Pretty good place to stay on base. This will be our 5th time staying at. Navy Lodge. SanDiego is my fav but this is a nice place as well. The rooms have about as much as you would need. My daughter had to get her dress blues all ironed and thankfully they had an iron & board in the room. We didn't use the fridge but it's large. Beds are comfy as well. 5 stars because I rate on what they are trying to be, not what a "5 star" hotel in the industry is supposed to be. ( gotta have a phone in the bathroom to make 5 stars!) Pros: ON THE BEACH, cheap, clean, better breakfast than extended stay America or similar, beds are comfy, mini kitchen is nice and the fridge isn't noisy, air conditioning works well, patio or balcony on all rooms, pets allowed The beach! You can not see from your room but there is a private staircase down to the beach. It's a bay so no big waves but there are tables, lots of clean sand and not many people. Cons: you must have your sponsor with you at check in. So if yours is in class, for example, when you arrive that's a problem. After check in, go to the visitors center and get a guest pass. This took us about 30 min on Memorial Day. We made lodging reservations for this weekend at this Navy Lodge, because they offer very affordable accommodations and rates.  They have plenty of parking and they can accommodate small and large vehicles. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with wifi and cable TV. First time at this location visiting our sailor at NAS. Did not realize it is actually on base and you must get visitor checked in to get in, which you do not need your son or daughter to be there, just their name on the application at the gate. The location was about the same distance from the gate as the barracks and easy to find. You will need your VA disability card and visitor approval to get back on base, from the Lodge, each time to pick them up, at least until 5 p.m. The place was adequate and the staff were courteous. The computers were down when we arrived and throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, but the air conditioner had a hard time working, especially in the very high humidity. We did have a couple palmetto bugs in our room eventually, but this is Florida. Worth the rates. read more

What a joy! Not only, as a retiree, to be among our military "family," but to be at the lovely and accommodating Pensacola Navy Lodge! Even navigating to the Lodge (which is *right* by the fabulous Air Museum!) was easy-peasy. This was our first night of a long-planned 6-week drive across our country, so we had plenty of luggage to be brought to our 3rd floor room. Imagine our happy surprise to go into such an accommodating room! Clean (and no carpet made rolling the jam-packed luggage cart a breeze), with a small and fully stocked kitchenette area, and plenty of room. We found the BX (and its multiple buildings!) And filled up with gas before heading out again. We hope to return for a longer stay to enjoy the beach and picnic tables near the beach. read more

As far as Military accommodations go this one was adequate. Like staying at a circa 1950s la Quinta. Our room had a kitchenette so that was convenient. I left $5 on the counter and the maid left a note saying that doing that meant I was leaving a tip. (Oops- I didn't know that. Also I didn't realize it was there) but the maid didn't take it so that was cool. There wasn't a dining room so breakfast was in a little bag you could carry away & eat outside on the picnic tables or take back to your room. It consisted of yogurt. Fruit. Very La Quinta. At this point you're probably wondering what makes this a five star experience. That private beach. The lighthouse. The navy pilots. Yessssssss those pilots. Mmmmm . LoL read more

I checked in at night & discovered hair all over my bathroom and refrigerator. When I went down the next morning to ask if they could clean it, the front desk attendanta and I had a discussion for five minutes on why they would not be able to get somebody in immediately to clean it. I requested by the end of the day. They agreed reluctantly, to tell housekeeping. Two days later, my room was finally cleaned, but the hair in the refrigerator was not removed. The rooms may look nice, but look out for hair in the refrigerator, all over the shower, and all of your towels. Also, look out for the front desk not actually doing anything, but checking their cell phones. Gross! read more

