do the shared donor program. At first, I assumed she was just mistaken as I had been told about this program during my consultation AND reviewed it on the website. My family did a full cost analysis and decided that this was the route that we wished to go. She told me that I was wrong and it was not on the website or offered. I pulled out my phone and googled it and showed her. She then told me it was google and not their website, so I clicked the google link/summary and went to the website where is was clear as day. She then said that I probably needed to refresh my browser (clearly not relevant) and that it was not there, despite literally looking at it. I asked to speak to the Dr. again, as this was a program HE told me about in the consultation. She stepped out and returned telling me that he was busy. I asked her to have him call me. I have not received a return call. I feel violated and victimized. I walked in prepared to accept the unwanted procedure to move forward with a 10,800$ program except only after the procedure I was told the only program available was 18K as well I was gaslighted and told that what I was literally looking at (and showing them) did not exist. I do not recommend this place. They have the worst customer and patient service. They will rush you to schedule appointments and collect your payment, but when you have questions and have to speak with a nurse, nobody answers you or call you back. I am extraordinarily dissatisfied and disappointed. I can't believe people like this work with such vulnerable clients and don't give the empathetic service they need. I had my surgery on July 19th, 2022. Leading up to surgery I was every bit scared and anxious. My tubes have been tied for almost 10 years and I am 33 with 3 boys 13,12, and almost 10. On the day of surgery, I walked into the office on the 2nd floor and wrote my name on a check-in list. Shortly after I was called back for vitals, weight, and vaginal ultrasound. Dr. Easton came into the room and made me feel at ease with his super personality. He explained to me that he was going to look for fibroids, cysts, and whatever else shouldn't be located on my ovaries. If it helps to ease your mind reading this because we all know some doctors that don't care how they examine your toot-toot. Dr. Easton was gentle with me down "there." After the ultrasound, he said I was all clear and good to do surgery. I went into another room where I put on my gown, socks, and hair net. A lady came in with some consent paperwork for Me to fill out and gave me Tylenol and a nerve relaxer. After the paperwork was complete I met the anesthesiologist who asked a few questions about family history and history of any illness due to anesthesia. He took me into the OR and told me don't touch anything blue and green so I just looked at the floor to keep my mind off the surgery that I was completely scared of. He told me to lie down and spread my arm out so he can start the IV. I told him I felt the needle and I do not like the feeling so he tried to distract me with small talk about colleges because I'm a college student in South Carolina. I told him I felt the anesthesia and the light above me was a little groggy looking and after that, I was out. I did have a catheter in me and a tube down my throat to help with breathing and the anesthesia. The doctor said I had 8cm of the tube on each side left and that's good considering they need at least 5cm to perform a successful reversal. Today is the day after surgery and although I do feel some mild discomfort when getting up and down, I advise taking the pain meds. I hate taking any kind of medicine but with surgery, antibiotics and pain meds are my best friend. It does hurt to sit down on the toilet because of the creasing so I would stand and pee in a paper cup, flush the pee, and disregard the cup. ( I promise it helps!) On the first day when anesthesia was still in my system, I did not feel like getting up and walking because I was still a little dizzy and out of it, but I had to so blood clots wouldn't form. Now I am on my journey to getting pregnant again thanks to the NCCRM staff. read more

We went to Dr. Toma on 2/27/17 to have a tubal reversal. The only complaint I have is that we were told to be there at 6 am when we got there the doors were locked and the lights were off. We waited outside in our car till the nurse finally called me and asked where I was like I was the one that was late. The surgery was a success and I got pregnant in July 2017. We now have a beautiful 1 week old daughter. We owe it all to Dr. Toma. My tubes were tied for 13 years before my surgery. Update: I have since had another baby. I had a pretty good experience with NCCRM. They were very aggressive with getting things on track with my IVF process. The nurse that I worked with was understanding and helpful. We live about 4 hours away so it was tough for us to come up for visits so often. That was frustrating when all they needed was blood work. The only negative thing that happened was after my egg retrieval. They seriously carted me out of the operating room and I was in so much pain. I was not warned about how much pain I would be in and I could not even lay down. My OBGYN at home saw me and wanted me to be evaluated by Dr. Toma so my husband and I drove 4 hours to Cary to see him. He said there was nothing wrong with me. I couldn't even sit or lie down because of the pain. We drove back home and found out that my ovaries were hyper stimulated and I was admitted into our local hospital. I missed a week of work. However, I was able to go on with the fertilization of my eggs and have the embryos (2) transferred. They both took in the beginning but only one survived and now we have our precious baby boy. read more

