This building society is a disgrace…read more Rude and unhelpful staff in the mortgage team. over sold at cheap rates so were positively obstructive in the process to the point where our purchase almost fell through. hidden charges soon mount up to what you would have saved. Employees lied to us about important dates and details of the application to later back track. blamed the broker we were using for not submitting paperwork in time when it had already been confirmed as received in time by another member of staff. At one point i was told if i didn't like the speed of the service i should consider another lender. the supposed solicitor that they insist you use has a policy that they will not respond to any correspondence until 48 hours have passed. it was a battle at every turn. do not use these people.

The staff here have always been very helpful to me here, even though I dont bank with them (my…read morepartner does), service with a smile. Its quite small inside, so at busy times can be ackward with a pushchair. The comfy seats to wait on are also a bit squished together, even though they are slightly out of the way of the main queues. Some of the managers here so try the hard sell on my partner but alway done with a pleasant attitude and normally take a firm no as an answer. There are 2 cash machines outside which frequently have queues to use due to them being the closest cash machines to this part of the town centre.