I would highly recommend making reservations elsewhere. Not only is the majority of the hotel under construction which is much needed I may add but they didn't care to mention that when I booked a 9 week stay (over 5K!!!!). My kitchenettes ceiling is covered in mold I've attached pictures. I reported it to the front desk but they didn't care she literally didn't even acknowledge me when I said my kitchen it is covered in black mold she just looked at me. The front desk staff is very rude all but one of them, the rest need some serious training in customer service. The walls are extremely thin here as are the ceilings, I've had the pleasure of having someone above me that has hooves and stomps all day long and all night despite being asked to quiet down. The walls are so thin that you can hear people on the phone next to you as well as baby screaming all night. Now it's an excellent thing that they are dog/cat friendly however it's not excellent when you have to hear people's dogs barking or cats meowing for hours. Their laundry mat is disgusting they seriously need to get new washers and dryer's and keep them clean because that room is gross. The only positive that I would say is there housekeeping staff was very courteous and attentive. They deserve a raise! Parking sucks a good portion of it is blocked off for the construction crew, which is very rude and unprofessional. Wouldn't you love to wake up with no warning to a jackhammer at 7 AM every day during the week that goes on for eight hours a day right outside my door as the stairs are there and they're resurfacing them. Their continental breakfast barely includes fresh fruit, and needs some revamping. Oh yeah and while writing this I got to listen to the screaming teenagers running up and down the walkway and in their rooms and on the balcony. Wonderful. We're definitely fans of the Navy Lodges. They are usually convenient to the base, the rooms are clean, prices reasonable and they have a good continental breakfast. This one is huge. We had two double beds, hot plate, microwave and refrigerator. We had absolutely no complaints plus the beach was right out our patio. What more could we ask for. read more

Navy Lodges are varied as far as what you will get when you stay. I will say that this one is in need of some updating. It was not completely horrible but the decor of the interior of the rooms is showing its age along with wear and tear. This is a shame because the lodge is on a beautiful location on the beaches of NAS Pensacola. At a cost of $60 a night it is understandable that to keep rates this low for what you get there is no way this hotel will have all the modern amenities of large chains. Still for the price I paid it was not a complete disappointment. My room was clean and on the hot and humid Pensacola days the air conditioner was kicking out some much needed air. The balcony offered a semi view of the beach but it was very relaxing as it overlooked a tree covered walkway area leading to the beaches. The area is very quiet and there is a complimentary breakfast offered in the morning along with a manager's social on Wednesdays. So for the price I paid I feel it was a good deal. If you are looking for the same amenities you find in some Marriott or Hilton hotels then prepared to be let down but even at those you deal with some less than stellar accommodations. Staying here has been an absolutely WONDERFUL experience. A lot of previous reviews are folks that have stayed here for a few days or so, and I think some are really unfair in their assessment of the place. First of all, we're here long term. About 6 weeks to be exact. We've been here 3 weeks so far and have experienced staying in both the big family suite and a smaller two bedroom room. LOCATION It is in some PRIME real estate. Literally right on the beach, in a super quiet area of base... but it's quick to get anywhere and everywhere on and off base that you could possibly need while staying in a hotel... it really couldn't be in a better spot. ROOMS As stated, we've experienced two of their room types so far in our stay here. We started in the family suite and it was perfect for our family of 5 plus a cat. You walk in and are immediately greeted by a beautiful, modernly updated full kitchen. Beyond the kitchen is a spacious living area with tv and pull