Creative and extremely well presented dishes - I can highly recommend the pork belly, which comes with an Asian bbq sauce. Overall, don't expect your typical neighbourhood Asian restaurant, it's really a fusion restaurant offering British and international dishes with a Korean twist. The menu isn't big - which I like - I'm always a bit suspicious when small places maintain a huge menu with 30 mains, as this is nearly impossible to do if you care about freshness and quality.. Definitely worth checking out!

I ordered their fried chicken burger with stir fried kimchi for sides. The burger was awesome. This is not like any standard burger, it is fusion food therefore the food looks different too. The burger had crispy fried chicken and also fried egg Ruth runny yolk. I absolutely love runny egg... it was bliss. Please note that it's very difficult to eat without making your hands really messy. The sauce and the tomatoes in the burger with the runny egg start oozing out and it is extremely hard to look civilised while eating it. But the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Would definitely go here again.

Been here numerous times and always a great experience. Is a good local restaurant with an asian…read morefusion menu. They have a bar in front if you want to get drinks beforehand. They also have some tables in the bar area where you can also order appetizers. The restaurant has a mix of tables and booths and a private dining room downstairs if you want to throw an intimate dinner party (have been to one before downstairs). Innovative list of cocktails as well. It can be either an expensive or fairly reasonably priced evening depending on what you get. Some recommendations: *The veggie pad-thai- Is really flavorsome and comes with crushed peanuts & chillis. (also a reasonable price). *Roast pumpkin & spinach gyoza- Interesting take on gyoza- love the flavours! *Egg fried rice- Fresh egg and is not greasy *Xo sorbets trio- A great ending to the meal with an assortment of sorbet fruit flavours Stay Away From: * The chilli crusted tofu- Is incredibly dry. This is really unfortunate as could be a great dish but have ordered it on two different occasions and have been let down twice. They need to add some sort of sauce to this to make it more palatable. *Pomegranate spring-rolls: This sounded good but it was served cold and was soggy. Flavours also did not mix. Service is really attentive & friendly. Can get busy on Friday nights & weekends so always good to book on opentable beforehand. Would recommend!

I went to a private party here and when I…read morewalked in the door they took my coat and walked me to a tray of champagne and cocktails and offered me a tantalizing adult beverage immediately! After rounds of canapes served on trays (Note to self: eating sushimi must be done in one bite or you end up wearing some of it) we retired from the bar area to the restaurant in the back. Appetisers of wonton dumplings, tempura, and assorted sushi combinations seemed to keep coming and still we were served a lovely Asian salad, and still more rounds of large pieces of fish which we shared among 6 at our table. Since the hostess had selected the menu, I didn't ask what was being served, and to my discredit, I didn't read the small printed menu of the evening at the table (great conversation and copious amounts of cocktails). However, there was a type of white fish that had a sort of caramelization that was to die for! The ambience, food and service were superb! The only thing keeping my rating from going all the way to Woohoo is that it was my first time there and not the typical restaurant experience (reso/my order). I'll go back and give them another go, though! The area is also lovely!

First impressions…read more.... A very trendy looking restaurant New Well furnished and best of all Cheap..... The food is far from mind blowing...and the innovation stops at the view... But tooMai is worth a visit, the street food feel of the place is very cool, you'll have a fun time but maybe not a yum time.....Although my Berry Mojito was very cool and quite tasty. Drink up.

I like the dark deco and the feel of the place, but that's about it. The waiting staff were all smiling when we came in until later they noticed that my friend were handicapped. The whole attitude changed from then on. We were the last one to get served. Had to wait for a very long long time for everything even though the restaurant were not packed. I even noticed that the waiting staff were talking about us amongst themselves which I find quite rude. When we left, they were all turning their back and not saying goodbye. The food were average, but expensive. We had Thai calamari, spring rolls and prawn crackers as a starter. My friend had Pad Thai, which he said were ok, and I ordered fried noodle with prawn but got noodle with chicken instead. And it was really spicy. Overall, not a good experience and definitely won't be coming back again.

I had the noodles with beef for the main. It was truly something special. Served with flavourful brown sauce, roasted nuts, fresh herbs and greens with and bean sprouts. We weren't informed of out of stocks until we ordered, I definitely think it's a fair expectation to know of shortages before we read the menu. In the end, we shared fried squid, Viet spring rolls, betal leaf-wrapped beef and summer rolls. The squid was very good, the spring rolls were bland, the beef was not served with the garnishes I've experienced in other restaurants (vermilcelli, mixed herbs, leaves and crushed nuts) but tasted ok. The summer rolls were as boring as they always are and all portions were small. Mains, we tried the shakin' beef, prawn and tofu curries, BBQ pork special, caramel pork belly and the pancake. The curries were clearly the same base with the prawns or tofu added for serving and nothing exciting at all. The BBQ pork was very dry and hadn't had enough marination time. The pancake was good large portion, stuffed with spring onions, onions, prawns and pork with lettuce and herbs in the side with a good dip on the side. We ordered Vietnamese iced coffees to finish and they took forever to come. Overall, service was friendly and well-meant but on the slow side and not all the food was at an acceptable level. Overall, I would say it's a mixed bag but if you order squid then pancake, you will do just fine!!

I told them I got a confirmation number and to process a refund because I had to leave. My card was in fact charged and I called to speak to the manager. He told me it would be processed. 2 months, 3 additional phone calls where I my number was taken and I was told I would be called back (I wasn't) and 2 emails asking for a refund and still nothing. I've never worked so hard to get £13.90 back. I've checked other reviews and had I received the food, by the looks of it I wouldn't be impressed. I also called them twice and on the first occasion the person who answered was rude. On the second the man said that they'd had problems with the online ordering service and the orders had come in late. Then he said he'd picked up the order 20 minutes after I'd placed it. Meaning it still took an hour and a half. Rubbish service. When the food arrived it was bland and lukewarm. I ordered the pad thai and prawn wontons and both were very underwhelming. That'll teach me for not ordering from Chompoo. Never again.
