My mom actually worked for the company for several years as a teller and then assistant. They paid her pennies. Still, we banked with them. They sold her a trash BMW back in 2008. Still we continued to bank with them. We loved Jefferson County Employee Credit Union at one point. You would think that with my solid relationship with JCU, I would be able to call on them in my time of need. I had two personal loans that were always current and successfully paid off. But when I needed a small $8000 loan for my nursing school tuition they denied me. I needed a $5000 loan when I had pregnancy complications to help get me through the tight spot we were in financially because I was put on bed rest. They denied me. My car ended up getting repossessed because I was denied the loan and I ended up filing bankruptcy. Had my financial institution that I trusted and thought were a family, actually helped me when I needed them most I wouldn't be leaving. They could have gotten several more loans out of me on top of a mortgage eventually. I would have gladly paid them the interest fees over some other bank. What is the point in having a LONG standing positive relationship with a small bank if they are the only ones that benefit from it and not the members as well? If they are going to just look at you on paper and not as a valued member?

One of the representatives told me the title was mailed to a different state, but the next representative told me that wasn't true. Each person I spoke to was not helpful and put me on hold and transferred me back to the main menu. The only funny part about this situation was after not being helpful, each person tried to tell me about some great opportunities with new loans and blah blah blah... I still don't have my title or any answers. My next step is to contact the State Attorneys General's Public Inquiry Unit, which will happen first thing tomorrow... Good work, Regions.

Jordan was my cashier and seamlessly handled my three transactions. She was also extremely personable. Chase does not seem to have a strong presence in the Alabama market. Jordan, the girl at the counter, did tell me that they are expanding, especially around this area. I have been a customer of Chase for a long time. I was at first a member of Washington Mutual and when Chase purchased them I gave them a chance and it has been a very positive experience. Not only at my branch in my hometown, but since I travel a lot for work, I do try other branches and I have never had a negative experience. It's excellent they use Blend (excellent digital origination platform) for Home Equity Lines of Credit, but I would like to see its use expand to Home Equity Loans and, of course...purchase, refinance, and construction and renovation mortgages as well.