out sofa that lead to a beautiful balcony overlooking a lush green area outside with hammocks. The best part? The suite is basically two full rooms. Near the balcony is a door that leads to the bedroom area - holy guacamole, it's a huge room. There is a queen size bed and a bunk bed with two twins (the queen and bunk are separated with a small wall for privacy). There is also another tv and second balcony off the sleeping space. Keep going and you'll find a lovely vanity area with sink that is in the room and separate from the bathroom. The bathroom is great and the Lodge supplies some lovely little sample size shampoos, conditioners and bar soaps. Like I said, we have a family of 5, so this room was really perfect. My husband and I obviously took the queen bed, our older kids took the bunk and there was plenty of space for our baby to occupy his pack and play without it feeling cramped. We are currently in a smaller single two queen room and it is pretty cramped for two adults, 3 kids and a pet... however, if you're staying here on PCS orders, it's still comfy and I can't complain that we have a nice roof over our heads. The room does feature a (smaller) full kitchen, but you can tell these rooms are not quite their prized possessions. It's a bit more worn down, but still very nice here. For the price (like $80 or so a night?!), it's PERFECT for a weekend getaway stay. FACILITIES This hotel is very clean. I can't believe how many complaints there are about bugs, dirt, cleanliness, etc. Nothing in either room we've stayed in has felt dirty or made us uncomfortable. We saw literally ZERO bugs in our first room... my husband said he woke up one night and there was a roach in the bathroom of our second room... but come on, let's be real. It's Florida, people. There are bugs, it is moist. That is NOT the hotel's fault. LAUNDRY One of our biggest worries about staying in a hotel for 6 weeks is where the heck we'd get our laundry done. Thankfully, the Lodge has a very clean, well maintained laundry room on site! It's $1 per wash, $0.75 per dry, and the machines are usually never busy so I'm always able to get my clothes right in! BREAKFAST It's delish. I mean, I've had bigger hotel breakfasts, but for the price of our stay, it's still really yummy. Waffles, bagels, muffins, fruit, oatmeal, coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, yogurt, cereal... it's more than enough and always tastes fresh. PET POLICY There really is no comparable hotel nearby that is as affordable and understanding about pets staying. Most hotels off base either have astronomical fees for animals, don't allow animals at all, or can not accommodate a family of 5 plus a pet in their small rooms. We only have to pay about $125 for our cat to stay here the whole time with us! Just amazing. STAFF The staff is AMAZING. Being here for this long, I feel blessed to be dealing with really sweet people who have gotten to know my family and have always been so quick to answer any questions we have. Shout outs to Caitlyn (omg, she is SUCH a sweetheart and so helpful), Nick (also extremely friendly and helpful), and Norma! Rockstar front desk team. Those three are always the ones who are up front when I've been there, so there may be other great staff members but I haven't had a chance to work with them yet. Housekeeping staff is also great and work hard as heck to help me pick up after my three monsters... I mean, children! OVERALL We love it here. It really is the most ideal place for us to have stayed while we're waiting for our house on base to be available, and I'd recommend it over and over again a million times. My niece was getting married in Navarre Beach, so my mom got us a room here for the weekend since my dad is a retired Officer and this was a cheaper alternative to the resort hotels. We absolutely loved it and are talking about making another visit next summer. The rooms were very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. They had a pack 'n play for my baby to sleep in at no charge. The breakfast was good, although I would have like more protein items and more hot options. They have their own beach access. The Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum, National Naval Aviation Museum, and Fort Barrancas are all within walking distance. I can't wait to go back! read more

