My experiences with the Goodyear Police Department have been extremely disappointing, but this most…read morerecent situation has significantly changed my confidence in the department and its commitment to serving and protecting the community. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. On a previous occasion, I contacted Goodyear PD after an injunction against harassment was violated, and I felt that no meaningful action was taken. In another incident, I was threatened at a Walmart while my children were present by an individual who had a firearm. Again, I contacted Goodyear PD and was extremely disappointed with the response and lack of action. Most recently, I was assaulted by four individuals at a Wells Fargo Bank. There was video footage of the incident, including evidence showing another individual putting their hands on me, yet once again, I feel that the situation was not handled appropriately and no meaningful action was taken. What has made this experience even more frustrating is the lack of communication and follow-up. I attempted to contact Officer Kane, who was involved with the case, to request an update and ask questions. I also reached out to his sergeant. I have left voicemails and communicated with other staff members in an effort to receive a response. It has now been approximately three weeks, and I have yet to receive a return call. As a member of this community and as a victim seeking assistance, I should not have to repeatedly call and leave messages simply to receive basic communication regarding my case. When residents contact law enforcement--especially regarding harassment, threats involving a weapon, or physical assault--they should be able to trust that their concerns will be taken seriously, properly investigated, and followed up on. At this point, my repeated experiences have caused me to lose a significant amount of confidence in the Goodyear Police Department. I believe there needs to be greater accountability, improved communication with victims, and additional training to ensure officers are properly responding to and investigating serious incidents. Law enforcement carries an enormous responsibility to the community. When that responsibility is not fulfilled, there should be accountability and a process for addressing those failures. Residents should be able to rely on their police department when they need protection and assistance, and unfortunately, my experiences have left me feeling that calling Goodyear PD for help is ineffective.

I would say it's the carrier, but it's happened consistently from a Verizon phone, AT&T phone and a TMobile phone! Clearly not the phones nor the carrier, it's the city and the state! Mark went above and beyond to help get the situation resolved. He followed up with the carrier and supervisor, stayed on top of the issue, and didn't stop until my package was located and returned to me. What impressed me most was how seriously he took the situation and how determined he was to make sure it was corrected. It would have been very easy to simply tell me the package showed as delivered and leave it at that, but Mark took the extra time and effort to actually find out what happened and get it back to me. I am incredibly appreciative of his persistence, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile. Employees like Mark are what excellent customer service is all about. Thank you, Mark!

They were insanely disorganized, and unless you've seen the news stories about this you may think I'm exaggerating. We had a FOUR hour line of cars to get to the supposedly VIP parking. Yes, it was literally over four hours. We missed most of the day. They had ONE (1) person checking tickets to let cars in. Let me say that again, ONE person to let cars in. Ridiculous. Inside, security was a mess, nobody knew which carts or what we should take to our again supposed VIP spot inside.

My elaboration: Yesterday 6/30 the library hosted an event for the Great American Puppet Theatre. We arrived early to the event to get a seat. When we arrived to the 11:30 showing it was a huge line. We went to the front desk to ask how we participate and they told us the show is full and we couldn't partake. SUPER bumbed that we didn't even have a chance. The woman at the front was rude and had no sympathy, she just starred at us. This is the second time we've tried to attend an event and couldn't. The room was small and the reason we were turned away was because of fire code. This event should've been a pre-registration to avoid people driving and then being turned away. Also, there was so many adults that could've stepped out to give more children an opportunity to join. I was NOT the only parent & child that was turned away.
