Our guide was great, she kept a close eye on everyone even provided some extra care for a handicap person In our group. Unless you have a very large party you will be with others keep that in mind when they ask you to get there early others will be waiting for you, plan your trip in advance to be considerate of others in your party! If you wear sunscreen bring it it's pretty sunny and I recommend a hat, water, and sunglasses. We had a good day and would recommend. The glass bottom kayak has the potential to be cool if the opportunity to see stuff arises but they may be a little more difficult than the regular kayaks and in most places it's very shallow so there isn't much going on to view. It's kind of a bucket list thing, I don't think it's more than a one time thing for us but it was worth the afternoon to have done it. I'm not gonna lie I like boats with motors.

The kayak was easy to steer, though my husband and I are both tall and it felt a bit cramped after about an hour -- not a deal breaker at all. The light attached to the kayak was a great touch and helped illuminate the fish we were spotting. We even stopped to feed the catfish and got an up-close view, which was really fun. Although the water was cold and Nolan mentioned some fish weren't out, we still saw plenty and thoroughly enjoyed the calm ride through Sarasota Bay with beautiful views of the city skyline. We went on a day that was busy…read moreand had a few sketchy moments of weather, but were never alerted to the fact that we would get 1/2 the flights we paid for--yup flights lasted only 6 minutes each, and that was on top of them having kept us waiting 45+ minutes for the boat to return late (& to even take a leisurely 30 minute lunch break) while we sat on the beach waiting. Top it off with a crew that smokes, one member gearing you up who smelled of alcohol and would lie down on the seats while the boat was moving, and it was not an event we would repeat. It should be noted we contacted the business to give them a chance to make this right. "Mike" pointed to weather and declined to do anything. Mike failed to note we waited 45+ minutes for a delayed trip, they turned the boat around while we were geared up to pick up 2 last minute participants, and that the next boat was to be filled with 6. Weather wasn't the key issue in this day--they were just busy and trying to make up time at the expense of our family. I wish we could mention great customer service or accommodations made for issues suffered. That just didn't happen for us. Meanwhile, we were well mannered and even tipped the Crew. But we will not return of course.

Wow! What an experience! We took a 9am tour to Shell Key on Cap'n Dalton's boat. There were only…read moresix passengers on board, which meant there was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the sunshine. Dalton provided expert commentary about the area, even pointing out a few celebrity homes and yachts along the way. It was a gorgeous ride over to Shell Key, and we even saw a few dolphins along the way. Once on the island, we had about 45-50 minutes to explore the beaches and do a little snorkeling and shell-hunting. The island is aptly named, with rows and piles of shells along its white, sandy beaches. The water was warm and perfect for swimming. Soon enough we were back on board and heading back to the harbor. And that's when the magic happened: dolphins! Following along in our wake, and no doubt attracted to the enthusiastic squeals of one of our dolphin-loving fellow passengers, the dolphins put on quite a show. Even Dalton, who I assume sees a LOT of dolphins, was impressed by how long they followed in our wake and performed jumps and flips for us. It was truly one of the most remarkable experiences of my life! Thank you Dalton and Island Ferry for an amazing and memorable tour and one of the true highlights of our vacation!