The only good part about this place is the beach front. Aside from that the outside is filthy (nothing a rented pressure washer couldn't fix, but that takes effort) the beds are old and firm. The bedding is old a tattered. The employees smoke in front of the building. Considering for the same amount you could stay at the purple parrot resort on Perdido Key this place is a rip off. read more

Can't say it's the Four Seasons but this hotel takes care of all I need & more. It's nothing incredible as far as looks go but at $65 a night, no tax, for a clean hotel room with a good staff, a microwave, mini fridge & breakfast, I can't complain. This was my first stay at any Navy Lodge. The housekeepers kept our room very clean. No complaints with anything as far as cleanliness goes. We had a full closet with ironing board & iron. Every morning we got breakfast downstairs, they have cereal, coffee, water, hardboiled eggs, muffins, bagels, waffles & fruit sometimes. All included in the price of the stay. A/c in the room was always nice to walk into after being outside. The beach is down the steps & a short walk. There are trails nearby as well as museums. Plus you're convenient to gas & the NEX, etc. Staff was really great, pleasant & happy to help. Wifi is good, too! My husband & I appreciate the Navy Lodge & will be back! read more

I was prepared to be pretty forgiving as I know this place is dated. But it is right by the ocean and so I thought my week of working in the area would be like a kitschy resortish stay. Weeeeellll... The room just felt less than clean and this was before I noticed the dead roach on the floor. Not hidden away. I went off to work thinking surely housekeeping would catch it. I don't know how they could miss it. Suffice it to say the large dead roach has not moved either under its own power or otherwise, and housekeeping is kind of an overstatement here. I leave my room pretty pristine as a rule but I still usually notice the bed is made up a bit tighter and perhaps there will be some general straightening and I assume vacuuming and wiping down of surfaces. I believe housekeeping here consists of replacing coffee supplies and emptying trash. Leaving the bug was downright disgusting. Overall the lodge just looks rundown, plain and dirty, like an old barracks or cheap motel. I won't stay again. read more

After driving over 10 hours we arrived here at the Navy Lodge. As soon as I start to check in the woman at the front desk was so unpleasant, every question I had or something regarding our pets was met with a condescending answer. After we got our keys for the room we were not pleased with the room. It has almost a rubber tile like flooring (I'm assuming it's for the pet friendly rooms) and smelled like it was just heavily cleaned. We noticed behind one of the beds there was trash from whoever stayed prior and there was dog hair on both of our beds, which has me convinced they didn't wash the covers/sheets. Overall the room was dingy/dirty and the front desk woman was just plain rude. The one decent thing I'll say about this place is the rooms are a decent size and they have an almost full kitchen if you have to stay a while (which hopefully you don't) read more

My stay was from 24FEB-9MAR19: This is the worse Navy Lodge I've ever stayed at. It started the day I checked in with the urine smell, then the itching all over. I bought everything possible to cover smell, then the maintenance man bought up an odor cover spray ( they been using to mask odor in rooms). He sprayed the room carpet, and left the spray for me to keep spraying it. I had cleaners to change bedding after day four. Nothing, was combating the smell or the itch. Day five I called down to front desk, before I could get anything out my mouth the attendant said we are at capacity, so I said I hope someone is checking out cause I have to change my room, because I been trying everything for almost a week now! The attendant said well you can try back tomorrow, with a rude attitude! I stayed away from my room in this hotel for two days my body stop itching, well I came back Sunday the itching is back. I call the front desk again. I asked do you all have a room that pets have not stayed, because at this time I realize that my itching is that which I have when I'm around pets. I get hives around pets or pet environments. The rude attendant tells me every Navy Lodge is pet friendly, and that there are no rooms that pets have not stayed in. I don't mind pet friendly hotels what I do mind if you don't have set rooms for pets, for people like me that have pet allergies. This is the only hotel that's getting paid for by the government, because I'm here on business for two weeks. If I change hotels I have to pay for it out my pocket. Therefore it should be a room I can stay in, in this Navy Lodge that pets have NOT stayed in! So day number seven I'm still in this pet friendly room, waiting to talk to the manager Monday morning, because the rude attendant say there's no room for me to move to. I may have to get a Nonavail, because I don't know if I'm going to be able to do this another six days. read more

My family loves staying here. We usually come down a few times a year and always stay here. It's $80 a night you can not beat the price. It is older and does need some updating but again it is $80 a night. If you are wanting a 5 star hotel this is not for you... Most of the staff is friendly. The manager (Carla) was very sweet and made sure to make my stay even better by introducing me to other guests at a recent Manager's Reception. I drove from 15 hrs straight from the cold in Illinois to my eagerly awaiting sandy beach front hotel room at the Navy Lodge on Radford Blvd in Pensacola, Florida only to be very disappointed and move out to the Hampton Inn and Suites. EVERYONE on the base from Main gate security to maintenance men at the lodge are professional, polite and go out of the way to be of assistance...can't say enough about that. The lodge employees and Supervisor (Ms. Walker and crew) were tops in every way! My room was 2 queen beds, microwave and refrigerator with a balcony! When I made the reservation I requested a room with a great view and indeed we had that! A beautiful, clear view of the bay & the beach for miles out! Absolutely amazing evidence of one of God's great works! Unfortunately I guess I should have requested a nice, clean room to go along with that request! LOL! In short, the rooms are dated (understandingly it's an older facility). The room smelled. I purchased deodorizes & flowers in the effort to mask it & soften up the room. Later I realized that there was a very strong odor of urine around the toilet...it was also the carpet that was much warned & appeared dirty (we could/would not walk bared feet on it, it looked so bad). I was later joined by my mother and daughter and everyone was a little uncomfortable plus my daughter had bites on her arms so we relocated to a difference hotel after 2 days. This was my first unpleasant military lodging experience however; I have no plan to give up on the military lodging locations. The price is great and generally the rooms are also. If you're the type of person that wants to stay at a pet friendly hotel and then flips out that a dog barks when it isn't even quiet hours, DON'T STAY HERE. I was there for 4 months and never had complaints about my dogs barking. Two days before we are about to leave, I get a call threatening that security will have to take care of my dogs barking if we didn't come back (which what does that even mean? Will they be removed?) We had only been gone 10 minutes and had dinner reservations. We also BARELY LEFT the whole 4 months we were there. I just don't appreciate how rude the staff was about that situation. On the other hand, the maids were wonderful and so nice. Janice in particular was the most pet friendly person there giving my dogs treats almost every day. read more

