Elevator to check-in. Next to Dunkin' Donuts. The agent was right outside the door with his clipboard and took me 12 minutes early. He verified my info and asked for my passport. He asked me two questions and said my fingerprints from my pre-check qualify so I didn't need to take those. Took my picture. It was a 3 minute appt from start to finish. I imagine if you dint have pre-check it will be a bit longer. I parked on level 9 (but I'd park on 5 next time) and pulled a ticket upon entering. I was in my car again in probably 7 minutes, start to finish. My only gripe is the cost for parking. I asked the agent if they validated parking because I was only there 3 minutes. He said no, but if I hurried, it might be free. I had high hopes. I was back to the ticket exit area within 10 minutes but my paper card was rejected! I tried 4 different machines and had to back my car up each time. Super annoying and I still paid $6 for being there a total of 15 minutes when I finally had to find a ticket agent to help me and she declared my ticket was defunct. It took me longer to get help for my ticket than it did for the entire "interview" for global entry. Now I'm curious if anyone else can get in and out in under 10 minutes and still have to pay the $6. I was hoping to have an answer to that question but the ticket ruined me.

Get your fingerprints. That's it. office opens at 7AM. They were nice. It was an easy experience.

Knowing our kids could eat a decent breakfast and lunch during the summer was a big stress relief. All I can say about these free programs is that they're run, like everything, by money and numbers. If these programs aren't being used, funding and the programs will go away. So, if you and your family are able to, I'd consider using the program. Just saying!

If I'm ever looking for something unique and off the beaten path, I immediately visit the Melrose District. Full of vintage clothing stores, antique stores, boutiques and restaurants, it's a great way to shop and eat the way through a lazy weekend day. When traveling through the Melrose District, I find the best antiques (reasonably priced too!), great vintage clothing if I'm in need of a costume or classic piece, boutiques where I find great gifts for friends and family (shh, that's my secret!) and I can stop and grab a bite either at a neighborhood grocery store or restaurant along the way. I've noticed several stores that I haven't had the chance to visit yet (like the 'wash your own pet' store) so as soon as the weather becomes nice again, I'll be making it a day on Melrose! The Melrose District does a great job of preserving Arizona history. With the gorgeous homes off the main strip, you can easily park your car and take a stroll up and down the streets. But beware, if you blink you might drive through the Melrose District without even realizing you drove through! It's an area that looks misleading to the common eye, but once you really look, you realize that you are surrounded by gems of the city. In addition to the daily services, when the weather's nice, the businesses on Melrose participate in a street festival where visitors can walk up and down the district and browse the shops. I'm counting down the days until the next one! So when you have some down time on your hands, take a drive to 7th and explore the district you've been missing all along!

Another year of jury duty at the Superior Court in wonderful PHX Arizona and honestly I was shocked…read moreby how nice we juror's had it compared to serving in Downtown Los Angeles where the room is cold concrete and dark with nothing to see or do but stare at the wall. The accommodations were really nice without going into too much detail. But if you get summoned bring a tablet or laptop there's food near by so even after being there all day I was honestly content being there.

I'm not familiar with the area but in getting in after the security check/metal detectors, you simply go left where all the other people are sitting (like they were waiting for their flights to depart) because it looks exactly like an airport. Once you enter the room, you'll have to sign in on their portable computer thingy, ah kiosk is what I was looking for, with your Jury ID # and last name. There will be people/workers to help you in the process. The rest is just the waiting game. I was here 15 mins before 9am and then didn't announce anything till 30mins after. You will be shown a video of what to expect and where everything is (cafe, restroom) which I totally forgot where those two are. And then one of them will call you by a number 1-60 and by your last name and first initial of first name, then you will head to the back of the room where an assistant will hand you a paper with your number and QR code which you'll scan to fill out the questionaire. If you don't have a tablet they will provide you one. If you don't remember the number, like I totally did, then say your last name because it should match with it. Then you wait some more. Was told that by 1:30pm that they will decide whether some of us go to the courtroom while the other goes home, based on what you said on the questionaire. There are no wrong or right answers but def they were some questions repeated a couple times just worded differently The people here are super nice and helpful and if you're like me with anxiety of going to unfamiliar places, don't be afraid to ask :) Why 4 stars? Because I don't want to be here. Lol but the place is clean and spacious. Uber was $64 plus tip all the way from QC to Downtown Phx. And in going back- Uber was $70. Love it. Sarcastically speaking.
