Damn, I had to travel all the way to Berlin for some serious Jamaican food!…read more No lie I seriously can taste the country at this 8restaurant. First thing I noticed was a Jamaican flag and under a rainbow flag. That in itself warmed my heart. Very Welcoming. Next, you walk into this cozy restaurant that feels like you're in the dining room of a nice Jamaican home. A beautiful picture of what seems to be a relative of the owner over looks the dining area. Simple and beautiful. This is a perfect setting for a date that you want impress with simple elegance. Don't miss the detail of the unique bee hive chandelier. I won't tell you but you'll be impressed again. The Food! Wow wow wow. Fish in coconut sauce, potatoes, vegan spazel w a Jamaican twist, fried mac and cheese!!!, jerk chicken thats hotttttt! but melts in your mouth, and cornbread! The fish was seasoned with somebodies Jamaican mamas cupboard. It was sort of mashed into a almost chunky soup. But a must try! So delicious the way the sauce and soup made this flavorful party in your mouth. Salty and creamy. The fried mac and cheese.... damn. Nuff said. Be careful with the jerk it's spppppiiceyyy! But the chicken melts in your mouth. Omg a perfect jerk recipe!!! The potatoes were my favorite!! Yummy crispy but chewy well seasoned golding potatoes. Exquisite. Everything was excellent! Service to the food. The owner was gracious and walked around with a genuine smile taking care of the place and guest. Ill pay another visit before I leave LA. Dont doubt this. Just go see for yourself.

Came with a party of 4 and got seated at a nice table on the outside patio. We ordered 3 entrees - chicken tikka, Bombay chicken masala, and the tandoori dhaba dal. We also got a garlic naan. All three of the entrees were pretty good, but not quite as flavorful as other Indian food I have had. The part that threw me off was the chicken in both dishes. It had an odd texture, like it was a little rubbery, but it still tasted okay and wasn't too off putting. The service was great. The waiter who served our table was kind and checked up on us a few times. I'm not familiar with this area, so I don't know if this is the best Indian food you can get here. I would maybe come back if I was in the area.

The lighting and acoustics contribute to a perfect atmosphere. The eight course tasting menu (actually many more dishes) is inventive and beautiful. Standouts for me we're the amuse bouche of coconut foam covered falafel, the osetra caviar, and the shabu shabu. The leek was visually stunning, individual sections, nori wrapped, hollowed out and filled with a variety of creations. Service is professional yet friendly. And excellent wine list offers some great choices at reasonable prices for this level of dining.

The glass-lined walk from the elevator to the hostess desk offers a view into the kitchen's preparation area, creating a lovely introduction to the evening. We were warmly greeted, seated immediately, and offered Champagne. We selected the eight-course tasting menu with wine pairings, and the wines were exceptional, some of the best I've ever experienced, all from German wine regions. The service was outstanding throughout: welcoming, attentive, and professional. The amuse-bouche was a wonderful prelude, and every plate that followed was beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the food overall didn't leave the same impression as the wine, service, and atmosphere. To my palate, many courses lacked seasoning and tasted too similar, missing the distinct flavors and depth I had hoped for. There were highlights. The beet dish with Oscietra caviar was beautifully presented and flavorful, and the desserts were masterfully crafted and delicious. I take no pleasure in writing a critical review, especially when so much of the evening was lovely. Still, the food is central to an experience like this, and it fell short for me. With so many other fine-dining options in Berlin, I wouldn't return. The hospitality, setting, and wines were memorable; I simply wish the savory courses had been equally compelling.

I really enjoyed the "pizza" but truly the spaetzle was the standout dish. It was perfectly done - a perfect ratio of cheese, spaetzle, and mushrooms. I highly recommend the dish. However, do not expect the best service. The service is certainly very friendly, but lacking (as standard across this part of Europe, it seems). As long as you are not deterred by the lack of service, this is a great place to be - good atmosphere, good food & with good friends.