Family stayed here during training 1st visit at NAS Pensacola and it was ok but still a hotel. When had to return to Pensacola stayed at a manufactured home community with a pool and fishing pier, it was pet friendly and very clean. They offer temporary furnished lodging with all utilities, wifi etc. Bayou Grande Villas Everyone has their own yard and we were 5 minutes from NAS and Corry. There were a couple of homes for rent and we stayed at this one and highly recommend it. Was 3 bedrooms 2 baths and accommodated the family and pup very comfortably. Great hotel tucked away on the base and super close to the beach. We stayed here for a couple of weeks but had to leave because they were getting a bunch of newbie marines in this coming week so I guess they needed our room (despite the fact that we needed to be staying there an additional two weeks for my husbands schooling). The cleaning ladies come around every day but if you need something specific you'll have to leave them a note or something because they may/may not restock coffee/sugar/soap etc. I love that it was just a few steps from the beach and that it had a playground as we have a toddler who NEEDED that playground. The lobby was under construction and they had breakfast to go every day which was great. 3 stars because they were supposed to be letting us stay the entire month when in reality they only kept us until today. I'm not even sure if it's based on rank who gets to stay or not, but if it was, we would've still been there. My husband was there on orders (and his family was also on his orders) for school and they could've accommodated us longer. I want to start off first by saying that this particular hotel has such a beautiful atmosphere and the beach is practically in its backyard. The maids are very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were pretty nice. Now I'm going to get to the reasons I didn't give this hotel a higher rating. The first being that we had to switch room keys every single day because they would stop working and yes we ALWAYS made sure to keep them away from electronics and any kind of magnet that might deactivate them. It was definitely the door that wasn't working properly and after telling the front desk many many times that we were having issues, they finally decided to send someone up to fix it. Again this was after 2 weeks of having issues with the door (we stayed here for a month) and it didn't make it any easier when you have a handful of groceries and a toddler with you and you get to the door only to find it's not opening so you have to go down to get a new key, hauling everything with you. We were on the 3rd floor and the elevator is extremely slow, so we were usually forced to take the stairs. The second reason I cannot rate this any higher is the fact that the maintenance guy awkwardly infiltrated his way into our room only after knocking once and not even giving me time to answer the door. It was strange because the first time he barged in was to ''fix'' the toilet when it was working fine to begin with. The second time was a little more strange. He said he was coming in to check the bed frames and it sounded like he made up a reason just to come into our room. He seriously lifted up the bedskirt and was like ''oh it's okay.'' Not really a thorough check of a bed frame if you ask me. Idk but it just creeped me out and kinda pissed me off considering both times he came to our room, it woke up our son from his nap. It would've been nice if the front desk could've contacted us and gave us a heads up because we did not ask for any assistance besides the whole door incident. Overall we would stay here again, but we would make sure to be on the main floor and be sure to stop the maintenance intrusion right away. read more
