Lovely two-star Michelin on the rooftop. In a glass box surrounded by trees you feel you are in a forest rather than the middle of Berlin. The lighting and acoustics contribute to a perfect atmosphere. The eight course tasting menu (actually many more dishes) is inventive and beautiful. Standouts for me we're the amuse bouche of coconut foam covered falafel, the osetra caviar, and the shabu shabu. The leek was visually stunning, individual sections, nori wrapped, hollowed out and filled with a variety of creations. Service is professional yet friendly. And excellent wine list offers some great choices at reasonable prices for this level of dining.

Lovely ambiance and service. Menu allows you to choose different number of dishes and the entire table can vary independently. Flavors and presentation were worthy of the two Michelin stars and the most delightful dish for me was the dessert that resembled rocks.

Awarded 2 Michelin Stars FACIL Restaurant at Potsdamer Platz in The Mandala Hotel Berlin has been under the toque of Chef Michael Kempf for 19 years, its location on the 5th floor with an open air patio creating something of a sanctuary from the concrete and traffic outside. Not the sort of place one stumbles upon, elegant surroundings including glass panels and fountains befitting upscale clientele, FACIL offers lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, the daytime a la carte menu an extraordinary bargain beginning at €28 plus twenty more for each additional plate. Trained in Germany but not limited to region, both Ingredients and ideas casting a global net, service is gracious and accommodating beginning with housemade Bread plus a daily Amuse of creamy Corn concealing Mushrooms, Peppers and Seeds. Opting for four-courses, though in reality seven accounting for extras, Chef Kempf's seasonal Soup presents White Asparagus as silky Veloute poured tableside atop Vegetable Curls, Raspberries and cured bits of Egg. Technique-driven with traditional flavors reinterpreted, Headcheese and Tripe converted from a rustic Stew into something refined by Lemon and Coconut plus crispy Potatoes, Guinea Fowl comes as a roasted Roulade without Bones alongside Vegetables and Nuts lightly cooked to highlight their natural taste and texture. At this point turning things over to Thomas Yoshida, repeat winner of "Patissier of the Year" by Gault & Millau, Pear Sorbet bridged the gap to something of a Summer Mille-Feuille featuring eight layers ranging from Ganache to Tuile next to fragrant Basil Ice Cream. Wrapping with Mignardises, Coconut with Bergamot and Mango alongside Caramel cloaked in Cacao, the modest bill of €95 may just be one of the best Michelin 2* deals in Europe when taking into account setting, service, Ingredients and cooking.

I'm not sure what it is, but this the 4th time I've been to this rooftop restaurant/bamboo Garten, and it rains every time, forcing the staff to quickly close all the widows/vents and escort the terrace guests inside, mid-meal. It can't just be me, can it? For today's plates, the kitchen might have been a bit lazy with the amuse bouche: "Let's throw a bunch of caviar and mousse and shaved cheese onto a potato crisp." I'm not saying it didn't taste great, just that it seemed to lack imagination. I did enjoy the cold Buttermilch Suppe with mackerel, excellent taste and presentation by the servers, performing at their usual high level. Another amazing meal. Will be back soon. 2022 08 26. M2.

Absolutely a fine dining experience, and the price is definitely justified. We made reservation way in advance, since it is a highly desirable spot for fine dining. My second time here, and this time of for lunch. The menu is lighter but the food is absolutely stunning (presentation & flavorful). Of course, the service is impeccable to only match for the gorgeous surroundings of decors & greenish bamboo plants. Life is truly amazing in this experience here at Facil, especially in good company loved ones. I love Berlin & I also love Facil !

We made reservations here the day before and are so glad we were able to visit during our time in Berlin. This is a wonderful place to celebrate food and their stars are well deserved. This restaurant is located within a hotel and upon arrival we were directed towards the elevator to get to a beautiful restaurant with ceiling open to the outside. The decorations are beautiful and classic. Service was incredible from beginning to end. The menu is quite flexible here and it's perfect for picky diners as you can choose as many dishes as you wish. If you opt for wine pairings, they will match with the number of dishes you choose. We both opted for 8 dishes. Every ingredient was presented in a beautiful way and each bite was incredible. Some of my favorites were the scallop and amuse bouche. My dessert of melon and tomato was so refreshing and beautiful. My husband was happy with his slightly sweeter dessert option of peaches in a stone presentation. The wines paired perfectly and I loved learning about varietals new to me. Overall a wonderful experience and I would not hesitate to visit again.

Probably our favorite restaurant in Berlin. This was our second visit. Top notch and friendly service. Inventive, nicely presented, and tasty food. Beautiful setting and decor.

Come back again for the second time. Amazing as always 1) amuse is the fermented papaya with peanut emulsion in peanut shape 2) char with leek foam and quinoa 3) chili con carne of lamb ... Not gamey at all and the crunch on top was perfect 4) granny smith apple. The apple sorbet was amazing in a chocolate shell and the mouse of the twig shape is chocolate and apple sauce and the chocolate icecream with caramel :) And petit four Amazing again :) service is great as well One of my friends also has a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. She says the Gluten free bread was one of the best she has ever had :)

    Part of all the desserts.

€380 for 2, not bad for Michelin 2 stars restaurant, the service was nice too, just the guy was trying to trick us getting more wine than what we needed. But the dessert and the searing is very pleasant.

This was one of my favorite go-to restaurants while studying in Berlin!…read more My friends and I always walked by this place on our search for food, and were always tempted to try. There were always a lot of people sitting outside and eating (when the weather was still pleasant). So one day we finally tried it, and we were hooked. The steak and the salmon, nommm. I wish we tried the mussels, because we saw them a few times, but then we never saw them on the menu? or something. Some awkward times though, hearing them speak french, wanting to speak french, but then using half german half english.

C'est charmant, dudes!!…read more A simple, relaxing, authentic location. The moment you come in you feel that men rule this place. No look is the look, which is not bad at all. You stop at the counter behind which the food is being cooked, choose among the two or three dishes of the day (changes one-two times a week), a couple of Tarte Flambee (very tasty but not especially large) and several constant dishes (lots of meat meat). Then you walk to the table collecting on your way a knife and a fork from an old buffet and wait till the food is served. You can also order a glass of table wine to accompany your meal. What I especially like about this place is that the drinks they sell are all bottled in glass. Since I am a big enemy of plastic bottles I consider this as a special bonus. All in one: tasty, relaxing, pretty fast (though you still have to wait for the food a bit), good for visiting with friends or on your own and pretty inexpensive. Bon appétit!
