I foolishly bought an fat tire e-bike off the internet. The front tire would inflate properly and the tube would bulge out of the tire. I have never been to Lenny's store before, but he was recommended by a friend. I took in my tire and Dave explained to me what was wrong and fixed it within a few minutes. He then told me what to do if I have issues again. Meanwhile, I looked around and found some amazing beach attire for a good price. When I checked out, there was no charge for the fix. These guys understand the value of service and I gain new friends. Promise me when I say that you will not be disappointed by going to Lenny's. You might find something's there in Amazon, but buying local has a much better value in the long term. read more

I do not see the word Bike in the shop name, but that is what we go here for. We purchased a bike for my husband last fall and I found this place. Excellent customer service. A good selection of higher end cruisers and bikes (SUPs and skateboards too but we were not in the market for that and they rent bikes as well). I was in the market for a bike and so we went back. They are incredibly patient with us and offered many options within our price range on each occasion. If you need a bike or a tune up, give them a try. $100 cleaning fee if you ride on the beach on one of their rental bikes. Was told by them it's a $500 fine to ride on the beach, but St. Pete beach says nothing about that on the city website. read more

I had brought my own bike from Ft lauderdale for xmas weekend in St Petersburg. Unfortunately, I had forgotten the hardware that goes through front tire to attach to frame. I went to Lenny's shop on the off chance they would have that particular item for my particular bike. Lenny himself came outside as bike was in SUV with front tire detached. He did not think he had that piece, but took the time to go back in shop and look around until he found hardware that would hold my front tire in place. I signed my husband up for paddle boarding/ surfing lessons through Lenny's as a bday present for him and this past weekend we headed over to St. Pete so he could fulfill his destiny as a 45-year-old daredevil. ;0) Lenny was cool enough to call us ahead of time and let us know that the conditions were too flat for the regular surfing lessons and asked if we could reschedule those, which means another awesome trip to the coast so I was happy. Conditions were still perfect for paddle boarding so we met up with one of the instructors at the shop in the morning and followed him over to the bay for the lesson. Once there, they were really nice and even let me and some friends stay to watch the lesson and take photos. They were pretty relaxed about the whole thing and he had a great time and an awesome memory. I only wish Lenny's had a better website with more info about classes because I want to recommend them to my friends. I bought a new fin for my paddleboard at Lenny's shop. What I ordered on line through the shop didn't turn out to be exactly what I needed. Lenny traded me for a fin that was in stock that matched perfectly, and even adjusted it to fit my board slot....didn't charge me an extra dime....awesome. In addition, and unlike other surf shops on St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island, you can find Lenny ACTUALLY SURFING when the surf is up, and Lenny posts surf reports as well. I rented a bike from them for my whole stay, which was perfect for getting around in St Pete Beach. Rented a bike from here today. Went 5 miles on bike ride and front break was stuck and I could hardly ride the bike. Called Lenny's to let them know we would need them to come get the bike. They refused and told us to pretty much figure it out. Called a taxi service with a Van to come get us and the bikes. Paid 25 dollars in cab fee to get back. The owner pretty much didn't give a shit. The customer service like thing to do would be to give us our money back along with cab fare. If I could give a 0 star I would. Never will I trust this company again! read more

Came to St Pete for vacation and decided to rent bikes from them. They were one of the best flat rates I could find. 30$ for a really nice bike to ride around the island was really nice. I'm new to the beach and Lenny's is a 2 minute ride from my place. I needed a simple brake pivot bolt so it wasn't a difficult transaction. But what makes the place so cool are the people. They have some well-experienced people in there and sell tons of other stuff like surf boards and SUPboards. Nice people, close to the beach, well-stoked with stuff... go, you'll like. OH, they rent cruisers, too. The GF's kids were in and we needed bikes. They let us have them for two days at a one day rate because we came in at midday. Not saying you'll get the same deal, but they care about their customers, at least from our perspective. read more

we have a couple of older bikes we keep at the beach for visits 2-3 times/year. Seems like there's always some little adjustment or flat to fix and these guys always get us fixed up and on the road quickly and at a VERY fair price. Lots of businesses have had a tough time lately at the beach - stop by and give them a look and a little business if you need anything at all in the way of bikes or surf. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! I would give this place ZERO stars if it would allow me to! My girlfriend and I stopped in here, after seeing a bicycle that we recently put a down payment on at Jim's Bicycle Shop, to see if maybe we could get the same or possibly a better deal on it since it was right down the road from our house, eventhough we have both been told not to shop here because of the service. (We should've listened.) As we went in the owner asked what he could help us with we told him we were planning on buying this same bike at another place and before I could get out another word he simply said "GOODBYE!" and turned his back to us. In amazement I said "excuse me?" He then told us to leave and go buy it there and that he didn't want our business. I have never had someone be so rude and conduct such poor business in my entire life! This kind of ignorance and lack of common decency could possibly be why I myself never see or hear of anyone purchasing a bicycle or anything else for that matter from this place. I'm looking for a bicycle for myself and have others close to me that are also looking to purchase bikes in the near future. Needless to say I will not be buying anything from here. I will now be sending Jim from Jim's Bicycle Shop the extra business now that I have received the worst service possible from Lenny's Surf Shop. I now feel bad for even thinking about buying it elsewhere because of the fantastic service we received from Jim's. I guess sometimes we take good service and kind people for granted. So do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money shopping in this poor establishment ran by a poor businessman. It's only a matter of time before they go out of business! read more