Allow me to first start off by saying that I loved everything about NCCRM! my husband and I traveled a total of 8 hours round trip from Charleston SC to Cary every other day and honestly I wouldn't change a thing. It's been such a long time coming and after 20 years together I'm finally holding my baby in my arms typing this review. When we first met Dr. Toma he told us that we will be pregnant, we had faith and we believed just that. He literally went above and beyond on the very first day that we met him, I had polyps and he removed them that same day. He could've told me to have them removed and then we could proceed from that point, but he didn't. He explained the entire IVF process in full detail, step by step. Now lets talk about the staff at NCCRM, they are all AMAZING!!! from the ladies at the front desk to the embryologist; and everyone else in between. Carla and Folita are the best! it's like everyone there are family and they welcomed my husband and I with open arms. During the process we had lots of questions, Carla always answered with a smile and never made us feel like it was a problem. If anything she encouraged us to ask as many questions as we needed to. I could go on and on about how much of a God sent everyone has been to us. Dr. Hoffman is a liar and a cheat. He will tell you anything to get you to sign up for IVF. He tried to sign me up for thousands of dollars of unnecessary IVF without running the proper testing. I have lived for the past month thinking that I would never be able to have children on my own. I then went for a second opinion at Carolina Conceptions, had the correct test done (an HSG must be done to tell if there is tubal blockage, NOT an SIS like Dr. Hoffman will try to convince you) and found out I am perfectly fine to conceive without IVF. BEFORE going through the arduous and painful process of IVF, make sure you have all of the proper testing done. read more

I went to have my tubes tied for 10 years then went to doctor Toma and got a reversal and they were so sweet and surgery went good I had no problems. Surgery was 1/25/2021 and I found out I was pregnant 3/21/2021 so quick now I am currently 6 weeks and 3 days . I am so excited to have my little baby. Thanks NCCRM. After seeing the other review posted here, I felt I had to leave a positive review to balance it out. I had an amazing experience at NCCRM! Dr. Toma was extremely knowledgable, up front about expectations and success rates, and he always answered all of my questions with patience and honesty. I always knew where I stood at NCCRM as the nurses were very clear as to what to expect, what stage I was on, and what the next steps would be. Everyone from the receptionists to the nurses were great to work with, very uplifting and great with communication. I never felt rushed at all during my year of treatment there and no one was ever once rude to me. I always found the facilities to be clean and well maintained, so I'm just baffled about the negative review posted here. I began consultations and treatment in the Fall of 2010, became pregnant in the Fall of 2011, and gave birth to my sweet healthy baby boy in June of 2012. I realize the other reviewer has been to this facility more recently than I have, but I have been back to visit the nurses and didn't see any great change in the quality of the facilities. I was extremely happy with my experience at NCCRM and was grateful to both the nurses and the doctors for their quality care throughout my treatments. read more

I didn't get passed a phone call conversation. But I am glad that I had that conversation because it's what motivated me to keep looking. It was like pulling teeth just for some basic information. I think a manager needs to step in and monitor the phone calls. The lady I spoke to was so unfriendly and outright uncaring that I just wanted to cry when the phone call ended. read more

I came to his office and his secretary blew me off for over 30 mins before acknowledging me. She was on a call chatting about personal issues. The Dr. was late by over an hr and a half, but apologized when he got there (as he was doing emergency surgery). he quickly found issues previous Dr. missed. I saw him next morning for surgery. The staff was quick to book me for essure reversal surgery & take my $, then right after surgery Dr. told me I would take my procedure notes, photos, and records with me right after. Then I was told by staff they were too busy so they would email them so I would get them by the time I got home. After surgery for weeks I had uncontrollable severe pain and bleeding, and called asking for the Dr. I was told by staff he was "done" with me. I called & called and emailed yet nothing. 4 weeks later I was told to talk to someone in records that never responded so as to get my documentation. Surgery was a fail & now seeking help with another Dr (although I can't fault Toma as I have not seen my records). I have continued to try to reach the Dr, but his staff never lets you talk to him nor do they call you back. Rarely do you even get a live person on the line, usually an automated system where you leave a message hoping for a call back. I think the Dr. has no clue about how his staff really is with patients. I paid about 8k which was supposed to be all inclusive then I got a bill for labs. I had done all labs before coming there so nothing was holding us up for next day surgery. Dr. Toma knows his stuff, but his staff make it impossible to get the care you need. The staff took payment then after my surgery dismissed me & my concerns and needs. I will update if and when I ever hear back from them & get my notes, photos, and file. read more

