I've been blessed to enjoy the perks of military service pretty much my whole life. First as a Navy daughter and now as a Navy wife. One perk is the opportunity to shop at the Navy Exchange tax free! We were really just here today killing time before a dr appt at the hospital, but I came across perfume I've been meaning to buy but just didn't have a chance to yet. I noticed here it was about $10 less than at Sephora not to mention the savings from not having to add tax to it. Score! I'm not a big perfume wearer but I like this one and who could pass up that savings? I may keep it or my mom may just be the owner of a new bottle of perfume. Lol If you have access, definitely recommend checking this place out before shopping out in town! The savings may be worth the drive to your local base/NEX. read more

We bought a refrigerator at NEX Jax. The price was very competitive with local vendors and no sales tax We were out of town for the delivery so our neighbor was in the house waiting. We paid for delivery and disposal. They brought the fridge in the front door and left it in the foyer when it wouldn't fit through the hall door. They didn't take away the old fridge for the same reason. When I got home I dollied the new fridge through the garage into the kitchen. That door was bigger and I pulled the door pins for the extra inch I needed. I'm still waiting for the refund for the cash I paid to have the old fridge removed. So glad to make the trip to these shipping establishment which has been updated and expanded significantly with more floor space and product! I like the new store layout and accommodations they have made for COVID precautions. Compared to NS Mayport's Navy Exchange, I was able to find a much broader selection of the two man I was seeking: Seiko Divers watches and Longboards!! Also unexpectedly benefited with additional discounts with their scratch off discount card (5-30%) offered at their customer service desk - you just have to ask for a card and the discount is applied to your tax-free purchase! read more

The Navy Exchange has completed a good part of their renovations...thank goodness! It was hard to maneuver there for a bit. Now I hope they do something about the parking...read on. We normally shop at the exchange once a month on average in combination with the commissary. They do have a tendency to be higher priced on some items, but for the most part they are cheaper on most. They will price match when you do find something higher priced, but if you're like me...you don't like to mess with it and will just buy it at the other place. But on "scratch off" days...look out! We always take advantage of it!!! We like shopping at the Exchange because of the customer service...seriously! I know not everyone has the same experience, but here's mine/ours. We are always approached by someone to ask if we are finding everything or need help finding something. Better yet, there is always "someone" around...you don't have to look far for an employee. Even if they can't help you, they will find someone that can or make a call to get someone for you...that's pretty awesome. The biggest thing is check-out. It doesn't take much for them to open another cashier line to get people out of there with little wait time. Plus, the express line will take you with a full cart/basket if there isn't anyone waiting...awesome! I always appreciate them carrying hard to find items in the health and beauty department. Plus, they carry the cat food we buy that is normally only found at a pet store. The areas of improvement I would suggest is children's sneakers. I realize they aren't a shoe store and are limited. But certain sizes for tweens are non-existent. If I only had one complaint about this place (and it's probably totally out of their control)...it's the parking! They need a parking garage. There are not only the people stationed here (which is a huge populous), but there are a ton of retirees. They share a parking lot with the commissary and across the parking lot they are building a new commissary. Parking is at a premium for all any time of the day, week, month or year. I hope they consider making the old commissary a parking garage and not just a parking lot. It really is needed. The parking alone makes shopping at the Exchange difficult and frustrating. read more

As a retired AF, I love the opportunity to be able to shop at all the exchanges...great prices, quality and tax free. I shop alot online and enjoy the free deliveries. The main thing that always upsets me is when you order an item on sale and the order comes back after a few days and states it is out of stock - but you can buy it at the regular price?????? HOW CAN IT BE OUT OF STOCK? So I email the NEX with this same information and they return an email with the item is out of stock. Sent another email requesting more information on how can it be out of stock if you can buy at regular price. ZERO RESPONSE. HONOR - RESPECT - HONESTY - DUTY --- THE NEX HAS NONE OF THESE QUALITIES. read more

The NEX facility itself is nice but the checkout line is consistently glacial. Management should prioritize training.

