When recently visiting 30A, my wife and I joined some friends to visit some of the shops and grab a…read moresnack along Seacrest Beach. After roaming into a number of fun shops, we realized we probably needed to get some souvenirs for friends and family back at home. That was when we came across the 30A Trading Co. 131 which was a huge store with so much to offer! At first glance, this store looked like several different stores as they had a number of different entrances. While we saw the items we would expect from magnets to shot glasses to fun toys resembling sea creatures to pool floaties, we were also surprised to see a number of items teasing the political landscape in the United States (not good or bad, but interesting). Those included toys of the president (a duck of Trump called "The Leader of the Pond" and Gulf of America '25 shirts cups, and hats. There were also random items that you could have forgotten on a trip and save yourself a trip to a convenience store. All in all, they really looked like they had everything! We later learned that this is considered a local surf shop and beach store with apparel and accessories for surfing and the beach along with many gift items. They have everything you need to go swimming. They have shirts, sunglasses, bikinis, bags, backpacks, hoodies, jackets, and activewear. Their accessories include trendy hats, practical bags and backpacks, chic sunglasses, innovative drinkware, and so much more. This store serves the Seacrest community along with nearby Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, and Inlet Beach. Their hours are 9 AM to 10 PM daily. If you go to their website (https://surfstyle.com/pages/trading-company-store-131), you can get 20% off an online order. Note that this discount doesn't work in the store, though there are many other promotions in the store. There is free shipping on an order of $70 or more. Also on their website, you can join their e-mail list and learn the story of Surf Style, now considered by some to be the leading beachwear and souvenir shopping destination in the southeast. Some of the in-store promotions included Buy 3, Get 1 Free items (which could be mixed and matched with similar items) and various sales. We didn't need the service at all except when checking out (easy transactions), but we were impressed by this large store with a little of everything!

This is my new favorite sweatshirt and I have tried many sweatshirts in the past. They are very expensive and they still don't come up to my expectations. I love this place! They also have many more options of sweatpants shirts, shorts, and swimsuits. There's a lot of jewelry you can even get your own henna tattoo. I still have mine and the lady is really nice!

But I'm not going out cold, so I shopped at Lululemon and found a stylish jacket there. It will go nicely with my "formal" and "informal" shorts and flipflops. What's the dif? My formals are clean! It's always too soon to quit, I think! So Lululemon it was. I kinda like their gear.

I bought a very nice outfit and enjoyed the shopping experience overall. But I will try a different Lilly Pulitzer location next time because of how crowded this store felt.

Went to Grand boulevard after not being helped for over 20 minutes. We were never greeted and stood at the shoe display waiting to try on shoes while we watch employees behind the counter just talking to each other and another group at the fitting room laughing and never offered to help they made eye contact and went on back to talking. Not sure where the manager was but this is not good for business. We ended up at sun set shoes bout 4 pairs of shoes and socks.

The security guard followed my kids around the outlets until I got there and told me Mountain High Outfitters had them on video stealing something and they were going to prosecute. I allowed the security guard to check all receipts and look through all bags. He found no evidence of theft. The security guard escorted me and the kids back to the store at which time I looked at the security footage. My son (mixed race) entered the building and she showed me him exiting the building and looked back at my other son and left. That was what she based her assumption that he had stolen something on. I told her it was because he was black that she was accusatory. She replied, "I knew you would say that". He did not steal from this store and the footage shows that as well as the security guard going through all of our bags. Racist.

We left without buying anything, despite genuinely wanting to spend thousands. The store had a…read moregreat selection, and the three of us (a mixed-race family) spent about 20 minutes browsing, discussing sizes, and looking at jewelry. During that entire time, neither employee greeted us, offered assistance, or acknowledged us in any way. What stood out most was the contrast. Before we entered, the employees were warmly chatting with other customers. Once those customers left and we were the only people in the store, the atmosphere became silent and watchful. One employee stayed behind the register while the other followed behind us refolding displays that didn't need attention. Even when my sister stood at the jewelry counter just inches from an employee, she wasn't acknowledged. The final straw came when my sister said, loud enough for both employees to hear, "I'd love to buy several things, but I can't spend money where no one even speaks to us." They clearly heard her, yet neither acknowledged the comment, apologized, nor made any attempt to engage with us. I can't speak to anyone's intentions--only to our experience. We left feeling unwelcome and chose to spend our money elsewhere. That's unfortunate because we would have happily purchased several outfits and jewelry and remembered this as a fun family shopping experience. Excellent customer service should be extended to every customer, and during our visit, it was completely absent. It's unfortunate, because the products were genuinely nice and we would have happily spent thousands. We would have several new outfits that each conjured fond memories of a fun family vacation that included a shopping trip for us girls. Hopefully, this serves as a cautionary tale to consumers and a reminder to the owners that this is the kind of interaction that costs a small business its sales and that excellent customer service should be extended to every customer!