Just got back from our consultation for embryo adoption with Dr. Toma. I'm so glad we didn't spend anymore time and money with this place! We've been to other Fertility drs before and this experience was by far the worst. We are from Charleston SC and when I called to discuss embryo adoption the nurse told me that they used to have a long waiting list but now they just match people as they come. After our 4+ hour drive, Dr. Toma tells us that they give priority to those who have no children or those that are older and who don't have eggs. (Never mind the fact that we just got done telling him that we were doing this because my eggs are likely very poor quality and the reason we only got 1 embryo from our IVF cycle). So basically, because we have a kid we would have to wait for years to do this. He then tries to sell us on donor IVF. During part of this he even tells us their online database that he tells me to look on isn't kept up to date. So how am I supposed to use it then doc? His whole attitude was condescending and arrogant. We couldn't leave fast enough! Maybe it's a different atmosphere in NC because it seems like insurance comes into play a lot more than in SC, but we've never had an experience like this before in our infertility journey. We felt lured here after being given false information and wasted an entire day that my husband had to take off work, money on gas and a babysitter. read more

I had my surgery done by Dr Toma he was amazing the staff was great. They made sure that I was comfortable and understood everything. They answered all silly and major questions we had. Please do not waste your time and money here. Yes, the nurse/receptionist staff are very friendly and NCCRM is has the best priced procedures, etc but it is still not worth it. We sought out Dr. Toma to begin or battle with infertility with high hopes. It's not the fact that we are not pregnant that we are disapointed; it's with how Dr. Toma is seemingly the least caring, least personable, arrogant Dr. I have ever met. I'm sure he is smart but honestly, it's like he has everyone do the same protocol without even taking the time to listen or understand individual concerns. I had 3 months of consecutive IUI's (artificial insemination) and no time was ever taken in between each one to talk about what worked, what didn't, and what we can try differently the next time. One time I asked my nurse (who was very nice) if I could send Dr. Toma an email with some of my question's and concerns before starting the process for my 3rd month of an IUI attempt. It was expressed that Dr. Toma doesn't do email or phone and that I really need to schedule an appt to talk to him. And of course they didn't have availability for the $165.00 appointment anyway before the start of my next cycle... While I was with NCCRM I obviously had nothing to compare my experience to so I really had no idea if how we were feeling was normal or not. I did switch to UNC fertility and after meeting with our doctor for the first time (who spent an hour and a half with us) I left crying tears of joy because I finally felt like someone cared about my husband and I and the baby we want so badly. read more