Buying furniture here is a headache. Even though they have a display room at Mayport, you can only pick up at NAS. In addition, cost of delivery is $100 for every 5 pieces rather than furniture set, and $10 for each additional 5pcs. So if you buy a dining set with 6 chairs you need to pay 110 for delivery. In addition, if you return there is a 15% restocking fee so you have to be absolutely sure you love it. Also, when buying shoes the sales person had a bad attitude! When I put the shoes back on the shelf rather than leaving on the floor or chairs like most of the people had done, she gave me such attitude! read more

Ah the Navy exchange. Here the prices are overall pretty good but it is not the cheapest you can find it even without having to pay tax. Everything from their Black Friday sale to their normal every day prices cannot compete with outside stores. I think the one thing I do buy here are drinks but otherwise I can always find a better deal when it comes to technology or merchandise with a quick Google search. It is a great one stop shop as it does carry everything from clothes to technology to military items to beverages. The uniform and tailor shop is pretty reliable. Turn around at the tailor shop can reach a few weeks so make sure to ask for a rush order if you need it quick. Never had an issue this far with the tailor shop as far as how things looked. All in all this is a great catch all store. You may walk out with a good deal but it won't be the best deal so immediately compare online before making a big purchase. read more

I am a fan. They do offer a variety of merchandise, LOTS of shoes, a large electronics section, and a lot of local merchandize (local sports teams, Florida cups/apparel, etc.). There are some high end items, like purses, sunglasses, and jewelry, and everyday things. Tax Free and generally lower prices than outside. You should always shop around if you are looking for high priced items though, and that includes here. For black friday they offered a Bose bluetooth speaker for $15 less than you can get out in town (or on Amazon) AND it was tax free... #BOOM. They also had Keurigs on sale for rock bottom prices with tax free savings that weekend. All in all I'm pleased with the exchange - I realize that's not always the case with everyone. read more

Great store. The food court is not one I recommend going to but the store itself is great for shopping. There's always a great sale In The home department and kids. I'm not sure if this is connected with the outdoor bed. But that store is a 1 stars and that's bc they actually have stuff to purchase there. Their "claim to fame" is better than the outside competition and Tax Free savings. Don't be fooled this is not always true 75% of the time. A lot of times the prices are inflated. This happened to me twice over the past year. I bought a TV at Best Buy for $750 including tax. The same exact TV was $800 at the NEX but was tax free. Your always told to bring in the add or the receipt of your purchase. So they can give match their price which is understandable but also more work after you already bought the product off base. One other instance was a DVD player $29 with tax off base again at Best Buy and $59 for the same one at the NEX. It wasn't til just recently I caught on to them selling alcohol and beer at one price and charging $1 more at the register. So just be mindful and do your research before you make a purchase. read more

Not the biggest exchange I've been to but this one has come a long way with remodels and renovations. Love some of the prices but they aren't always the cheapest in price. The location have 4 places inside the exchange to eat. We did try the new American Filipino restaurant that had great pancet and lumpia. read more

I'm over them. Every time I order something from them it turns out to be a problem. I'd rather pay taxes than deal with their poor customer service. I ordered a Mac and it took them 5 days to call me and say that they can't ship it because I used my husbands military star card on my account. Maybe they should word that on their website. They told me I'd have to reorder it and wait another 5 days for it to ship. No thanks assholes I'll use a better company like Amazon and get it in 2 days. I have shopped here for many years and for the past year this NEX has truly gone downhill. The prices are not good and the service is horrible. There was a long line to check out in the back of the store and this lady name Yang opened a register she acted like she was doing everyone a favor by checking us out....not to mention her very unprofessional attire! The prices here used to be great for members of the DOD but that is not the case any longer. I inquired about AirPods and they had an open box special for $189 u can buy these at Apple for $159. They guy told me they are the newest ones...well so are the ones on Apple for $159. I will not shop in this store again because of the level of service! read more

Always something to see and the no tax on everything is not bad either. They are reorganizing things so it is a little chaotic now, but I am sure by the time they finish it will be nicer and more shopper friendly. They have a good food court and the price on liquor is unbeatable. read more