I had my reversal 06/01/18. The staff was very friendly and Dr. Toma was very nice and upfront about the process and expectations. Where do I begin? Well, my experience with NCCRM began in approx Jan 2014, and paid for my reversal upfront with some of my tax return. I was sch 3/31 consult and ultrasound, then surgery 4/1/14. I had an emergency last min, had to cancel but was allowed to resch after paying $750 resch fee. Well, my emergency ended up taking until Nov 2013 to work thru legalities, having back surgery, and saving up the $750 a little at a time. So I am lucky they held my money and didnt just keep it, after canceling last min (no way to get around it). Anyways, we finally got resch and was sch 1/8 cons/ultrasound and surg the following morn. We are from the Nashville TN, so we drove and it took abt 9 1/2 to 10 hrs of just driving time, and time difference. We hauled butt b/c we left early abt midnight on the 8th. I got to my appt at 4 and they said theyd been calling for a week to tell me I was resch next day. She had been using my old ph #, but they still had my husb #. Never tried to call. I had talked to their surg sch a few times same week, so she had my #. I gave her my # so I guess they dont update their records? Yet still, it wasnt that big of a prob, as our hotel was practically in the same parking lot. So we had family time and let the kids swim etc. I was told to come back at 915 in the morn, and of course nothing to eat or drink after mn.So we came back as instructed. We waited abt an hour and 15 mins to see the nurse, who I am hoping she was just knew to the job b/c she acted as if she didnt know her job. Finally, Dr Toma came in to see me. Right away I could tell he was arrogant. B/c we were from out of town we didnt have anyone to keep the kids. He didnt like that.I even told them in an email that I had to bring them and they said no problem. So he spoke with us abt 10 mins and he said there was 1 case ahead of me. During my ultrasound, he was not gentle at all, didnt tell me what he was doing, and b/c it was an internal ultrasound it kind of hurt b/c he was going so fast. They sent back to the waiting rm to wait for pre op. After waiting another 30-45 mins the receptionist took me back to the OR waiting rm. We waited abt 15-20 more mins and then the pre op nurse called me. After vitals etc, she sent everyone out. The receptionist told my husb since we had kids with us he could leave with them so they wouldnt get any more restless. (She said they'd call when I was done). So as my husband was getting ready to leave, he asked the nurse if she would be the 1 to call him. She said no that he needs to go fill my scripts and come back, that they dont do that. Anyways, after abt ANOTHER hour of waiting alone in pre op, the CRNA came over to talk to me. He was pretty nice. I explained I have a history of panicking right before surgery, so he gave me Versed in my IV. He then said they all thought I was going to be a problem patient, but I ended up being the best that day. Why did they think I was going to be a prob pt? Because I cancelled at the last min previously for something beyond my control? Or b/c I was upset that it was almost 1 pm and hadnt had anything to eat or drink since abt 7 the previous night and was starving, had a headache, getting weak by that point? I never complained abt the wait they just could tell I was upset. Who WOULDNT be?! So after I was ready to go, we waited for Dr Toma to come and talk to us. By this time it was after 5 and they close at 5, so most everyone was gone. Dr Toma was putting his coat and said theyre was 6 in 1 tube 7 on the other. We got on the elevator and he made the comment to his nurse that he wants to make a policy of no kids under 12 there. She gestured to him to be quiet bc we could hear him. He ran out of the elevator before us and already had pulled his what looked to be abt an $80,000 Mercedes- no ecomonical C class Mercedes here. The nurse said shed call later in the evening which she didnt. Everywhere I looked there was food and I was starving. I didnt like the nurses eating in front of me after I told them I had gone so long without food. They ended up doing 2 reversals before me, which was only supp to be 1, so they screwed me after being there at 9 am and not leaving til after 5. I dont think the 1 in front of me had been there anywhere as long as I had been. I really felt as they thought I was a burden to them. They got my $ and they didnt want anymore to do with me. Dr Toma said nobody in the nation does more reversal than him and he actually said "Nobody does it better than me". Hes conceited and arrogant and has too large of a pt load. People constantly go and out, so me having anxiety attacks it was bothering me with all the ppl in there. I havent been to any other fertility clinic, so I cant make an honest review as saying dont go here, go somewhere else first. That would not be fair. I can only state the facts that I experienced. Bad experience. I've been to three different fertility clinics and this was the worst. The atmosphere of the place feels like you are in an urgent care clinic. It's cold and as if you are there to get in and out quickly. Then the worst part was the doctor . We are sitting there very anxious and he couldn't remember our names. He called me the wrong name - which is never appropriate in any setting, just saying. His personal cel phone was sitting on his desk. The ring tone was so loud, but it didn't annoy us as much as him answering the phone! Then he talked in some foreign language to the person. So rude. Then he would start again with whatever he was saying and ask the same questions again. He felt like he knew what the problem was and suggested we have a saline ultrasound. This was in a tiny room where they had to move the patient table to actually shut the door and my husband could only stand behind the bed at the head because there was no room. Once he decided his hunch was wrong he insisted artificial insemination was necessary and due to timing in my cycle I would need to return in 2 days for it. I felt like I was being pressured to make a quick decision about something very important. There was no talking about it or education about my decision. Just a take it or leave it look. Since that time I have found an excellent doctor and realized that is not the best practice for artificial insemination to begin with. There are ways to maximize your chances instead of rushing into a procedure because he saw I had follicles. He didn't read my information or listen when I explained I ovulate every month. This what not the miracle answer. Even if they could find the answer or best treatment they were unprofessional and seemed to have little concern for my particular case. I was just another patient. They have so many advertisements all over the radio and television that I somehow misconstrued that to mean they were better or more preferred to a smaller, lesser know clinic. Makes me wish I'd have researched more sites like this first. It was such a bad experience I distrusted all fertility clinics as hustlers. I waited for over two years before trying to find another doctor or clinic. read more

I read and researched for quite a while before deciding this was the place for me. My career is working with people and has been for 16 years, giving me high expectations of the service I should receive. My surgery was June 26, 2013 with Dr. Mulvaney. I had the Tubal Reversal procedure. The entire experience has been exceptional. Each time I visited or called the office everyone was very professional,polite,prompt and pleasant. My expectations were met, even being a skeptic because of reading the reviews I searched. They had good ones and bad. I'm glad I chose them, they took great care of me. I have no complaints at all about any of the staff. I didn't have to wait any longer than I would and any other Dr's office, they were awesome, everything was clean and I felt comfortable. If I had questions or concerns I could call, If I needed to leave a message I got a call back before the end of the day. I feel comfortable calling Dr. Mulvaney with any questions or concerns, asking him for anything I need and also taking as long as I need in my office visits with him. He was down to earth, patient, and very understanding of my unique situation. He remembered me and specific details about me no matter how long I went between appointments with him and he is a delight. I will always recommend NCCRM because of the wonderful service I received. It has been a blessing to finally get my procedure and start the next chapter. I hope my review will help someone with their decision. I am a mother of four, working full time , and in school. On March 12th I had my pre-opt appointment with Dr.Toma he went over my records with me and we discussed my Essure reversal. There was a slight problem with the amount I was charge due to the fact that one of the ladies I was working with back in October throught I had the essure place on one side and had a tubal ligation on the other side. I explained I had the essure placed on both sides and when one side failed I went ahead and had a tubal ligation. So we came to an agreement about what was done and was able to move forward. March 13th I had my surgery around 9:30am and was in surgery about 3 in half hours I must say my nurse Debbie was amazing from the time I walked in til the time she wheeled me out to my husband car. Also Amber was amazing as well she is such a sweetheart minus the fact my husband called her about 10 times before my surgery date just to try and set up my appointment but other than that today is Friday and amber has checked on me twice since being back home. This facility was great from beginning to my "graduation". I had difficulty getting pregnant due to fibroids. Dr Toma removed my fibroids and stated that I should move onto IVF. I did IVF and after everything, I was pregnant with TWINS! So, exciting and I was followed all the way to 11 weeks of pregnancy and have moved onto my OB! Way to go NCCRM! read more

I want to start with writing that these are my personal opinions and based on what I felt my needs were and my expectations were, I could only give NCCRM & Dr. Toma and his staff a one. When I first called for an apt. I had been trying for over a year with my husband. I was told to fill out paperwork online which was very extensive, which makes sense, but then required to fill out paperwork when I arrived. And not just signature paperwork, some of the same paperwork I had already filled out online. Working in HR I understand the desire to go paperless in order to eliminate extra work for your staff but not wanting to go paperless entirely but having to do it twice and then needing to fill out paperwork for each appointment seemed a little much. Especially since I noticed that Dr. Toma does not even read the paperwork he makes you fill out on every appointment. On my first appt. I waited 45 minutes to be seen. I am one who believes that if my appointment is at 9am, I would like to be seen around that time instead of waiting until almost 10. Then after explaining my history and situation I was told to schedule an apt after my period but not much more information. Once that time came, I contacted the office, it became difficult to find an apt shortly after but in the end it worked out. When I arrived to my apt. I had to wait again but this time only 30 minutes and filled out more paperwork. I was told this apt was going to be for a saline ultrasound. Now, when I hear ultrasound, never experiencing this stuff, I actually have no idea what he is talking about. I was not told what to expect, how to prepare, what to do. I had told my husband he didn't need to come because it was just an ultrasound and lab reading. Boy was I wrong. The saline ultrasound was super painful. I walked in the room and I saw way more equipment than I thought so I asked him if it would hurt. He actually didn't answer me. His nurse kind of squinted and said it would a little. I however, was not aware of the procedure so I didn't prepare myself and the pain was just horrible. I understand I will go through way more pain in labor but at least I know about it. Dr. Toma was not very soft, he was rough, he pushed into those ovaries or whatever but it hurt like crazy and then to top it off .. I got pain going up my chest and my right arm. I later read that some people do get these side effects of gas going up and causing this. I am not sure if its true but I felt so badly after I could barely drive home. I actually got lost because I just had no idea where I was going with the shock and pain I was feeling. Then after the saline ultrasound I was put in a room where the doctor was supposed to read my labs to me. He had no labs. I called a few days prior to find out if they received them and they said yes but yet he had only one lab result, he ordered many and yet didn't have them for the apt. I would think he would have known or had his staff verify the labs prior to me taking the time to go to see him about them. I had to explain the labs to him since my primary read them to me as a courtesy. Fine. He then told me that he would send in a nurse to explain my next steps. A nurse comes in, super nice, Carla. I had her explain the process to me about 10 times because it was a lot to remember. I was told to call her on the first day of my period. So on the first day, I called her. I told her that it looked kind of strange but since my periods are always different I went ahead and started on the first part of the process. I then called her on the second day and left another message. She called me at 6pmthe second day, that night, while I was at my step sons soccer game. On the third day I called her again and still no answer, left another message. On each call I explained that I was concerned about the period. I was left to go to my primary. We completed a pregnancy test. It came up positive. I was taking clomid which can cause miscarriage. I was two weeks pregnant. I lost the baby. Due to the medication? I don't know. All I know is that Dr. Toma is not gentile, he is very aggressive and lacks the ability to keep you well informed (but if you can't you asked your nurses to be). Carla is not responsive and clearly must be overwhelmed if she is unable to call someone back in a timely manner (I even sounded upset, concerned so I would assume that would get someone's attention). This clearly is not the way I would like this process to go since having to go through this process is stressful enough. The only good side that I can see with this clinic is that they did do a really good job at making this less expensive by appropriately filing through my insurance. So the downside is that I am sure I will have to pay more to go somewhere else but most definitely worth it for better assistance, information and over all less stress around the situation. read more

Definitely not state of the art, old equipment, recovery room nurse treats you like cattle, she gets you out of there if your ready or not. She does not treat the patient but rather gives them just the allotted time they are suppose to get, she is extremely rude and dangerous...I am a recovery room nurse and past ICU and surgery nurse....this woman just sends you home regardless as to what is going on and has no common sense, she didnt even have the Dr speak to my husband and there were complications with the surgery. I developed an infection less than 48 hr post surgery. The Dr may be highly trained and an expert but his facility his OR suite, and recovery area is old and outdated nothing like the updated and clean office area. Scarey place to have surgery......wish I saw the surgery area before I paid my money......wish I would have backed out of surgery when I had those doubts after being back there and seeing the lack of "state of the art" and the lack of staff......the nurse was given instructions to a CRNA on how to prepare the solutions for surgery because she had too many patients in the recovery area and didnt have time to properly mix the solution herself.......who knows if it was even mixed properly. The woman next to me was discharged within 45 minutes of coming out of the OR and she received general anesthesia.....the normal and safe time is about 2 hours.....as a recovery room nurse in the hospital we don't even discharge patients who had just sedation and not anesthesia that fast......very unsafe......very dangerous....very DIRTY read more

I would recommend NCCRM to anyone for fertility. Fertility is definitely one of the hardest things that a couple can go through and Dr. Toma will do everything possible to get you pregnant! We went to NCCRM because my first clinic made decisions based on your chances of getting pregnant and we did not have a say in the decision. When we saw Dr. Toma he immediately said I will give you all of the facts and % and then it is up to you as a couple to decide what you would like to do. What I like about him is that he did all of our testing quickly and was very direct about our options which we both really appreciated. I have read some that say he is not friendly and that is just not the case. We wasted a lot of time at our first clinic and my clock was ticking, so I did not have time for someone to just tell me what I wanted to hear. I had 6 fibroids removed by him and the last clinic did not even tell me I had a fibroid the size of an eggplant! One might want to know that! After healing we did IVF and are now pregnant!!!!!
